Sort of strange (possibly very naff) dress thing

I saw this in a magazine while out today - memorized the website, but have now forgotten in completely and the name of the product.

So - it is a kind of wrap round thing, with hole for your arms, a sort of beach dress. It is apparently advertised on TV (Hmm - makes me suspect it is naff), also the fact that it was advertised on the back pages of Woman's Own Grin - it was a very small advert so I couldn't really see it properly.

It might be beyond disgusting, or it might be a hidden gem, either way does anyone have a clue as to what I'm going on about. The name might have been something like swari or swaresse - but googling those throws up nothing.

There is a prize of a back issue of Woman's Own for any one who can come up with the answer Grin

Saress??

headfairy · 02/08/2012 19:39

It's not one of those is it? sorry I can't find a link to buy one, this is a you tube link.

headfairy · 02/08/2012 19:41

ooh I bet it's tawny's one... I quite like the look of those!

Springforward · 02/08/2012 19:41

www.saress.com

KurriotsOfFire · 02/08/2012 19:43

Yes its Tawny's the Saress - thank you Smile you are all so quick!

It might be OK for the beach actually - doesn't look too bad (although I'm wondering what the unique fabric might be)

Saress??

catinboots · 02/08/2012 19:44

x-post

headfairy · 02/08/2012 19:45

I would worry it would be the sort of thing women of a certain middle age might wear when getting tipsy at cocktail hour and flirting with local barmen in their 20s and I would never do anything like that at all, no siree Bob

Stannwigg · 02/08/2012 19:49

It reminds me of a Mobi wrap! I don't know if it's brilliant or awful.

Springforward · 02/08/2012 19:51

I'd love it to be a Good Thing but I'm not sure whether it is or not Confused

Springforward · 02/08/2012 19:52

It's not OK IME. I just read this on the website.

"Antistatic it also dries in seconds and is perfect for the social woman, it will ?capture eyes? from the beach, to the pool, to the bistro, allowing all women to be sexy yet refined and elegant, slims and shapes."

Springforward · 02/08/2012 19:54

Ooh. On the other hand I am liking that they use proper plus size models very much.

I think I should go and do the ironing now Grin

Hassled · 02/08/2012 19:55

I have slims and shapes - I want one. That is the business.

dolallylass · 02/08/2012 20:00

I want a magic wrap dress Grin

headfairy · 02/08/2012 20:01

I love the look of those magic wrap dresses dolally but I have a feeling I'd have boobs popping out left right and centre.

KurriotsOfFire · 02/08/2012 20:04

Springforward - I want to 'capture eyes' from the beach. Grin and I am that woman of a certain age who embarrasses waiters with suggestive remarks headfairy.

I wonder how it slims and shapes, - what is this fabric that dries in seconds, slims and shapes and attracts men by the dozen? It must be nylon magic.

I think magic clothing of all kinds is going to be very big this summer, - and you heard it from me first.

I'm just wondering what a social woman is, to be honest Kurriots. I fear I may not be one Grin. I think I could fake refined to an extent, though....

KurriotsOfFire · 02/08/2012 20:20

I am social, I know which fork to use and that you keep your mouth closed when you are eating, unless you are talking.

I am also very refined - or at least I could be in that dress.

OP posts:
Springforward · 02/08/2012 20:23

Ah - if THAT's social, I think I could probably pass as long as I hadn't drunk half a bottle of wine first.

headfairy · 02/08/2012 20:34

Kurriots you need to be the colour of mahogany with large bright red finger nails, lots of jewellery and biiiig hair in an unnatural shade to finish off the look

Empusa · 02/08/2012 20:39

That has been all over Pinterest, how to make it yourself

Empusa · 02/08/2012 20:41

Better tutorial - plus variations

Hassled · 02/08/2012 20:50

Headfairy - you know me, don't you? You've seen me on a beach somewhere with an overly large G&T and too many bangles, haven't you?

KurriotsOfFire · 02/08/2012 20:55

Those look much nicer than the bought version Empusa - I might have a go at that (social women eat your heart out)
