Just tried on the ankle boots with skinny jeans, and was instantly transported back to 1982. All I need is a pair of legwarmers, a fringed scarf, some bad eyeliner and a mullet, and I'll be sweet 15 again. Grin

TheReturnOfStropperella · 07/02/2012 21:29

Working from home, MrsS?Grin Your party must have gone well.Grin

Really like those watches. Hmm, think I would go for a Swiss Railways one. Very nice.

BD, fantastic news about the non-survey.

TheReturnOfStropperella · 07/02/2012 21:30

Grin @ CV in her time machine

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/02/2012 21:31

Blue eyeliner, CV, I think. And a nice frosted pink lippy.

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/02/2012 21:33

BD - I often have to remind DH about his prescription... Grin

motherinferior · 07/02/2012 21:48

Mr Inferior would rather love a prescription like that as long as it came with a rider (fnar) 'you don't have to talk to her first' Grin

Ho yes, DH got something from the doc to "prove" he was allergic to guinea pigs, so that we wouldn't have to have Piggy and Wiggy to stay again!

Blackduck · 08/02/2012 06:58

MrsS it wasn't a French doctor was it? :)
Ds got an aware for his improvement in literacy, he is most pleased.
Today's task is to see if we can join the housing chain together and get dates.

bigTillyMint · 08/02/2012 07:02

ruby and BD, that's exactly what I was thinking! DH would kill for that prescriptionGrin

BD, what's an "aware" for literacy? Good Luck on the house front.

And on the celebrations front, I have just completed the 30 day shred! Yay!
CV is it your birthday or are you forward planning?[wnik]

Blackduck · 08/02/2012 08:34

award clearly my literacy is rubbish....

Blackduck · 08/02/2012 08:35

BTM - has it made a difference? - lost weight? lost inches?

TheReturnOfStropperella · 08/02/2012 09:53

BD, how lovely that your ds got an award for his efforts! Excellent. Hope the effects last for a long time :)

Congratulations, BTM. You must be seriously toned now. Do you get an "I am shredded" certificate? Grin

Wherever MrsS's dh's doctor is, I bet the male patients are queuing round the block. Thinking about it, it's actually quite a good ploy to overcome the notorious manly resistance to going to the doctor's. "I prescribe lots of sex, red wine and oh, I'll just excise that nasty-looking mole on your back."

bigTillyMint · 08/02/2012 12:31

I am more toned than before, but that's not saying much! I will need to get back to it after the hols, preferably with a diet too Sad

I should have been able to work that one out BD - well done to your DS!

CointreauVersial · 08/02/2012 13:16

BTM - my birthday is next Friday, and we'll still be in Devon, so I thought my family could do with a little "forward planning reminder".

Ditto Valentine's Day.

I haven't been running all week. The snow isn't really an excuse; one of my colleagues went for a 14 mile run on the North Downs in six inches of the stuff on Sunday. Having said that, she is a nutter.

And I am expecting to eat all sorts of unhealthy stuff in Devon, so expect to come home the size of a house. Back on the low-carb threads, methinks.

herbaceous · 08/02/2012 13:28

Hi ladies

Thoroughly enervated by toddler activities. Meeting plus play session at toy library of which I am chair. I had the bright idea of making the committee, play workers, volunteers, etc, wear badges, to differentiate them from ordinary punters. However, this means I get pestered all the time by parents nagging me about the fact that we shouldn't serve orange juice as it aggravates precious Oisin's eczema, etc etc. Just shut up. I don't care.

Yesterday was a soft play session somewhere slightly too big for DS, so I spent two hours climbing up, under and through obstacles made for energetic four-year-olds.

CV - love those Swiss station watches. Was going to buy DP one for his birthday, but was too tight. And in Devon, can't you just have cream teas without the scone? Just spoonfuls of cream and jam?

I must prevent DP going to the doctor if he may be ordered to do more sex. I can't be arsed.

Blackduck · 08/02/2012 14:05

Herbs you made me :)
We don't do valentines here. In fact one year my collegues and I were discussing it and where Shock that dp has never bought me a card, they asked what I would do if he did, to which I replied 'I'd assume he was having an affair' :)

bigTillyMint · 08/02/2012 16:55

CV, there's no way that you could be the size of a house in a week. I, on the other hand will be eating cheese and bread and cheese and French sausages and cheese and wine and cheese and ......

BD, I was just wondering if anyone else does valentines! DH always makes out our skiing trip is my valentines prezzie (though it is him and the DC who are the ski-heads)

I am just wondering how DD's boyfriend will send her a card as we will be in France and I'm not even sure he knows her address (pre-teen romances seem to exist on texting. She has used 2900 texts so far this monthShock Lucky she has unlimited texting on her pay and go!)

wilbur · 08/02/2012 17:11

Hmmm, Valentines Day. It's a tricky one in our household and we tend to be a bit random and therefore mismatched about whether we do gifts or just a token thing. I guess it depends on how I'm feeling vis a vis romance levels. Last year was a v good example - dh bought me some lovely perfume from Jo Malone and something else (knickers? book? can't remember Blush) and I gave him, wait for it, drum roll.... three quarters of a packet of Smarties.

Blackduck · 08/02/2012 18:10

Had you eaten all the orange ones?

TheReturnOfStropperella · 08/02/2012 19:16

Har har at CV making it to the size of a house. Even if you ate 5 cream teas a day for a week, you would not even make it to the size of a very small shed Grin Grin Anyway "Feh!" to those second-rate Devon cream teas. The ones in Dorset are much better. Especially with the scones wot I make myself and my mum's jam. It's about the only bit of baking I can actually do. Grin

And BTM, you are a tall slender person. I do not think you need a diet!

Herbs, I did snort at your description of the toy library goings on.

TheReturnOfStropperella · 08/02/2012 19:22

Mmm, I am remembering that during my birthday strop, I shouted at dh "And you know that deal with have about not bothering with Valentine's Day? Well that deal is OFF this year." Oops.
