What on earth do you wear to the zoo?!

So, as suggested in the title I am going to the zoo on Thursday. Am a bit because I have no idea what to wear. Weather is supposed to be between 8-10 degrees so - coat? jacket? black or dark blue jeans? Brown or black boots? I'd just like some input from lovely people

When I go to the zoo I wear nothing at all and wait to be put behind bars by the nice men in white coats.

The irony is that at Yorkshire Wildlife Park the antelopes zebras and gazelles are in the field next to the lions!

Seriously OP. I would just wear comfy clothes - espcially footwear, and layers with the top one being waterproof just in case. Outside will be a little chilly and inside will be warm.

My friend went to a wedding at our local zoo a while ago. Part of the deal is that the guests get to wander round the zoo. She looked amazing in her wedding outfit - huge statement hat, massive heels. She said as they went round looking at the animals she kept hearing people behind her muttering that she was overdressed for the zoo and how attention seeking she was.... So don't wear a wedding outfit, op.

We went as guests to a wedding that was at a zoo. Twas very surreal walking around wearing wedding garb and as you say most normally dressed people do tend to look at you as if you are slightly deranged going to the zoo like that. You kind of feel like you want a little sign to hold up or mini flyers to hand out to explain. Or maybe they should have a sign on the entrance or on the park maps to explain for you...

If you think trying to get dressed to go to the zoo is bad you should try deciding what to wear for a wedding in the zoo. Adds a whole extra dimension to trying to find a good wedding outfit! :o

As for your trip op, depending on the type of zoo it is, if there is any chance of interacting with the animals or walking beneath or throgh them so you get pooed on then I would go for stuff that will was really well and that you don't mind if they get a bit spoilt. And if there is any chance of bulls being around I'd avoid bright red. Especially bright red capes :o

Sorry, Brian. I beg to differ. I feel that the black boots with the black jeans say 'Zoo' to me far more than the other combo.

It is a toughie though.

I fink the op has long hidden this beauty.

I'd go for crocodile shoes, tortoishell glasses and a big fur coat (all real).
