Sorry for poor thread title but I am hopeless at rhyming at the best of times...
Unbelievable how quickly we filled the last thread!

Had one hour on Friday before the meeting started and used my time very efficiently and bought these. They are not quite as high as the 50/50s but suit me better. Was hugging the shopping bag close to me on the train back home yesterday Grin.

ollie Such a shame that your DH isn't going to go with the job offer over here. Oh, the fun we could have!

hopefully Having you on this thread is great and I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I hope your mother doesn't find any more tidying tasks for you today. You look fab in your wedding pictures.

annie Hope you got all your work done last night and have the chance to get some rest today.

red We have our hob on our kitchen island too. We couldn't decide on backsplash for ages. Haven't had one for ages and it is absolutely fine. I do most food preparation stuff on the island anyway.

Have lovely Sundays everyone!

Am watching the Marni video. Lovely stuff, I hadn't heard of Imogen Poots but she is lovely looking.

I agree totally that I could really see you in that Marni Fritzi.

Ants I'm glad you have something as a treat, lovely links before btw.

Bloss yes definitely, even better if the dc do it.

MarshaBrady · 05/02/2012 12:58

Ollie a round of applause for the fabulous roulade! I did actually see that episode, looked very hard.

loobylu3 · 05/02/2012 16:40

Sledging/ skating sounds like a lot of fun, Ollie.
No snow here yet as not as cold as yesterday.
MIL, who looks a good 10 years younger and has the energy of a 30 year old, celebrated her 70th birthday yesterday and we are now hoping to visit Singapore for a belated celebration in the Easter holidays. Should be lovely to have a break in the heat!!

Many, many thanks to everyone for the CS feedback. I was always v sleep deprived post SVD (laboured over night/ in the night twice, third time around, couldn't sleep as generally uncomfortable, then contractions started at 5.30am) so lack of exhaustion would be a v positive thing!
Obviously, I am concerned about the potential for surgical complications of CS. It sounds as if everyone on this thread has been fortunate in that regard.
Hoping to have some help by the time baby arrives (v generous PIL offering to help with this) otherwise will definitely be swayed towards SVD out of necessity.
Will see how I feel as pg progresses.

blue- sympathies. I think the count down at the end of pg is hard, particularly as you feel huge, uncomfortable, exhausted due to poor sleep, etc.
My DH is also not the type to fuss over me at all. He expects me to get on with things maybe because I normally do and because he has a lot on his plate too, I suppose. I agree with MIM though that if you explain how rubbish you are feeling, you will probably get far more sympathy and cuddles. I am guilty of expecting my DH to just know how I am feeling without me actually communicating it at all!
MIM- v pleased that you have been discharged and that your parents are helping with DS. You really do need to rest at the moment. Lovely too that your DH has taken the week off to look after you. Doctors orders- lots of red meat, greens, eggs, fruit, etc for your iron levels, healthy snacks and keep warm. :) Hope DH is good at cooking.

zembo- you are v kind to babysit your friend's 3DC (similar ages to mine,a year older a piece).

NY- fabulous Paris hotel!

Thanks for the LM tip, red

My Wardrobe necklace is going back tomorrow and have decided to leave the Byron bag (prefer the Dover if I am honest) so no spend for Feb yet. I am thinking of getting another pair of TS Leighs though as they are SO comfortable. Frustratingly, they don't have my size in most of the colours. I have also bee perusing the Lily and Lionel website after recent scarf links and I just love the prints- v tempting!

loobylu3 · 05/02/2012 16:40

Was giggling at your 'bump credentials', red and not sure what you mean!

notyummy · 05/02/2012 16:47

Looby- you may be in Singapore at the same time as us. How spooky!

loobylu3 · 05/02/2012 16:52

Seriously, NY?! We should have a S/pore meet up :)
Are you staying somewhere v smart?

notyummy · 05/02/2012 17:37

Family holiday so slight practicality over smartness issues Wink.

From memory, Park Royal on Beach Road for a few nights and Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa Resort for a few nights. We are there either side of Easter rather than exactly Easter itself IFYSWIM.

blossoming · 05/02/2012 18:25

DH used to lecture an external programme in S'pore at Easter. I loved going with him, but did use to feel rather large there. They are all the same size as zembo! Also I had the worst hair imaginable. The humidity was shocking! And I was growing out my short hair, and it was pre ghd... Normal straighteners didn't stand a chance. Really happy memories though.

No snow here today, and mild!

Glad you're discharged mim, and glad doctor looby is here to guide you! Hurrah for your DH and DM too.

I was looking at another thread last night, the one about spanx swimwear, and linked to miraclesuit. As it happened, they had a berry coloured one in my size and half price. As WIT said, the winter sales is the time to buy swimwear!

Russianred · 05/02/2012 19:28

Evening all, am stuffed after a big roast followed by apple & ginger crumble - this new kitchen is doing nothing for my waistline, let me tell you. Bought some lovely bits for the kitchen wall today and got them up and went overboard on Kilner jars and have put everything we own into them and in the larder. Am I sad to confess to how much this task thrilled me?!

So glad to hear you're at home and that DH is there with you MiM and how great for DS to have that time with his grandparents. Hope you're managing to get lots of R&R in. I can really recommend The Good Wife in 4oD for good R&R fodder. Hope your appt goes well on Tuesday.

I really want to visit Singapore - my Mum is leaving this summer after 5 years there and it is more than a little pathetic that I haven't managed to get over.

Looby the things I base my scientific predicting on are the usual - preferred food during pregnancy, how much sickness and size/way in which the bump is presenting. Obvs it's all B.S. but I have never, ever been wrong.

Emo76 · 05/02/2012 19:39

evening all

inspired by all the scarf chat, and liking the colours, I have purchased this livia crinkle scarf from Whistles. Now to memories Wendy's numerous ways to tie...!

Also went to Brora yesterday and got some lovely red fingerless gloves and in the sale-ends and this v neck thermal bargain is SUPER cosy. DH says the fingerless gloves are like TRAMPS gloves. Give me strength!

ants that's a lovely MJ bag and boy will you deserve it!

mim so glad you are home, and well done DH. still thinking of you and sending get well wishes.

looby I have no elective CS experience to share, it sounds like people have varied experiences of recovery!

fleecy oh I love your photos!

olly big cheer for the roulade success

where is pickles? - hope all is well.

Hopefully · 05/02/2012 20:24

Red your kitchen adventures are making me Envy. All sounds lovely, great that you're enjoying the space!

Emo my mum bought that thermal top the other day, she's really pleased with it.

I am doing another few days of Shred level 2. I hate it, I find it so much worse than Level 3. Need to intersperse with BFBM for extra exercise boost though, as weight loss has totally plateaued, despite fairly sensible diet. The jumbo bag of Haribo that we are working our way through is possibly not helping, however. Am also sporting fetching face mask at the moment - I am all about the Sunday night glamour today.

VerityBrulee · 05/02/2012 22:13

Argh, lost a long post earlier, but to summarise....

Hope all who have had snow enjoyed it Smile I was relieved we didn't have any this time, the house we are living in is so draughty and it has been so cold for the last few days. Temp went up a bit today and I was so happy to shed a few layers!

mim so glad to hear that you are home and on the mend.

bloss hope you enjoyed the match!

emo I wouldn't survive winter without cashmere wristwarmers

ollie I think you should enter the next GBB

looby I have had 2 elective CS follwing a ventouse with ds1. The CS were a doddle to recover from, I was up and walking within 6 hours, no problems at all, v little pain (didn't need morphine or anything strong for the pain) I wouldn't hesitate to have another.

blue hope you're getting lots of attention and reassurance from dh. Not sure if I've said this before, but ds1 took having a baby brother totally in his stride. When dd came home from the hospital, her 2 brothers were so enchanted that they sat beside her moses basket watching her sleep! I have to remind them of that regularly.

bonsoir I too have made arrangements for the school run on March 8th!

red glad you are really enjoying your kitchen. Having just finalised the plans for ours, I had a brainwave today and have decided to relocate the kitchen to another room and will have to start all over again. Poor kitchen designer!

If you're having a snow day tomorrow - enjoy!

Ooh verity, my soulmate/partner in crime!

I think I'm planning on buying the whole bang lot and then trying it on in the peace of my own home and returning what doesn't work!

FritziGreenEyes · 06/02/2012 09:00

Have pencilled 8th March for Marni @ H&M into my diary. Smile Think a lot of the colours would be perfectly suited for Autumns though.

There is some snow up on a mountain close to where we live. Took DD and her friend sledging yesterday but the wind was so cold that we had to leave after less than an hour.

verity I often have "brainwaves" with regards to the interior design of our house. It drives DH insane as he is happy with everything the way it is.

red Glad to hear you are enjoying your new kitchen. Food sounds delicious!

ollie Hope your DH got back safe from ice-skating.

mim and blue Put your feet up and keep yourself and your babies safe and warm Smile.

Where are pickled, icey and rufus?

I love this wallpaper. Maybe a bit too much for a whole wall but I am thinking about covering the front of an old IKEA chest of drawers with it.

pickledsiblings · 06/02/2012 09:10

Late start this morning so time for a quick post!

MiM, you are such a good patient, I am seriously awed at how calm you are about your current bout of illness. I hope you had a good night's sleep and are feeling more comfortable today. So glad that your DH is being a star for you and that your Parents have stepped in to help.

Annie, NY, Bloss, Emo and any other working mums out there, I am also seriously in awe of how you keep going - I was so close to resigning this weekend. It's that awful feeling of giving less than your best to everything...arrgh!

On a more positive note, lovely DD has done well in her entrance exam to a good, very traditional, selective independent school and she has been invited for a scholarship interview on Tuesday. She prefers this school to the state Grammar option - typical! [wishes DH was a banker or some other successful City type instead of a lowly scientist]

Red, hope you get some good job news soon.

Big wave and kisses to the rest of you, have a lovely week Smile.

[Quite nice Lily and Lionel scarves on the Outnet btw]

MidnightinMoscow · 06/02/2012 09:12

Morning all.

Yes, where is pickled?

Caught up with Red magazine last night, I really like a bag from Next of all places in there, p39 but not on the Next website. It's tan but with some turquoise trim, hoping to explore real life shops soon.

Goodness, the positive virtues of clothes and fashion are keeping me going at the moment, by playing out mental fantasies of spring/summer outfits in my head to stop me from going stir crazy from this house arrest. Red those fuchsia jeans are very much part of it! I saw some styled with a turquoise skinny belt too which looked great.

MidnightinMoscow · 06/02/2012 09:16

There she is! Well done to DD pickled, great news. Sorry to hear that work has been stressful. It's a baptism of fire to juggle with DC's but it will slot in place, promise!

Fritzi I can confirm that that wallpaper is lovely, they had a large sample hanging in our F&B last week.

FritziGreenEyes · 06/02/2012 09:44

pickled Good to see you! You must be so proud of DD Smile. Hope you'll find a way a work/home balance you can be happy with soon.

mim Think I will go and pick up some F&B samples as a reward for finishing one of my projects. Have set myself a deadline for Thursday.

Pickled I a, enormously impressed by you and all the other mothers with 'proper' jobs. I absolutely wouldn't be able to keep all the plates spinning!

I am still brainstorming self employed ideas - have been thinking of doing something like colour analysis (Everything and have a silly amount in common as well as DSs of the same age!) on top of my teeny little business for a year or two, but hard to find the perfect fit. Our life is very very uncomplicated (albeit somewhat poverty stricken at times), so it will take the perfect opportunity to make a compromise on that ease of existence remotely appealing!

Fritzi that wallpaper looks perfect for chest of drawers or similar.

Am awaiting courier with VWA dress! Hope he comes early, we're out at a friend's this afternoon.

Hopefully · 06/02/2012 09:53

am enormously impressed.

pickledsiblings · 06/02/2012 10:12

Have just bought the lovely (although not so much on her) Blue bonnett J Brands to cheer myself up.
