I'm going to Boots later so will hopefully be buying some self waxing things for the bikini line. I'm a complete novice so am I likely to balls it up? anyone else do it themselves?

Yeap Morriss - knickers off and hello to the other shoppers Wink

I just don't think the creams give you anywhere near the finish that a wax does - also wouldn't personally want to be using those chemicals in that area every day.

I think it's one of those problems that you need to throw the money at.

I used to go to Oteylia Roberts in London - brazilian every 6 weeks for about £45.

You cannot beat the finish you get from a professional wax that is done well. Sadly since leaving London I have yet to find anyone as good locally.

I have considered getting an at hope ipl or similar but to be honest I'm just waiting until they become abit more advanced. Also it is hard for me to be consistent with any beauty regime that produces a 'smell' as DH complains!!! I had a no no and was using it solely on my legs but he moaned about the burnt hair smell constantly (as it is best to do it everyday) so I gave up on it. I kind of wish I hadn't as I now have some areas on my legs that are hair free and some that have a significantly reduced number of hairs per sq inch etc... I think in the future as they a.come down in price and b.become more advanced, I will invest in one but not just yet...Smile

depends on how much - ahem - gardening you're doing.

I use nair or veet strips but I'm only going for a neat small triangle / bikini line. The trick is to warm the strips up enough so the wax actually adheres properly. I leave the box on the radiator for a few minutes or just blow each one with a hairdryer before peeling apart iyswim. The rubbing in your hands never really works.

But then I also do my underarms and I know people have complained about that being painful etc so I might be a toughie compared to others.

You'll just have to try it and see?
