all the european clothing places have freaky sizing, zara, mango, esprit, etc

NanAstley · 16/12/2011 06:17

I have never gone into Zara and come out empty-handed. Ditto Mango. And their stuff hasn't worn out any worse than other mid-range stuff...still have a Zara top I bought when I was nineteen. I do try to work that into the conversation every now and then. I still wear a top that I bought when nineteen. Nineteen, you understand? Grin

Agree with freak sizing. Sometimes a L is so tight I could walk straight into a Page 3 shoot. and sometimes a S hangs off me Confused

Have just bought one of their leather bags for Ds to give his GF. Nearly £80 and being repaid back very slowly.

Hope the quality reflects the price.....And I hated the website with the 'fade out' click buttons.

shelldockley · 16/12/2011 10:07

Does anyone else find the stores hard to navigate? I can't put my finger on it, but the clothes aren't arranged like other stores, like say, Topshop. I have to really put the effort in to looking for clothes I like, I always find something if I persevere, but if I'm short on time I'll walk in and walk straight back out again.

DonaAna · 16/12/2011 10:16

I'm very skinny and usually wear Zara size L. Not sure whether their clothes are meant for humans. Hate the synthetics - why are such beautifully styled pieces so poorly made? That said, I bought a feather gilet from them and it gets lots of compliments everywhere (looks stupid on the pic but nice IRL).

ameliagrey · 16/12/2011 12:45

The only thing I've ever bought is a T shirt.

I do not like Zara.

Quality is poor.

Sizing is weird.

Most unsuitable for women my age- over 40, even with careful choosing.

Looks like a junble sale most of the time- stores are untidy.

missmiss · 16/12/2011 13:03

I love the trousers because I am very tall - it 's great not having to search through the racks for long length trousers, which are inevitably only available in a size 6 or a size 16. Agree that their sleeves are weirdly tight though. I have nary a trace of a bingo wing and I have got stuck in their sleeves before.

sedgieloo · 16/12/2011 13:05

I find trousers/jackets great as I'm tall and they are long in the leg and arm. Dresses almost always look weird, short waist-ed and always to much above the knee odd given the length in everything else. Their polo necks are great at 9.99 last forever and brill for work btw, I have all the colours

Emo76 · 16/12/2011 19:45

The buttons always fall off their clothes
