Just that really. Have been recommended to me but wanted other opinions too please.

I love them. My skin hasn't been this good in years since I started using them.

AThingInYourLife · 20/05/2012 20:21

I only have their facial wash. It's fab.

Megatron · 20/05/2012 20:22

Oh. I was hoping you were going to say it was rubbish! It's quite expensive but my skin is awful just now. What do you use?

OP posts:
AThingInYourLife · 20/05/2012 20:23

:o yes, it's bloody expensive.

Megatron · 20/05/2012 20:28

I've had a look at the QVC website and they do some sets so I might get one of them to try it out. I always seem to buy crap skincare stuff but maybe I need to splash out a bit for once. The reviews are really good dammit!

My skin has got even worse since I started using them! Honestly I don't know what's going on. It started out better (first three weeks or so) and now is atrocious. I have the facial wash, the serums and the marine cream. Have cut out the marine cream as it just brought me out in spots (a spotty neck ffs) and then the serums. Now I'm just using the wash which is fine but it's just soap or cleanser or whatever.

AThingInYourLife · 20/05/2012 20:37

NO! The wash is magic.

Megatron · 20/05/2012 20:40

God I'm confused now! I started with the 3 step clinique thingy a couple of months ago and my skin was fab for a week then it went truly awful. The toner is like meths.

Do I go with Elemis? Do I just resign myself to crap skin? Oh the decisions..

OP posts:
treefumaster · 20/05/2012 20:46

Megatron, I'm sort of reassured that that happened to you with clinique. It's definitely happening to me with Elemis. And it's not a sensitivity type thing. It's a full on crap skin type thing. I am 43 ffs. I shouldn't have to be putting up with this still Sad. I am now combining crepey neck with spots Angry

But I'm probably not a good guide to what works and what doesn't. Have been battling skin problems for almost 35 years. Have tried everything. Nothing works. So I am torn between thinking skin products just don't work and it's all marketing and thinking but there must be something out there that works hence trying Elemis at great cost.

Housewife2010 · 20/05/2012 20:47

I've recently started using their Pro-Radiance cream cleanser & I love it.
Have a look on beautyexpert.co.uk. They have some really good Elemis sets at the moment greatly reduced. Also you can use your Tesco clubcard points with Beautyexpert. So £10 worth of points = £20 to spend on Elemis. Free P&P too.

robotcornysilk · 20/05/2012 20:49

you can try stuff out from qvc and then send it back within 30 days if you don'y like it. Eve lom cleanser is really good if you haven't tried it. I like elemis though.

Megatron · 20/05/2012 20:49

I'm 45 tree and have never had problems with my skin until the last year. It's horrible! Sad The clinique fiasco made me look a hundred. And I'm feeling your pain with the crepey neck!

AThingInYourLife · 20/05/2012 20:54

treefu - Clinique is the work of the devil, it gave me red, sore, spotty skin in my 20s.

"Dramatically different", indeed!

Megatron · 20/05/2012 20:54

Housewife you have made me a happy woman! They have some fantastic stuff on there at great prices and I can use my tesco vouchers, hurrah! I still don't know what to buy though...

OP posts:
swearytramp · 20/05/2012 20:56

I used it for quite a long time then got a terrible reaction - so bad my doctor thought I had shingles! Scabby under the eyes, itchy and all round disgusting! Shame because I had loved the stuff

ThatVikRinA22 · 20/05/2012 20:57

clinique is very very harsh - i used to use it and my skin was never great - i now usually use Sothys which i buy from my beauty therapist but i treated myself to some elemis stuff for my birthday in feb - im just using up my other stuff first then i will try it. i rate boots perfect and protect serum and moisturiser too.

i have heard good stuff and the body stuff which i have already cracked open is lovely. love the hair/nail/body oil and the bubble bath smells devine.

Housewife2010 · 20/05/2012 21:03

Megatron - it's a pleasure! x
Have you looked at makeupalley.com? They have thousands of reviews on different products & you can order them to look at ones from people with similar skin types/ages as you.

Megatron · 20/05/2012 21:09

No I haven't but I will, thank you. I am so useless when it comes to this stuff! How I love this section of mumsnet!

Dermalogica is my favourite brand. Their Special Cleansing Gel is amazing. I have tried many others and always go back.
Jersey Beauty Company have the best prices and you get lovely free samples and free p&p.
Elemis is good but not worth the extra pennies IMHO.

JaneLinter · 02/12/2013 11:57

Yeah there is one more, it's Sauerstoff Kosmetik . it is in rich in oxygen which is really good for skin and healthy too.

plentyofsoap · 02/12/2013 12:12

I rate their face masks. I got the travel sized ones to see how I got on with them as they are cheaper. They have actually lasted a long while.

sue52 · 02/12/2013 12:17

I love their marine pro-collagen cream, it works wonders for my dry skin. I use aqueous cream as a cleanser and as it costs next to nothing, it mitigates the cost of the Elemis moisturiser.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 02/12/2013 13:40

how interesting... i just got almost to the end of a face wash of theirs and had no problems but last few days my chin has gone red and raised dry and itchy, wonder if it could be the face wash?

peanut25 · 17/05/2014 00:40

I love elemis I used to use the 3 step Clinique set, but elemis stuff just feels so amazing like walking out of a spa I use the pro collagen cream cleanser & once a week the pro collagen balm cleanser with the papaya enzyme peel the apricot toner & marine cream, my face feels perfect :) last week I bought the skin capsules that you just use for a month they are great too! I used to hate taking my make up off now I enjoy the 10 minutes to myself :)
