Zara I love almost everything about you apart from the fact that your clothes look great on first wear and crap after a few washes. Would pay more for stuff to last a bit!

noddyholder · 15/12/2011 17:26

Tops are sometimes very tight. Jeans are goof for me jackets esp fitted make me look like a stuffed sausage

noddyholder · 15/12/2011 17:26

good

Cinquefoil · 15/12/2011 17:27

Your clothes are so badly made it's a wonder anyone ever buys them.

OllieinOrange · 15/12/2011 17:31

Your shoes are oh so lovely, but oh so flippin high.

Cybbo · 15/12/2011 17:35

Their shoes only fit Sylvanian families

PLUS

to work there you have to be suprememely HACKED off ALL the time

Cinquefoil · 15/12/2011 17:35

Aaah - I do actually have a pair of ankle boots from Zara that I love.

KatieScarlett2833 · 15/12/2011 17:36

YY to the freaky sizing.

But I forgive you because I love you.

Cankulzof · 15/12/2011 17:39

don't they make the trousers super-long because it gives you the option to fuck them up with wonderweb neatly tailor them to your desired length?

celticlassie · 15/12/2011 17:43

Freaky freaky sizing. A large jacket didn't fit but a small top (from the same range) did. B@stards.

SilverSixpence · 15/12/2011 19:21

I got an AWFUL tshirt from there, the sleeve hems had no elastic in them so they were impossible to roll up/down. And I never buy trousers from there because of the insane lengths.

willybreeder · 15/12/2011 19:34

I agree with cybbo, always surly sales assistants!

Ilovepigs · 15/12/2011 19:56

I love the look of Zara clothes but they are not kind to people with norks.

I console myself by buying their shoes and handbags instead.

winterfox · 15/12/2011 19:58

i was in there today and thought it was quite a bland shop

HavingAnOffDAy · 15/12/2011 19:59

What Ilovepigs said

I find their sleeves really tight too & I don't think I have massive arms. Saw some nice lace tops in there last week but couldn't buy any as I couldn't get them on my arms Xmas Angry

stressheaderic · 15/12/2011 20:08

My love for Zara was born when living in Spain as it was all cheap as chips.

I still love it all - my favourite ever work skirt suit is from there and is worn regularly, you cannot beat them for trenchcoats, shift dresses or knitwear.
But yes - the sizes are random and the assistants are miserable (apart from on menswear actually, they are pretty helpful).

I love the way they always staple your receipt to your debit code receipt. No other shop does this. A while back, a miserable assistant went to do the stapling thing, only to find it was all out of staples....time stood still for a minute and I thought Armageddon was on its way. Everything went quiet and I'm sure the lights flickered. She asked me in a panicky voice if I'd be ok with the two documents flailing wildly without the security of a staple (or words to that effect), and you know what, I was.

Love you still, Zara.

minciepie · 15/12/2011 20:42

I love Zara EXCEPT for their love of colours which suit Spanish brunettes not pasty Brits English roses. Chartreuse anyone?

Kewcumber · 15/12/2011 20:47

lovely childrens skinny jeans though.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/12/2011 21:02

I have a fab winter coat from there but honestly zara lay off the bloody polyester.

partyhats · 15/12/2011 21:05

Agree about the polyester, love the style of their blouses but its just so sweaty!!

EldonAve · 15/12/2011 21:07

agree some of the sizing is out
uber skinny mate tried on a v nice lace top - she got trapped in the thing it was so tight

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/12/2011 21:07

I hate Zara. The quality is poor, the sizing is insane and I totally object to neeing a large to have a hope of fitting into anything (I am size 12). And the trousers are made for giraffes - skinny giraffes. And it looks like a jumble sale. And a polyester jacket I liked the look of (until I touched it and found that it was polyester) was seventy pounds. I've given up going in there.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/12/2011 21:08

needing

FreyaoftheNorth · 15/12/2011 21:11

Yes. The way that most of the items I like there only seem to be manufactured in size Medium. Bizarre.

Matsikula · 15/12/2011 21:23

....the fact that the buttons always fall off your clothes.

....the fact that despite the Spanish not being known as an unusually tall nation, your trousers are ridiculously long- it is such a transparent ploy to get people to pay extra for your alteration service.

...the fact that when I do find something sturdily made, in a decent fabric, it will probably be beige, brown or maroon, and therefore hideous on me.
