I have sensitive acne prone skin btw.

mrsebojones · 07/04/2012 13:22

35 with reasonable skin - combination type

Day moisturiser - Simple age resist - cheap as chips from Sainsburys but feels nice and does the job

Night moisturiser - Clinique - I forget the exact name but it's an anti age one in a green tube and around £36

I'm of the opinion it's better to splash out on night cream and then save on day cream

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/04/2012 13:38

I'm also a fan of Philosophy Hope in a Jar. My skin is "normal" if such a thing exists.

I've run out (boo) so I'm making do with SBC (Simply Beautiful Cosmetics) Collagen gel mixed with Philosophy Night Cream (which I find too rich)

I didn't like Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine at all.

Pancakeflipper · 07/04/2012 13:44

Liz Earle.
Have sensitive and horribly dry skin that used to weep in Winter. This is second Liz Earling Winter and my skin has been fab. So fab several friends have commented and asked what I am using. I love it.

MossC - please tell me more please about the Neals Yard rose stuff please. What do you do with it?

noddyholder · 07/04/2012 14:00

I used liz earle for years and then it seemed to stop working. Decleor really works for me. I also use the avon serum about twice a month.

Spookey80 · 07/04/2012 14:23

Nivea so soft- really cheap but great for my combination skin. I just wish they made it with an SPF in it.

Bunbaker · 07/04/2012 14:27

I'm currently using the Lacura range from Aldi. Cheap as chips and works well on my skin. I'm not so keen on the smell though.

I have never used expensive moisturiser as my norma/combination skin has no need for it. I am 53 and look 43.

Bucharest · 07/04/2012 14:39

46 and dry.
Just finished Boots Lift and Luminate (much nicer than Protect and Perfect) but having stalked mrsmartin and others on here for a while am awaiting a delivery of Decleor goodies from feelunique. There was an offer on similar to the ones on QVC and I am getting a moisturiser, a small oil and an eye serum for £38. (small sizes I think the cream is a 30ml but to try for first time I thought that wasn't a bad price)
I hear nothing but good about Liz Earle though, and will no doubt be giving that a bash as well.

mamababa · 07/04/2012 14:49

The new Boots No 7 beautiful skin range. I have combination skin too and had hideous dry patches after having DS2 and not looking after my skin and it's sorted that out. FabGrin

Mrsrobertduvall · 07/04/2012 14:50

Dermalogica age smart.
And an agera one for after microdermabrasion.

FairPhyllis · 07/04/2012 14:51

Peter Thomas Roth non-oil based with SPF. 30, with sensitive combination and acne prone skin. It's the only thing that has ever not irritated my face and not given me breakouts.

mosschops30 · 07/04/2012 15:01

pancake have always used oil because it keeps your skin balanced (or something Wink. but the liz earle superskin concentrate was horribly expensive and i saw the neals yard rose facial oil on a review website.
Its a large bottle, costs £20 so a bargain.

At night i use it after cleanse and polish and toner, no moisturiser just a few drops and rub all over face and neck, lined areas specifically.
Then same in the morning but i put a small amount of LE moisturiser on top, so you dont need as much moisturiser.
you only need a tiny bit of oil so bottle will probably last me over a year

The smell is divine Smile

Whateveryousaymustberight · 07/04/2012 15:28

Mamababa, did you try the wash off gel to oil cleanser too? It's lush! I am so impressed with the no 7 beautiful skin stuff I've tried. I am 48, and I have combination skin that's turning a bit drier with maturity! I also like Liz Earle and Estee Lauder moisturisers.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 07/04/2012 15:35

Boots vitamin E day cream - it suits my (dry/combination) skin better than anything I've tried in a long time.
Every so often I'll stick on a bit of Nivea or Astral at night, but I find it too heavy for daytime.

chilledmomma · 07/04/2012 15:50

Gatineau all the way for me. Great for my sensitive skin and you can get good deals on it online (or, whispering now, QVC). Aldi, Boots and Nivea all make me pink and spotty, and Simple and Elemis just do nothing.

coffeeinbed · 07/04/2012 15:54

I'm not fussed about moisturiser - currently it's a Lancome Morpholift sample pot, I has been pretty much everything from Neal's Yard to L'Occitane via something else.
The one thing that's constant is the Clarins Sensitive Skin Serum underneath every morning and the Blue Orchid Oil in the evening.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2012 16:02

I didn't like the smell of Hope In A Jar.

I'm currently using Neal's Yard Rose for day and Olay Regenerist Three Point stuff at night. I love the Olay but am less fond of the Neal's Yard - though I thought their Frankincense one was brilliant.

Nextweekmustbebetter · 07/04/2012 16:08

I have just discovered the lidl moisturisers and night cream and they are amazing, much better than any of the more expensive ones I have tried. My skin looks better than it has in years.

alemci · 07/04/2012 16:14

I have used the liz earle moisturiser but what puts me off is that it has no SPF but it does seem very good. I am using a neutrogena one at the moment and it seems ok.

I am 44. I have just bought a clarins night cream though.

Pancakeflipper · 07/04/2012 16:14

Thank you MossChops..... Off to spend.....

Whitershadeofpale · 07/04/2012 16:19

I use hope in a jar I'm 26 and have combination skin. I sometimes
use Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream one if I feel my skin needs extra moisture.

laptopdancer · 07/04/2012 16:28

Im using lacura as well. Its nice but I do find it sometimes irritates my eyes.

mosschops30 · 07/04/2012 16:34

Have fun pancake i love spending on skincare, its my weakness

mamababa · 07/04/2012 20:50

Whateveryou, thanks for the tip just have the moisturiser will try the cleanser. Said to womam in boots 'I need a new moisturiser for nearly 40 year old skin' and I do love it. Grin

40notTrendy · 07/04/2012 21:01

I use Clinique ddml. For dry/combination skin and it's been like coming home using it. I have dry cheeks and oily t-zone. And age.... 40! I've just ordered a Neals Yard night cream, Rose and Almond, on recommend.
