Are you all nursing hangovers or just clearing up the post Christmas mess?

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 17/01/2012 08:55

Lots of cross-posting! Yes tis under the name Tilly Mint (I had to swallow a few snurks as I said it)

HuffyTheSamphireSlayer · 17/01/2012 09:02

I am so crepey at the moment that I rustle when I walk. I am nursing the vain hope that this is just a temporary condition caused by the cold weather and central heating. Über-crepey with a Brillo pad on my head. I am looking goooood

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2012 09:05

Well I have the gunt of the year, despite 2 weeks of the dreaded shred. And a bad back to go with it. I am feeling my age!

Also, I don't think my new exercise regime is working. I think it may be making me fatter. Probably because after I've done the circuits class I have a big glass of wine and a packet of crisps Grin. Anyway, I have just found that I can't get into some trousers that are a Monsoon size 10 (i.e probably about a 14 really). I have ordered one of the Shred things. Am sure that doing the Shred is probably worth half a bottle of wine and 2 packets of crisps. Grin

Blackduck · 17/01/2012 09:13

Nope skip was not full.....(and I mean not even level to the sides, not piled up a la a pizza hut salad.)
I am using the fact am ill as an excuse for doing no exercise at the moment. Jillian looks at me balefully, but I intend to chuck her in a packing box soon and she can stay there for a few months weeks.
Also had birthday so much pizza and wine and stuff was consumed.

Gravity is seriously depressing me. I think the exercise is speeding up the movement of fat down my body. My face and neck are getting thinner and wrinklier and my arse, er, isn't.

DukesOfTripHazard · 17/01/2012 11:16

Snort at Huffy's locals idea of diversity Grin. I too am feeling the crepe. Also wild and desperate nostalgia about the kids growing up. Apart from DD2's non-stop prattle, noise, movement this is a golden time. DD1 in particular is adorable these days/at the moment. She's so witty and quick and cuddly, lovely company. Oh well. Have felt quite sad last few days, mostly pmt but also partly down to travelling from the 35-44 group to 45-54 group next month. Ah well, you can't fight shitty city hall. I am doing the Davina Fit DVD and trying to add the 15 mins of yoga on the end as well. Spend the whole time thinking 'this is probably not good for my shoulder/back/knees...' and nearly stopping then forcing self back in the groove. Beanbags definitely a challenge CV. I'd be of the once I'm in, I'm in school of thought. Do you make sure you've got all essential kit close to hand before your descent?

BTM - Stop that. The boots made me question your identity, it was the swishy blonde blow dry that confirmed it. Norty girl Grin

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2012 11:40

Dukes, I know what you mean about the kids growing up. I had a tearful time when DD had started in Y7 and I realised that she was no longer my little girl Sad

No time to get a swishy blow dry before Friday, so I will be looking like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards. But I might wear the boots Smile

BD have you solved the mystery of the missing skip yet?

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2012 12:00

Oh, and on the S&B front, it is over half-way through Jan and I haven't bought myself any S&B stuff Smile How are you doing ruby?

CointreauVersial · 17/01/2012 13:06

Dukes - I'm 45 next month too (there, I've said it). In exactly one calendar month, in fact.

I shall no longer be filling in surveys, but I will endeavour to keep up the running.

Anyway, sofa arrived safely this morning (annoyingly, just as I was loading the car with squabbling children, so I haven't yet seen it in situ). Beanbags are definitely a young person's game; once sat down I felt like a helpless beetle lying on its back.

BD - Skip-nicking! I've never heard of such a thing. It isn't something you can just stick under your jacket and run off with, after all. Would you really be liable?

As for S&B purchases.....well, I didn't take the pledge to not buy anything, but I've been fairly restrained so far this month. I have leafed through the new Boden catalogue rather more times than is necessary, though. Blush

Blackduck · 17/01/2012 13:21

Skip-nicking does happen apparently and would have cost us £650 + VAT.
Dp phoned today - 'Mr Blackduck we have no record of you having a skip'. Dp points out there was a large yellow thing taking up most of our drive for three days and a debit on his credit card. Finally agree they did deliver skip. 'Mr BD we have no record of collecting a skip'. Well, as you had no record of delivering it, could you possibly double-check that. Oh, yes, we DID collect a skip. Sorry about that, monumental cockup, will deliver mini skip free of charge today - which doubtless will sit on the drive for several months!
I have failed on S&B no buy front and ordered a dress from celtic sheepskin - I blame MI as I had never heard fo the site until she linked to it several threads ago.....
Looking at schools for ds tomorrow - he has announced he is NOT going to the bigger one becuase they have to wear a shirt and tie in the winter, he will go to the smaller one becuase they wear gold shirts and that is closest to his favourite colour (yellow....)

Oh God, that sounds horrific. And no sport whilst it's in? DH tells stories of playing matches with his arm in plaster..... Would the op be soon? Good Luck Smile

Men! At least it's early in the morning - it's awful having to wait for an op when you are starving. Hope it goes well.
