So, as suggested in the title I am going to the zoo on Thursday. Am a bit Hmm because I have no idea what to wear. Weather is supposed to be between 8-10 degrees so - coat? jacket? black or dark blue jeans? Brown or black boots? I'd just like some input from lovely people Grin

Thank you in advance!

Seriously ? You can't get dressed without help ? Hmm
It's a trip to the zoo, not a fashion parade!

TheSinglePringle · 29/02/2012 00:37

Ive only been to zoo in warm weather but I guess you could wear what you normally wear

JarethTheGoblinKing · 29/02/2012 00:37

Real fur.

otchayaniye · 29/02/2012 07:18

I go to the zoo once a week and wear a range of outfits.

Don't go as a Plushie (don't google)

Don't wear a dark green Barbour and hang around the otter enclosure or else they think you're the keeper with their food and will screech for hours ....(happened to husband)

Seriously, take a coat that is easy to carry as there is a hot indoor rainforest bit, butterfly tunnel and reptile house

Also flat shoes for walking

Most people there are dressed badly, it's not a place to show off

Khaki and a pith helmet. I would accessorise with a nice over-the-shoulder blunderbuss and handlebar moustache. HTH.

MsF1t · 29/02/2012 08:12

Naturally, you would apply bootpolish to the faces of your children. They could then play the part of 'Pygmy Bearers', and carry any heavy items, like your picnic baskets or day tent. Don't forget the Pimms!

BikeRunSki · 29/02/2012 08:17

If you are going to see the lions, then go as a gazelle.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 29/02/2012 08:24

Viking helmet, wellies and a fairy dress? I've seen 2yo kids at the zoo who think this is suitable attire Wink

SilentBoob · 29/02/2012 08:29

I'd go for this sort of look.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 29/02/2012 09:06

To be fair, I once saw a woman wobbling round Twycross Zoo on something like these www.hisupplier.com/product-674603-Leopard-High-Heel-Platform-Sandals/and a miniskirt. It was a drizzly day too, I have no idea what she was thinking when she got dressed.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 29/02/2012 09:08

...perhaps her DP had said, "Today I'm going to take you somewhere really special for your birthday!" Grin

fluffiphlox · 29/02/2012 09:22

Read the bit in Scoop where Boot gets kitted out, that should help. (I mean, are you serious?):)

LackaDAISYcal · 29/02/2012 09:26

Anything you like, I doubt the animals will be paying that much attention!

It's the zoo, not the Queen's garden party.

Voidka · 29/02/2012 09:33

This thread has really cheered me up.

Trills · 29/02/2012 09:34

Jeans. Comfy shoes. A sign saying "I can't dress myself".

winefairy · 29/02/2012 09:55

You could ask Lady Gaga if you could borrow her meat dress. That would really cheer the lions up.

TheCunningStunt · 29/02/2012 09:59

Grin at this thread

M1ssBerta · 29/02/2012 10:00

Oh funny!

valiumredhead · 29/02/2012 10:00

I didn't realise there was a dress code for the zoo!

JasperJohns · 29/02/2012 10:03

I've heard it all now!

Trills Grin

valiumredhead · 29/02/2012 10:03

Actually, if you can't manage to dress yourself for a trip to the zoo I'm not sure you should be allowed out by yourself anywhere Grin

AnonymousBird · 29/02/2012 10:05

Hey?!!
It's 29th Feb not April 1st!!!

AnonymousBird · 29/02/2012 10:05

valium - oh yes! Grin
