Wearing skinny jeans with a big scarf and a slightly baggy top?
Nuffink wrong with that, just they're all the same.
Oh and holding a bag in an awkward way.

I think we need a take the piss out of Per Una blog. A sort of anti-blog.

Labootin · 10/05/2012 13:06

I like that style scout blog ..but it makes me homesick ( and wish I was 20 again)

AgeingFop · 10/05/2012 16:03

TBH, Crocodilio, I don't think you'll find much like SchoolGateStyle..., DoesMyBumLook..., etc, for men. I'm probably a lot more vain fashion-conscious than most men and I'd balk at blogging what I wore to the world! (It's probably only the skinny boys with sculpted hair who are confident and vain enough to do it.)

Probably says a lot about the way society views men and clothes vs women and clothes that you'll find very few of the former and many of the latter in blogs. (OTOH, DW is probably equally or more stylish than many of the examples here, but wouldn't blog her outfits either.)

Just had a look at Does my bum look 40 blog and think she looks amazing!

Willowisp · 14/05/2012 16:07

Well, I like schoolgatestyle. Much more doable & I'm getting a bit fed up with the skinny jeans thing all the time. I have, what my gran called, 'a jodphur thigh' so they are not something that exists in my day to day my wardrobe.

What is in my wardrobe, is a load of long sleeve, scraggy tops & piled knitwear Sad.

Inspiration required !

flibbertigibbert · 14/05/2012 18:31

My problem with those blogs is that most people writing them have fabulous figures - they're the sort of people who can wear very simple clothes - skinnies, t-shirt, scarf and automatically look fab, whereas someone with my figure would look dull and frumpy in the same outfit. I've come across plus sized blogs, but not really any for inbetween size-14 type figures.

lumbago · 14/05/2012 18:37

They are all thin yes.
But al stick out a mean leg. ;)

None seem to do a proper days work. Just swish about talking avoute pieces and drone on about their kids and h who has the obligatory comedy name.
Less kids guys. We really aren't interested.

Just clothes.

I am currently obsessed with atlantic pacific - just lots of lovely clothes.

I want to learn to do the 'leg' though for future photos Wink

drywhiteplease · 14/05/2012 20:14

lumbago "coloured jeans are shit", "the stuff in Primark is crap and smells of it too", you don't like bankers wives who wear skinny jeans and scarves and now you assume fashion bloggers don't "do a proper days work"....... Nice!

Emo76 · 14/05/2012 20:19

does this count as a men's style blog?

lilaloves · 14/05/2012 20:36

Atlantic-pacific,wow! Makes me almost want to rewind 10 years and run away to a little apartment in New york or Paris.

Lovely to look at,but would have to be watered down for my present life.

MrsCampbellBlack · 14/05/2012 20:39

You see I definitely want aspirational and like the ones from people who work i fashion.

JanePlanet · 14/05/2012 20:43

I love this

stripeygingercat · 14/05/2012 20:48

I seem to remember a certain fishy poster who used to love giving 'style n beauty tips' to all and sundry....not much different to doing a style blog these days really. I wonder what happened to her?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/05/2012 20:54

Yes to no tunics! God, I hate tunics. Yes to more workwear. And yes to less writing - I'm not interested in if you had a nice muffin in a cafe or if Cosima has eaten her lunch or not: just show me some nice clothes that I may actually want to wear please! I'm not interested in Primark clothes either, thanks - not ever.

lumbago · 14/05/2012 20:55

I don't like a lot ;)

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 14/05/2012 21:05

A nice tunic and a button necklace - come on Remus - you know that's what you're wearing right this minute Wink

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/05/2012 21:13

Wtf is a button necklace?

Actually I am wearing VERY old flared jeans and a battered cashmere jumper - I suspect a tunic and even a (???) button necklace may be an improvement! :)

lumbago · 14/05/2012 21:14

I can't talk

I'm
Wearing the most horrendous dressing gown known to man

OP posts:
AgeingFop · 15/05/2012 09:30

Emo76 Grin to the blog!

I do own a pair of red trousers. Will wear them with pride now!

PetronellaSterling · 08/02/2013 13:25

There's a site called Avenue57 on which women post pics of what they wear - bit like WIWT but for grown-ups! Anyone come across that? There's lots of skinny jeans and big tops on there too, but also seems to have a number of working mums who can't wear jeans to work etc. Normal people's budgets as well, rather than an endless parade of "bargains I happened to pick up on one of my multiple shopping sprees to the local outlet centre (or not)".

KandyBarr · 08/02/2013 19:54

I agree wholeheartedly with lumbago - that south-west London uniform might be some people's idea of style, but it says nothing to me about my life.

That's Not My Age is informative - and crucially, seems to have a job. Though I think it's is in fashion.
