Wearing jeans tucked into boots ... is this for skinnies only too?

It's a good look on other people, but when I do it I look all weird (a sort of legs with a bulbous bit at the top effect)

Is this another fashion only for skinnies?

What works well on the top half?

Yes, I really think it is.

spacedonkey · 04/01/2006 17:50

I thought you might say that

yep, just for skinnies.

spacedonkey · 04/01/2006 18:14

I feel like I was the only one who didn't realise ...

you're brave even for trying it! a skinny young thing look IMO
Saw a fabulous looking girl today wearing just that and she looked amazing (was tall, slim, young and pretty, grrrrrrr)

Blossomhill · 04/01/2006 18:41

I constantly wear jeans tucked into boots and am def. not skinny.
I always wear a longish top that goes past my waist to hide any bits I want hidden.
However am on a diet and hoping to be skinny enough to wear a cropped top ;)
Infact my incentive to diet is knowing that I will be in a bikini in 7 months!

spacedonkey · 04/01/2006 18:44

you are gorgeous though bh ... !

I think my problem is that I'm all out of proportion. I've got thin legs but a flabby middle. Hence the bulbous top effect.

have to be kate moss

Blossomhill · 04/01/2006 18:46

Aww thanks Spacedonkey I wish though!

Now you are very gorgeous and glam I have to say! You would look good in a bin bag I think!

spacedonkey · 04/01/2006 18:47

(she is gorgeous though, I've seen her and it's true! )

How much do you want SD?

marthamoo · 04/01/2006 18:53

I think it's for skinnies too But you are exceeding gorgeous and would look good in a binbag, as blossom points out. Perhaps we should start a trend - the binbag look. Actually I went to a party once where you had to make yourself an outfit out of binbags. Ahhh....youth.

spacedonkey · 04/01/2006 18:55

now i look like an attention whore

Well, if the boot fits...

welshboris · 04/01/2006 19:15

Try a pair on with a floaty top to cover your belly, if you feel comfortable then go for it.

hoxtonchick · 04/01/2006 19:17

errr, i am definitely not skinny but have been known to wear jeans tucked into boots. not skinny ones though, so they kind of spill out over the top - matches my tummy. it might be a bit 2004 though.....

cupcakes · 04/01/2006 19:20

I am a (post Christmas) size 14 and yet wear boots in jeans.
Agree with Hoxton that they are a bit over (not where I live though - I probably seem incredibly fashion forward!).

spacedonkey · 04/01/2006 23:59

oh if they're over I don't need to worry then!

what's not over?

OP posts:
marthamoo · 05/01/2006 00:00

SD, you live in London and you don't know they're over? There's no blimmin' hope for me out here in the sticks then.

spacedonkey · 05/01/2006 00:01

i still see plenty of women wearing em

not to mention ponchos - now they're really over

OP posts:
marthamoo · 05/01/2006 00:07

Ponchos are cutting edge in Macc, I'll have you know (I sold mine on ebay - unworn).

spacedonkey · 05/01/2006 00:09

So that's sorted then. Crimplene slack suit it is.
