Please can you link to it here???

I have very long, layered hair in good condition but I am bored!! My colour isn't right (had my colours done and she sad I am cool but I've always had lots of copper/red in it.) So, I've bitten the bullet and am going to Jo Hansford salon in London tomorrow for, what will probably be, the most expensive haircut if my life!! What do I do? Go short, shoulder length, blonde?? My youngest DD pointed out last week that I have 'stripes' on my forehead which is making me contemplate a fringe!!!

I realise it's hard to comment on someone you dont know so I'm really just asking for hair porn!! Inspiration please!!

Anyone?

Just past shoulder length, lots of body, smooth (no frizz) and nicely flick. A la Jane Fonda I suppose. Boring I expect, but you did ask!

I like longish fringes, more versatile.

Good luck with whatever you decide - I am sure it will look fab from Jo Hansford. :-)

MrsSeanBean · 23/04/2012 20:01

Oops sorry you wanted a link... hang on...

WelshCat · 23/04/2012 20:01

dont get a fringe!!!

seriously. i always get a fringe, and it does look good until you go to bed. then every day when you get up it sticks everywhere and you have to wet/blowdry/straighten it. every day!!

unless you have magic hair...

if i could have any hair in the world it would be what sounds similar to yours! long, layered, kinda reddy coloured.

have you ever been blonde? blonde is fun :)

Mind you, I wouldn't be brave enough to go that short, perhaps a slightly longer version.

WelshCat · 23/04/2012 20:03

like this!!!!

Vajazzler · 23/04/2012 20:04

If i could have any hairdo in the world it would be this. My own curly hair is not quite this curly or gorgeous.

FoofFighter · 23/04/2012 20:04

I'd love a funky crop

I look like a man if my hair is short though Hmm

WelshCat · 23/04/2012 20:04

lool me and mrsseanbean have totally oppsite suggestions!

FoofFighter · 23/04/2012 20:04

ooh no i changed my mind, I want vajazzler's hairdo!

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 23/04/2012 20:04

I would have really long dreadlocks.
But I wouldn't want all the cafuffle getting them, and I'd want to be able to make them removable for work, and a good hairwash once a week.

Not helpful,I know, but you did ask! Grin

petitdonkey · 23/04/2012 20:26

Oooh, thank you.

WelshCat- I think you're right about the fringe, I've had them after all three of my children and always grow them out!

At the moment my hair is a more layered version of The DofC's (although not attached to a teeny, tiny body!!) and I keep looking at pictures of her and thinking that maybe its getting a bit long....

mrsseanbean - I think I know where you're coming from but I'm worried about looking a bit.... Middle aged? (even though I guess, at 37, that's exactly what I am!)

Was wondering about this cut but maybe this colour

(on iPad so it will be a miracle if those links work!)

OP posts:
petitdonkey · 23/04/2012 20:27

Nope- didn't work!! Heidi's shorter style with Jen on a darker day.

OP posts:
MrsSeanBean · 23/04/2012 20:28

Yes that's a nice combination petit.

BeaOnSea · 23/04/2012 20:36

Are you a natural redhead? I ask because I am in exactly the same position as you (though a bit older).

I'm a natural redhead and have had copper/blonde colours done for quite a few years due to vast amounts of grey. My hair is also quite long & layered but I want a change. I am due at the hairdressers on Saturday (not a posh one but quite capable local hairdresser).

I am hoping to find a picture to inspire me as I am rubbish at explaining what I want. I am wondering whether I should start losing the red in my hair and just go blonde.

petitdonkey · 23/04/2012 20:39

bea - I think I'm just a straight mousey brown but my hair does seem to pull any red from the colour if that makes any sense? I was blonde as a little girl but just brown from about 7. I don't know if I'm being too led by the House of Colour woman despite the fact that I didn't really rate her.

Is it bizzare to go to a swanky salon and ask for mousey brown??

OP posts:
BeaOnSea · 23/04/2012 20:43

No - I'm sure they do an upmarket kind of mouse Grin

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

salamanda · 23/04/2012 20:46

I would have this or this or this. That enough hair porn for you?

Francagoestohollywood · 23/04/2012 20:57

Natalie Imbruglia in Torn has my fav hair style ever.

petitdonkey · 23/04/2012 20:58

salamanda- I fear I'm about to lose an hour!! Thanks, love the last one.

So now I'm between mousey with a touch of ash blonde or glossy bitter chocolate!

OP posts:
salamanda · 23/04/2012 21:00

If you're thinking short, I love this. Sorry for all the Pinterest links, it's just quicker.

MagsAloof · 23/04/2012 21:06

I love that Natlie Imburglia hair. Also love Michelle Williams crop. Gorge.

Long hair not so much.

Bert2e · 23/04/2012 21:09

Long, thick and wavy with lots of body and all swishy and lovely,I don't really care what colour! Envy
Totally the opposite to what I've got - mousey brown, thin and fine which is limp and lifeless and sticks out all in the wrong directions and has never been much longer than a chin length bob as it just hangs when it gets long Sad

ThePathanKhansWitch · 23/04/2012 21:16

Oooh I'd get a big 'ole Afro ala 1972.

I'm mixed race with long thick unbiddable hair.
