Hello all!

Thanks Annie for that. Lots to think about. Our nursery we use is part of the free 15 hours though, so he would not need to leave.

Lots to think about.

Maybe I can work from home, especially if I conquer the German online supermarket shopping world. Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 27/02/2012 17:35

mim You can but only if you live in Berlin, maybe other big cities too but not here. I don't mind actually but I have fond memories of my first Ocado delivery when we lived in London Smile

notyummy · 27/02/2012 18:26

Oooh, sorry to hear that the dress isn't an instant keeper Ollie - is your DH going to take a view?

I stayed strong in Zara today lots of nice pastels, and really nice indigo jeans I thought.

OP posts:
blossoming · 27/02/2012 18:36

Only asda deliver here too mim. They must be raking it in. You can't move for their delivery vans!
Is it almost the time to rack up our monthly spends? Joking really!

Hopefully · 27/02/2012 18:46

Just catching up and have forgotten who linked what, but am really liking the embellished waistcoat and the classic trench. Wish that it was possible to get a classic trench in something other than black or camel.

Ollie what a shame about the dress. Don't suppose there's anything a tailor could do if it's otherwise perfect? Are you generally unimpressed with the Oushka or do you just think it's a tiny fault? I have been contemplating ordering The Dover, but only because it is the bag I mind least of all the ones I have seen recently (although am tempted to try one from the site I linked yesterday).

I can't believe I have money to burn this month (not literally, but compared to my normal dire poverty) and no time to shop/can't find anything I really need. Think it's the fact that it's the pre-SS dead zone that's putting me off, and the fact that I'm not sure if I'm going to need work clothes in the very near future.

notyummy · 27/02/2012 18:54

We have Asda, Sainburys and Tesco deliveries....but no Ocado or Waitrose.

I phoned them a year or so ago and asked when they would start and they said that research has told them that 'it's not the correct demographic.' I said 'is that because it is rural with a low average wage?' and they went all quiet.... Ah well, I guess there has to be a trade off for living somewhere we we can afford a second home as the house prices are so low... Hmm

These looked good in Zara.

Grin at MiM conquering the provincial German online grocery shopping niche!

Any chance of a photo ollie?

Good work on reports bloss. I had to write up a load before I finished- mind numbing!

I like reading about the splits in housework. Dh likes cooking and does so a few times a week but does zero cleaning or laundry and is v messy! He does take care of the majority of the paperwork and financial stuff though.

Still no baby or any signs of one-sorry!

pickledsiblings · 27/02/2012 19:25

Icey and MiM, maybe your babies are waiting 'til the Spring Smile.

We get Waitrose delivery here, v. nice.

Bloss, what did you link to on NaP?

Fritzi, I love that trench.

Hopefully, there are other colours out there, saw a nice pastle pink one on ebay - not sure of the longevity of anything other than black or camel though.

Hopefully · 27/02/2012 20:06

DHs and splitting tasks - my DH does loads, thankfully, as I would not cope if he didn't. He does childcare pretty much every evening when he comes in, and at least half of the cooking/cleaning. I do all the laundry and ironing, as he is too inefficient. He doesn't mind doing it, but I go bonkers waiting for him. He also does a lot of weekend childcare, but that's because I work a lot on the weekends. In return, though, I manage pretty much all the paperwork and finances. More than one friend has pointed out that DH is a bit of a feminist trapped in a man's body Smile.

just Shredded for the first time in 5 days. Still don't feel 100%, but all ok below the neck and I didn't push too hard.

scarfaholic · 27/02/2012 20:19

Annoying about the bag, Ollie. What is Mr Ollie's verdict on the dress?

Lovely coat, Bloss.

Hopefully, Aquascutum and Coach do trenches in various colours, I have red and pink as well as the standard beige.

OllieinOrange · 27/02/2012 20:28

Really impressed with Oushka Customer Service. Emailed back within 2 hours of receiving my whiney email and are sending a new strap.

Hopefully - the quality of the bag is great, Im still a bit hmm abut the colour of mine but like you, needed a bag and this was the one ticked most of my boxes. Think it will look better once its worn in a bit. Think the problem with mine was a small tear in the leather by the hole.

Not had the chance to show DH dress, SIL is spending the night after having a late work event nearby.

pickledsiblings · 27/02/2012 20:30

Ollie, don't you want SiL's opinion on the dress? Grin

Russianred · 27/02/2012 20:39

Looby the painting is not my arena really - I do all of the sanding and cutting in and DH does the rest of it - always when both DC are in bed. No way in hell we'd get it done otherwise.

Well done on conquering the reports Bloss. Shame about the Whistles top - I like the gape as it thins my arms out a bit - something your shredded self is in no need of!

Excellent purchase MiM - it works with so many different coloured skinnies as it picks up on all the pastels/brights in the prints. Have hardly taken it off.

Thinking of you Icey - you seem remarkably sanguine. I was perpetually livid already!

We have our second Ocado delivery on Wednesday after I finally realised that it would be a good idea to not spend half my week in the supermarket. So far, so good.

Have been thinking about the Angelina thing - maybe a clever ploy (as she seems quite clever, although nauseatingly smug) to detract from Brad's inevitable non-win, ensuring people will only be talking about her bloody leg.

Have had a bit of a meh day - lovely morning at a singing thing where both DC were gorgeous, but then called aside on pre-school pick-up as DS has been playing up for them since mid last week (pushing, not listening to adults). I knew he'd been a bit affected by DD in hospital/sharing a room with her and had tried to make up for it over the weekend with lots of one-on-one, but to no avail, it seems. They did stress that they were picking up on it as it is so out of character for him, but it still worries me. We then went on to a friend's for tea and, unsurprisingly, he was a bit of a pain. Probably too much in one day. Have given him lots of cuddles and reassurance at bedtime.

blossoming · 27/02/2012 21:23

Sounds tough red. Hang on in there.
Am watching the last of the Obese programmes on Sky. Have loved the series.
Shredded for the first time this year as have been doing 6w6p instead. Had to do both tonight as ate too much dinner.
I have money to burn and have ordered the fast selling out trench Blush. Gets me every time!

rufus101 · 27/02/2012 21:24

I just can't do online supermarket shopping. Just can't. Ive done it once, and reckon it just takes forever, and I still have to buy my veg and meat anyway.
I do more than DH, as I'm home earlier, but I am literally on the go, when I get in from work, as I like to cook the dinner for the following day. I like my own cooking and only let the child minder do it if I am pushed for time. I am totally useless at housework. Genuninely useless. It just takes me forever, I am so disorganised. I have a cleaner, and have sacked more of them. As I said to a friend the other day "if they are worse than me, they have to go", because I am truly awful. DH is great at cleaning, when he gets around to it, and he's uselss at DIY and the garden. I keep saying to him, "if you want a garden (and he does), then you have to keep on top of it every weekend or pay someone else to do it". That is why I have a cleaner.
Great coat Scarfi. You were right about the earrings! I had mine done for my First Holy Communion as well when I was 7. I was only allowed to wear plain gold studs for years and years. I was very Envy of a friend who seemed to have hundreds of earrings. DD wants to get hers done (aged 8) and every week, another of her friends seems to get it done. I don't have very strong ideas on it, but I am holding off , as I know she will just continually lose them, which will irritate me greatly.
Am LOL at your comment to the supermarket NY! Not often they get a retort like that!
NYE posted a really funny picture on her facebook here Couldn't stop laughing! All that PDA stuff is irritating as hell. She is a rip roaring personality disorder. I don't actually think she is that attractive either. Waaay too thin. In fact if you saw all those people in RL, you would be shocked how skeletal they were without the styling, the make up etc.

25% off Whistles with Grazia this week ladies, enter WH20SS12 at check out from 28th to 13 March.

blue2711 · 27/02/2012 23:50

A quick hello from me at the start of the night shift! I've been reading but no chance to post as DS and DD (oh how I love how that sounds!) have been keeping me busy. It's been full on and tiring but I'm just about coping and DH has been unusually complimentary which makes a big difference. I don't actually mind how many hrs he works (70ish a week) but like him to recognise how well I cope without him - well mostly anyway.

Couldn't agree more about nauseating Angelina and her silly right leg. No dresses really wowed me but I do love Michelle Williams. Never liked her in my beloved Dawson's Creek (Pacey!) but really rate her style now, though it's very different to mine.

My shorouk necklace has arrived. I think it's overpriced but really like it. What do you think of yours mrscb?

I wore my leopard print celliotts on Saturday and love them! Paired with pale grey marl t shirt, shrunken black blazer and black patent heels. Really enjoying wearing all the bits I got in December / January for post baby. My February tally is admirably low so I vote we do them bloss!

Sorry for me me post, need to look back really but just wanted to say am thinking of mim and icey. Nearly there now, can't wait to hear your news!

Back again soon hopefully.

Ooh to the whistles code! There's quite a lot I want...

Morning.

Lovely to hear from you Blue, glad to hear things are going well.

Stunning trench Bloss, a real investment buy.

What did DH think about the dress Ollie?

I have another scan today and then I'll be offered a sweep to try and get things going before the baby gets much bigger.

Can someone reassure lie to me that a sweep feels like a pedicure or some other beauty treatment?

blue2711 · 28/02/2012 07:22

A sweep is ok, mim, honestly. It was not much worse than a smear test and got me to 2cm dilated just like that! Also I really didn't want to be induced but ended up having the first stage hormone thingy and that was fine too. Really sorry if tmi! Good luck.

AmberNectarine · 28/02/2012 07:27

MiM I've had about 4 sweeps in each pregnancy and while I'm afraid they're not quite pedicure territory, I really didn't find them that bad at all. No worse than a VE really.

Have pretty well reached the end of my tether with that baby. She has fed all night before waking at 5am and my nipples are bleeding. I have just fed her, put her in her cot and left her. She cried for about 2 mins and went to sleep. Please god let this herald a new beginning.

Lovely trench bloss, am Envy

I have a non black/camel trench hopefully. It is leopard print, but a really nice leopard print that actually looks like something you might find on a leopard. Totally classic shape though. I absolutely love it, was a present from DH and is so different. Will wear it this week.

ReineDeSaba · 28/02/2012 08:01

mim my sweep was totally fine, and most importantly did the trick, hope all goes well today and it's successful in getting baby moving Smile
