alexsmum · 05/02/2006 11:42

well- i'm a size 9! and it's impossible to buy shoes-and always get people asking if i've tried the shop for transvestites in town!!
at least you're petite and dainty!

suzywong · 05/02/2006 11:45

you know there's clearly a niche in the market for us girls with tranny sized feet

I was once laughed out of a shoe shop in Singapore

MotherInferior has dainty little feet

spacedonkey · 05/02/2006 11:46

spacedonkey · 05/02/2006 11:54

peachygirl, have you looked at duo of bath? They do boots with made to measure calf widths

peachygirl · 05/02/2006 11:58

here
A website with links to other sites big and small but most of the styles aren't really my cup of tea.
Also Barratts tall and small have a website
here
again not the best for choice but if you get them delivered to your nearest store you don't pay postage.

peachygirl · 05/02/2006 12:01

Thanks spacedonkey, they look good. some of the other sites I have looked at have been realy really expensive. I'm happy to pay for the right sort of thing but expect value for money

I'm a size 2 as well. There is one shop near me in Wimbledon that goes down to size 35 - but often I don't like the styles. Forget the high street, size 35 doesn't exist! Luckily I can get away with size 36 for trainers. Bally also does some small sizes but very expensive and a bit boring. Plus I can't wear heels, so I'm limited to flat, small shoes!

What I've found online:

Jones Bootmakers used to have small sizes, but I wonder if they've stopped this season as I did a search recently and nothing nice came up. You can return to store or get them to order it in. IME a biggish size 35.

Camper go down to a size 35. Can order online, I go to the Covent garden store. Tend to vary widely in size - the lace ups are smallish, the flatties can be too wide. The boots are quite tight fitting.

Yoox is a designer discount online store, have small sized shoes. But I found some still a bit big when ordered - got a nice pair of boots though.

Duo boots go down to a size 35. Motherinferior ordered a pair from here recently - what were they like? Quite tempted as I'm off to Bath in a few weekends to have a look.

www.prettyballerinas.com go down to a size 2 - I am very very tempted for this summer - may order a metallic gold pair and see how they fit. But they are based in Menorca - slightly worried about postage costs if they don't fit.

There is also a shop www.selve.co.uk which claim to make shoes to fit with your choice of style, heel, leather etc etc. Very expensive but looks fab - if I had a special occasion would think about going here.

Any other sources of nice-looking small shoes???

I have a few gorgeous pairs of Carvela shoes which I bought several years ago in Barkers sale and I'm hanging onto for dear life. They come up really small. Otherwise I wear boots (with socks), trainers or Birkenstocks, narrow, smallest size.

Supreme PITA isn't it??

jennifersofia · 06/02/2006 20:41

Great list, florenceuk - I will def. have to check those out.
I seem to get on well with Carvela shoes too, as they are wide enough. This is the dilemma - how to get small, wide comfortable shoes for lots of walking and cycling that don't look like comfortable shoes. I have been haunted by a friend's description of a lady in a shop, "Oh you know, she was the middle aged lady in the comfortable shoes".
Now, anyone know where to get trousers for a short person with size 10 waist, 12 hips?

Eowyn · 06/02/2006 20:43

mine are 3 but are only bit of me that's petite. used to buy 4's a lot & fall over when they fell off my feet.

JennyLee · 06/02/2006 21:43

I'm a size 2 aswell, want some grown up shoes, it is not as bad for size 3 folk though, My boots have flowers on them and I cant get any high heels

muma3 · 06/02/2006 21:44

i thought my 3's were small lol

notasheep · 06/02/2006 22:00

Hulababy · 06/02/2006 22:01

I take a size 3.5-4, so not as small as some people on here.

alexsmum · 07/02/2006 13:07

mythumbelinas · 07/02/2006 13:19

my hubby imports shoes and finds it impossible to order anything smaller than size 3 or bigger than size 8!

boooody · 07/02/2006 13:36

Hi - Next online do all their shoes/boots in a size 9 www.next.co.uk Might do small ones on there too but never had to look. I am from a family of big feet!
