I wasn't going to do a thread as I actually don't think I fancy much, but you've persuaded me - so...

Item One - some khaki jeans, maybe skinny or maybe straight leg, to wear with ankle boots. Topshop seems the obvious place but I haven't dared tried any on in case I'd need a size 22 or something! Am a size 12 in 'normal' shops.

Item Two - a fine knit slouchy jumper to wear with black or blue skinnies, maybe grey or burgundy, or perhaps striped, or something

Item Three - a pencil skirt, either burgundy or black or possibly even patterned, in lovely thick cotton with a bit of stretch in it. I don't know what it's called though. And it can't be too long because I am short of arse.

Item Four - a denim shirt, but a neat and fitted one not a slouchy one

Item Five - a striped slouchy t-shirt but in less obvious colourings than a Breton - eg purple and black / pink and burgundy / khaki and something / silver and grey. This may not exist at all but I want it! And I want it to be lovely and soft and possibly have Vivienne-inspired draping at the neck.

That'll do for now! Ta. :)

For item 2 have a look at J Crew. They have some lovely knitwear in their sale. Their cashmere is brilliant but their merino jumpers are reasonable and v good quality too.

monkeysmama · 27/08/2012 20:23

And for item 1, the best khaki skinnies I've found are from Zara. They are proper skinny and keep their shape. Lovely colour too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/08/2012 20:26

Oooh I'm looking for khaki skinnies too. The tosho baxters were vile and the gap ones were so unflattering.

Will look in zara though Smile

Gap have got some nice knitwear.

I think a lot of patterned pencil skirts will be hitting the shops soon.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 20:26

Thank you. I don't think we've got a J Crew though - Zara stuff doesn't tend to fit me as I'm short and curvy, but I'll have a look. Don't want absolutely skin tight though and I suspect that in Zara I would need size XXXXL too!

Only saw v strangely shaped ones in Gap today. What was vile about the Topshop ones?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 20:28

Oh and I saw your jacket irl - it is absolutely gorgeous.

Northumberlandlass · 27/08/2012 20:30

Remus, I shop at TopShop Tall range and I LOVE their skinnys - I am 14/16 in usual shops (voluptuous arse) and they are pretty true to size!!

Northumberlandlass · 27/08/2012 20:31

Oh...I am looking for some skinny cords (inside leg 35/36") would prefer grey or teal coloured.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 20:32

Thanks, Northumberlandlass. I'll go and try some on.

I'm also looking for (should probably have made a list in one post) a long fitted jumper, not slouchy, and some ankle boots - that I could wear with skirt & woolly tights...i've been following all the 'ankle boot threads' recently and the nearest ones i like are DM's and too expensive!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 20:42

Oh yes, I'd quite like a long fitted jumper too because the one I lived in last Autumn (from Urban Outfitters of all places) is looking very scruffy now. But it has to have elbow length sleeves and a cowl/draped neck.

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 20:43

Topshop had some nice ankle boots today, and so did Clarks.

Northumberlandlass · 27/08/2012 20:45

I found a lovely grey, not exactly fitted but 'shaped' jumper in Joules ! It was reduced massively in sale so bought it. I need a serious shopping day!!
Newcastle here I come Wink

Northumberlandlass · 27/08/2012 20:46

Thanks Remus - I was in Clarks today! Will look at TopShop for boots too

QueenCadbury · 27/08/2012 22:33

Gap have got skinny cords in. I usually have to size downin gap but when I tried on my usual size I couldn't get them over my thighs Blush. They were a nice green khaki colour though. Fat face also have nice coloured jeans. Ordered some wine coloured but they just don't fit me right. Not sure about khaki though.

QueenCadbury · 27/08/2012 22:34

Oops, just re-read and seen you've already been to gap today!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 22:36

It's okay - Northumberlandlass is looking for cords and I don't think she's been to Gap today. :)

OP posts:
Northumberlandlass · 27/08/2012 22:38

Haha, no haven't been to Gap! Might make a trip though...will have to check out length of leg.

GobblersKnob · 27/08/2012 22:44

You might be looking for better quality but I have just ordered this jumper from H&M. Have ordered an 18-20 for extra 'slouch' (am a 12 Grin). 1304 gives an extra £5 off and there are other codes if you google.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/08/2012 22:49

Love your name! Don't like acryllic though, and prob need a bit longer. It's the right sort of idea generally though, thank you.

Pencil skirts:

Too patterned?

Too red?

Gorgeous burgundy

Very pricy, very patterned

Bargain grey

Metallic

Black

And how the hell are you? Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/08/2012 12:02

Tethers - you are a search genius. The P&J one is utterly, utterly beautiful - but ouch at the price. The burgundy one is lovely. The M&S one is repulsive but I did spy a leopard print one which I really like, though the dds tell me it is hideous. Love the All Saints one and will deffo go and investigate that one.

And I'm v well, ta - how's things?

OP posts:
tethersend · 28/08/2012 22:43

All fine here, thanks Smile

Enjoying ML. Or at least I will be when DD1 goes back to nursery next week Grin

Oh, saw this denim shirt and thought of you Wink

I bought a lovely fine knit slouchy jumper in Mango last month but they don't appear to be on the website. Mine was cream there were other colours but not grey. I'm looking for a grey one myself.

I have the striped H&M one linked to above, it's ok but a bit cheap and cheerful.
