Just that really. Have been recommended to me but wanted other opinions too please.

OP posts:

I can't get on with their things at all. Bought the sensitive skin wash, thinking it would be gentle, but it dried my skin to sandpaper. I don't find the marine cream does anything, not moisturising at all. I've bought a few of the kits in the past with high hopes but been completely underwhelmed.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/05/2014 10:18

I've tried a few Elemis over the years.
I don't like (understatement) lavender (it makes me heave) so it limits what I can tolerate.

I love the Tri-Enzyme wash (it's not a cleanser, you use it on clean skin)
The Pro-Collagen Eye Serum (just finishing off a bottle of this)
PCMC (marine cream) nice and light texture , suited my skin but I'd only buy as a kit, not a stand alone.
Things that were meh
The milky bath stuff
The Monoi wash and the oil (have to warm it to get it out of the bottle)
The capsuals (tiny and Rose /Lavender ugh )
Papaya Peel (smells like vomit off milk)

And a melting cleansing gel that was really heavy and sticky even used with a hot flannel, it never felt like it lifted off.

So it's a range you can pick bits from, I wouldn't personally use the whole range.
Try QVC kits though, bits of everything.

Dermaflannel does it for me. spend your money on the flannel not the products! my days of horrid hormonal spots are gone

Tiggywinklespinny · 18/05/2014 08:18

Hi Megatron, long time Elemis user and ex Elemis Therapist, if I can help I will! What type of skin do you have?

emilystrange2013 · 18/05/2014 09:02

I've had a really bad reaction on the skin around my eyes a few times which I was putting down to a new mascara but the process of elimination points the finger at Elemis rose petal cleanser and/or toner, as I had small bottles and used to remove the makeup each time the reaction happened...

AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/05/2014 09:05

Yes, I use it. The papaya enzyme peel is lovely, smells good enough to eat.

coffeeinbed · 18/05/2014 09:10

I might have ranted about the pro collagen cream here..Blush
And now I have changed my mind and have used up a handful of samples and I love it.

I might have to buy a jar of it.

It might not have been right for me at the time, or the sample might have been old, I don't know.
Now, it works.

I love Elemis frangipani shower cream and the monoi body oil, but I find the skin care just too over-scented for my face and I can't use it. After years if experimentation (Decleor, Elemis, Clinique, Boots No 7 etc), I have now settled on La Roche Posay Effaclar which suits me brilliantly.

Flooziebloom · 05/07/2014 20:50

Hi, new to this group but I feel the pain of difficult skin.... I have just purchased some Elemis products after having quite a bad reaction to Clarins moisturisers and toner. I suffered from bad skin for years until I had my children and it seemed to calm down. I have just hit 42 and it looks tired, dull and spotty :(. I am sort of hoping it is the Clarins and not my age!?.. Anyway I have my fingers crossed for Elemis!!... In my time I have tried Clinique, Dermalogica, Benefit, (to name but a few). If its helpful I did find Darphin intral cleanser and toner extremely good for sensitivity and they do a balm which is wonderful too.

bluestripysocks · 06/07/2014 10:53

I always check things out on BeautyPedia aka Paula's Choice- and she gives Elemis a pretty damning report- too much perfume, irritating ingredients she says.

bluestripysocks · 06/07/2014 10:53

Elemis as on Paula's choice

Elledouble · 06/07/2014 11:03

I got this set from QVC recently and it's really suited me - my skin has been lovely, hardly any spots at all, since I started using it a few weeks ago. I've got a few at the moment but I think they're probably hormonal. The night cream and the mask especially are lovely.

Barbs111 · 06/07/2014 23:09

There amazing!!! I work for the couple who own this brand and she looks bloody amazing for her age!

Best bit is I get lots of lovely freebies and beautiful elmis gift set for birthday/Xmas

aecs · 03/01/2019 16:30

I'm using their marine pro-collagen cream too and its fantastic.
If you really want some fab Elemis deals take a look at Zest Beauty. You can also collect beauty reward points and every now and then they have free gift offers.

NikiFree · 03/01/2019 18:59

Elemis is so heavily scented I wouldn't want to put that on my face.

My skin went very dry lately and I have had good results with dermalogica.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 03/01/2019 20:31

Thread was started in 2012 so OP probably already decided...

That said, Marine Cream is shite for dry skin. So thin and watery I had to use a moisturiser over it. The hot cloth cleanser was nice enough, but no better than anyone else's.

RussellSprout · 03/01/2019 21:18

I love it, the products are too expensive on their own so I wait for QVC to do an offer on a gift set, then pick the products I want and sell the ones I don't on ebay.. makes it affordable!

FloofyDoof · 03/01/2019 23:54

I love the frangipani monoi body range, but I'm not a lover of the facial skincare. I recently tried the peptide4 night cream oil, and it broke me out horribly. It all seems to contain coconut oil which is very comedogenic, and lots of irritating fragrance oils.

FloofyDoof · 03/01/2019 23:55

So many zombie threads lately!

namechangedforanon · 04/01/2019 00:06

Terribly overpriced
Low active ingredients
Poor clinical trial basis in my opinion
Full of irritants like fragrance , essential oils

Avoid avoid avoid

ToBeClear · 04/01/2019 17:41

Try the seven seas perfect renewal vitamins too - my skin is visibly improved after 2 months taking them.

I used to use Rodan + Fields in the USA but now use ALDI and Elemis skincare here, and mix and match high and low end.

The vitamins and lots of water make the biggest change for me.

Oolyram · 28/06/2022 07:45

Check the ingredients. All Elemis products contain fragrance. Some of them contain more preservative and/or fragrance than active ingredients. This is not acceptable for me.

LaFloristaCalista · 30/06/2022 08:35

I love them. Look for offers in lookfantastic , feelunique or Amazon
