Save me from Fitflops

Lovely weather -- but my sandals are making my feet hurt. Rushed home and put on a pair of Fitflops.

Should order more?

Is there a more stylish alternative?

My issue is the padding under the balls of my feet.

I've tried the fly london wedges but they come off my feet like some reviewers complain of.

Please other options -- I like to wear skirts and dresses and fitflops are too bulky but I also want comfy feet.

I spent a while trying to find comfy but attractive sandals last year and ended up with a pair of Ugg gladiator sandals and also a red pair from Camper. The Ugg ones have slightly squishy cork soles with a rubber outer and would be v comfy except they are quite narrow and can feel a bit tight when it's hot. The Camper ones are wider (in fact could prob have sized down) but got me through a couple of very hot and long days sightseeing in Rome in comfort. In short, would recommend trying Camper!

poohbearrocks · 26/05/2012 19:14

I have very very wide feet (with nuts and blots in!). I need very padded soles and am so tempted to try fitflops. How wide do they come up? Do styles vary width wise?

poohbearrocks · 26/05/2012 19:15

Oh, and I have lots of scars and some go down in between my big and second toe. Are the toe posts really soft?

thebestisyettocome · 26/05/2012 19:21

I have these and they are very nice on as well as comfortable.

BreadAndJamForFrances · 26/05/2012 20:07

Not to everyone's taste obviously, but these are soooooo comfy!

Ormiriathomimus · 26/05/2012 20:11

I want these but can't afford atm

BogeyNights · 26/05/2012 20:32

whata bout varca sandals
I dug out an old pair this week and they are soooo comfy and there are heaps of styles and colours.

ChablisLover · 26/05/2012 20:41

Childoftheseventies - are the clarks sandals comfy?

Have admired them when I was in getting ds sandals and thought they were nice and funky but being clarks comfy too.

OhBuggerandArse · 26/05/2012 20:57

Oh I like those Varca ones. Any guidance re sizing? Big/small/wide/narrow?

cerealqueen · 26/05/2012 22:20

Crocs flip flops are THE most comfortable you will ever wear. You can get chunky news and flatter ones and they go in the washing machine. Just fab.

LittleTyga · 26/05/2012 22:28

I jusy checked out one of those links an dmy first thought was 'Ooh - they look comfy!' - That's it I'm old now aren't I? :(

LittleTyga · 26/05/2012 22:28

rusmum · 26/05/2012 22:41

Tranquilidade · 26/05/2012 22:49

Gabor are ace, they are the comfiest shoes ever. I'm finding I go out searching every time yet always come back to gabor

nailak · 26/05/2012 22:59

avon do fitflop type flip flops, they are the only thing that dont make my feet hurt, even clark shoes rubb etc,

i havent tried the real deal of course.

ThatVikRinA22 · 26/05/2012 23:55

so its just a comfort thing then? they dont actually do anything else? why are they called fit flops then? i though they were supposed to give you a work out as you walked or something.....is that just a gimmick?

i quite like some of the styles but they are a bit chunky....

beachyhead · 27/05/2012 00:02

I've just bought these, as my osteo has banned flip flops with no arch here

AngryFeet · 27/05/2012 00:22

How much do fit flops cost then? My mum bought me two pairs and I hated them as the toe post rubbed my feet raw. I was going to sell them at a car boot sale tomorrow. They have both been worn a couple of times around the house so are like new. Guessing they are worth more than the £2 I was going to ask for!

ThatVikRinA22 · 27/05/2012 00:27

the real deal new are around £60 upwards....but that is the branded version, no idea what knock offs sell at.

im quite liking the clarks version that beachy linked.....am i getting old then? they arent exactly glam are they! but they look comfy!

PrematurelyAirconditioned · 27/05/2012 00:30

The full price for the simple flip flip type is 50-60 quid depending on precise style. You can often get them for cheaper in sales, but you should still be able to get more that 2 quid for a nearly new pair.

Dawnywoo · 27/05/2012 04:37

some mega deals on fitflops at boots right now here

mirpuppet · 27/05/2012 06:22

I've tried to but the mega deal firflops from Boots in my basket several time this week -- never can.
