bought this dress from oasis at the weekend. initially attracted to it as DD1 is my little Bumble Bee (Beatrice) and thought what the hell i'll try it on. it looked great! plus had 20 per cent off. showed (D)H. he took the piss.
what are your thoughts on this dress? does DH have a point? do i ignore him? do i go out and buy an even more eccentric dress to serve him right? i'm 25, surely at my age i should be able to wear something a little bit 'out there'?
here's a link to the dress

btw i'm only 5ft3 so the dress sits just above the knee on me.

I love it! Couldn't even tell it was bumblebees until the last picture. Tell your DP to shut up Wink They know nothing of fashion! Would look lovely on a night out too

It's lovely. Tell DP to naff off.

Nagoo · 11/06/2012 11:51

I like it, but am disappointed it wasn't stripey with co-ordinating hair accessories :)

I have a bumble bee t-shirt, it makes me happy :)

catinboots · 11/06/2012 11:53

Love it

SoupDragon · 11/06/2012 11:54

I am also with the ones who are disappointed it isn't black and yellow stripes possibly with wings and a sting

Rabid · 11/06/2012 11:57

you are young enough
b ut are you tiny?
or youll look like a heifer

imnotmymum · 11/06/2012 11:57

It lovely and yes I did think what she wants to walk around ina bumble bee outfit ????

animula · 11/06/2012 12:01

Another one who thought it would be yellow and black stripes.

I've looked and thought and then thought some more. I really can't imagine what your dh is thinking? How is it "out there"? How is it eccentric?

I'm genuinely, really puzzled.

Is he one of these chaps who always likes his tea in the same mug and can't eat his breakfast without "his" spoon? One of the defining things about fashion is that it changes, so if it's the unfamiliarity of this style of thing from the clothes his mother wore as he grew up that is getting to him, you may have some explaining to do. It's not at all eccentric: there really are lots of dresses around like this - and they are very nice.

And yours is very nice. I'm sure you'll look lovely in it.

mumofbumblebea · 11/06/2012 12:03

Rabid not tiny but a size 12. would wear with cardigan and leggings anyway :)
haha love the fact everyone thought i was going to wear black and yellow stripes.

Another one who thinks it's lovely. Very cute!

hellymelly · 11/06/2012 12:06

It is really cute and pretty, I wish I had the legs for it in fact!

mumofbumblebea · 11/06/2012 12:07

animula i was puzzled as well but thought it was just me. do i need a more open-minded DH?
yes he does have to have his tea in his favourite 'stig' mug lol.

It's not at all 'out there' Confused It's v. cute.

Your DP is a quarter-wit at best.

But you will need to be really, reaaaaaally teeny tiny, that's the only thing!

mumofbumblebea · 11/06/2012 12:18

Jodie i was worried about needing to be tiny to wear it, but actually it looks lovely on. the model is 5ft10, i'm 5ft3, it sits just above the knee on me. plus i live in leggings and it looks lovely with them. a nice cardi and the arm fat is all forgotten about :)

its not height
its weight

dexter73 · 11/06/2012 12:21

I think it's great! I love different prints on clothes and have just got this top as it made me smile!

Selks · 11/06/2012 12:21

It's lovely

choceyes · 11/06/2012 12:24

It's lovely! Another who is puzzled by your DH's "out there" comment. It looks pretty and trendy, but not unusual at all.

mumofbumblebea · 11/06/2012 12:26

rabid weight wasn't a problem (for me anyway :)). the day a size 12 is too big to wear a nearly knee length dress i'll be very sad :(

mumofbumblebea · 11/06/2012 12:28

dexter i love that top!

Mombojombo · 11/06/2012 12:50

Hehehehe at the very thought of that dress being 'out there'... I don't think your DH would approve much of my ancient 32yo gaudy wardrobe! The bumble bee dress is lovely, ignore him.
