Why don't I like/want White Stuff, Fat Face et all?

I just don't get them. I 've tried really really hard, bought stuff and never worn looked and looked, but I don't like it.

I think I am in the demographic and everyone at my daughter's school wears it. But empire line tunics still Shock, didn't they go out of fashion about 5 years ago? Everything just looks droopy, twee or unfinished. They look like thy found a style that worked a few years ago, and stuck with it, and haven't moved on from there. I like the natural fibres but have tried so so hard to ike it, but it leaves me feeling droopy and irritated. When I see that label on White Stuff saying "You found me" I want to scream. I know most people on Mumsnet love it, so I guess I'm a freak

I don't like these companies because they are so patronising.

The style of their assistants and advertising reminds me of overly cheerfu; charity canvassers.

It's just too bloody positive and that makes me suspicious. And the prices are £££££ for generally quite poor quality surf gear. And a lot of reviews on WS say the stuff is a weird shape and doesn't fit properly.

I don't imagine WS really care...they're selling us a lifestyle, nothing to do with decent clothes.

Fatface is okay for leggings - they are really soft and wear well. I also like the dresses with the twist under the bust (but only in a plain colour), but they seem a bit overpriced at £45 - the fabric doesn't seem very thick.

I did buy dd some nice jeans and t shirts in ff, but the sizing was weird - came up small, I thought unless I just shrunk them in the dryer, by mistake.

I jusy hate both FF and WS. It is just dull and frumpy. I like H&M, COS, Whistles and Vero Moda but today I am wearing rolled up skinnies and ballet pumps which were criticised on a previous thread and think it looks good so what do I know?

I'm not a fan, partly because the clothes are unstructured and unflattering (some fat face stuff is ok for a day at the beach maybe and the children's wear is quite sweet) and totally unsexy. White Sruff to me says horrid A line skirts with applique stuff, yuk. Also it is a real mum cliche look in the part of London where I live. Plus my mum wears White Stuff and she is 71!
For basics I much prefer Gap, Zara, Muji.

I've just moved to a new area and it really is White Stuff central. Gawd!!!! It looks sooooooooooooooo dull!!!!
