I use it as a lip balm and for my cuticles.

iliketea · 08/04/2012 13:18

I use mine for everything.

  • lipbalm
  • handcream, especially when my hands are sore - better at night as it is a bit sticky.
  • on my face, if I've got sunburn / wind burn (also slathered it on my sunburned shoulders last summer)
  • nappy cream if I've run out of sudocrem
-Intensive moisturiser when my face is really dry - again at night, after cleansing.
  • Put it on small cuts and grazes, find it especially good as a barrier when I've got a paper cut, stops it stinging and works on dd's grazed knees too.

I love 8 hour cream, though a lot of people hate it because of the smell. And a tube lasts me months and months, because you don't need a lot.

Msarsebiscuit · 08/04/2012 13:20

I use it as a lip balm/treatment - it's excellent but I know it's supposed to be good for all sorts

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/04/2012 13:22

Also great if sunburned, shaft nose after a cold (even better to prevent it), very dry hands or face (put on at night), I have used it for DD2's nappy rash when nothing else worked...
on elbows or knees if showing any sign of horrible thick skin.
I haven't try on feet but I guess it would work too (a bit expensive to waste).

Even put it on DH eye lids (eczema type patches)

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/04/2012 13:24

X pots with ili. A tube last me about a year unless I have to use it as a nappy cream.

bemybebe · 08/04/2012 13:24

love it for lip balm (last for absolute ages also)

DinahMoHum · 08/04/2012 13:35

lip balm/gloss, cuts bruises, sunburn

i really like the smell

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/04/2012 13:45

Eyebrow tamer

daisydoodoo · 08/04/2012 13:49

Nothing the smell is awful! It's sticky and gloppy and hard to rub in.

chipstick10 · 08/04/2012 13:56

I think its slightly overrated tbh.

warmandwooly · 08/04/2012 16:24

You can get/ will be able to get a fragrance free version.

Use it in dry skin, lips and generally to help with skin soreness

warmandwooly · 08/04/2012 16:29

fragrance free eight hour cream

mosschops30 · 08/04/2012 16:36

On lips as a balm.
And i slather it on my hands every night, really thick, i have horribe dry hands that split and bleed, this is the only cream that soothes them and keeps them normal looking. I buy all mine off ebay, its waaaay too expensive in Boots

FashionEaster · 08/04/2012 16:38

Moschops, how much does it cost on Ebay, if you don't mind me asking?

FashionEaster · 08/04/2012 16:39

Friend suggested it was pink vaseline in a tube - er, it isn't is it?!

warmandwooly · 08/04/2012 16:47

You can get it in TK Maxx quie often and cheaper!

winnybella · 08/04/2012 16:52

I think it was developed as a treatment for healing horse's hooves.

Lip balm, hand cream, face cream, sunburn, also used it when DD had nappy rash...it's great. If it's any recommendation, all the top make-up artists used it for shoots when I worked as a model.

Lovely stuff.

Safmellow · 08/04/2012 16:55

Yeah I put it on bleeding/cracked hands. Also use Lotil which is pretty good.

Kaekae · 08/04/2012 16:55

I remember buying this for the first time 10 years ago when I was 23. I was going on holiday bought it on the plane, opened it up and thought yuck. However, I got terrible sunburn to the point my scalp was peeling, put it on my sunburn and it worked a treat. Good for spots, makes any redness go away. Used it for nappy rash. I also have a little lip balm one which has lasted ages. It does just remind me of a glorified Vaseline though.

mosschops30 · 08/04/2012 17:10

About £12 on ebay

Mombojombo · 08/04/2012 18:57

A friend of mine fell off his bike and face planted on the curb splitting his chin open. He used 8hr on the scab and I've never seen anything heal so fast! No scar either.

I went out & bought some as a result & havent used it more than a handful of times! At least I have it in case I stack it off my bike!

whitelillies · 08/04/2012 19:21

I got a bad burn from a splash of hot oil from pan when I was cooking. It was on my décolletage area and a few slpash blisters on my faceSad I used a combo of 8hr and bio oil once the dressings finished and it's only 2 months later and I ve no scar or redness - I m a convert - I m fair skinned and usually scar from the slightest skin abrasion (like nicking myself of I shave my legs!) it s smelly but wonderful
Have used it on dc s too.

MistyMountainHop · 09/04/2012 10:01

put some on my hands before i went to bed last night and have lovely soft hands today :) it STINKS though

Yes lip balm, nappy cream and use it for my heels and elbows at night.

I absolutely love the smell!

hermioneweasley · 09/04/2012 15:51

I use it on lips, but when my face got cut up in a car accident I put it on and it healed in about 24 hours - amazing
