Feeling a bit fed up as I have just spend a small fortune some money on a some bare minerals stuff. I was so impressed when I tried it out, dp said I looked 10 years younger However my forehead has just got really itchy and strangely the sides of my nose Hmm.

Havent tried that one but the Clinique mineral powder foundation made me red and blotch/itchy. Attractive : /

Yes - I had a bad reaction, about 20 mins after application it burns, and then my skin goes red when I take it off. yes it is a bugger especially after forking out fifty quid for the set.

However, try Lily Lolo - you can buy samples for £2 or so a pot, I ordered a tenners worth of different colours, and it doesn't react on me at all.

janx · 17/11/2011 16:51

I thought they were all natural - don't usually fork out so much so am gutted.

Thanks Lord - will try lily lolo

Anyone want to buy the set off me? Grin

ebay?

tethersend · 17/11/2011 16:53

Where can you order the samples from, Lord?

tethersend · 17/11/2011 16:53

Arf- that sounded like a prayer Grin

monkeysmama · 17/11/2011 17:13

It gets a bit itchy on me sometimes, mainly in the sun but it passes and isn't so bad I take it off. I've put it down to the brushes and all the buffing.

VivaLeBeaver · 17/11/2011 17:15

Apparently the bare minerals stuff has bismuth in which some people react to. Though the matte version doesn't.

Was it the first time you'd used it.?

janx · 17/11/2011 17:18

I had it applied by the shop staff and it was alright, but did itch a bit later on. However did it myself today and it was worse. I have the matt btw

Just to give you the heads up you can't sell used make up on ebay now a days.

What have you bought? I'd be inclined to take it back.

I went to see my orange lady today and got 3 new eyeshadows and a new buxom lippy!

LordAlconleighsEntrenchingTool · 17/11/2011 20:15

I like my new Mn name - getting used to people calling me Lord. Grin

You can only buy Lilylolo online I think www.lilylolo.co.uk/

FoofFighters · 17/11/2011 22:06

I had an itchy face using bare escentuals. I tried lily lolo and it's much better, although I don't think my skin will ever love being buffed with a brush.

Definitely try returning it!

Gabio79 · 17/11/2011 23:01

Lily Lolo retails in some shops and salons, me being one of them!! Go to
www.lilylolo.co.uk/stockists.asp to find your nearest, I welcome people to come and try before they buy because it's a pretty good product and sooooo reasonably priced compared to bare esscentuals xx

timidviper · 17/11/2011 23:08

The only reaction I had was horror on seeing myself in it!!

No matter how little I put on it still looks really caked even when it's not giving any coverage at all. I have quite good skin (even if I say so myself) and it makes me look like the texture of orange peel!

Gabio79 · 17/11/2011 23:43

If you've good skin anyway how about just using a tinted moisturiser, which I quite often find actually have quite a bit of colour and then just set that with a finishing powder?

skandi1 · 18/11/2011 00:28

Yes. Both matte and other one.

I have far too sensitive skin for buffing with a brush so I apply mineral make up with a flocked sponge.

Or I tap a small amount out in the palm of my hand and then put a few drops of water into it and apply to face with fingers. This avoids any reaction or sensitivity from applying with brush. It also avoids showing up pores or patchiness. And last longer.

I used to use Lily Lolo but it dried my skin out and irritated. I suffer from rosacea so LL is probably excellent for those who don't.

I now use Inika. I really rate it. You don't need a seperate concealer or finishing powder and it's lovely and soft and not drying. It's the nicest one I have tried so far. Also if you did apply Inika with a brush then there is no buffing required. Just brush on in downward strokes. Buffing, apparently, is only required with mineral makeup with fillers in order to force the makeup into the pores of your skin to stay on.

If you are itching, and don't suffer from any skin conditions then I'd say it's the buffing. Try to apply it by adding water as described above. Super quick too and saves faffing with brushes.

valiumredhead · 18/11/2011 08:22

Could be the brush as the BE ones are real goat hair.

PinotHolidaysAreComing · 18/11/2011 09:43

BE made breakout in spots so I now use Lilylolo. I think it's the bismuth in it.

Feelunique do LL with free p&p btw.

I didn't know ebay had changed their rules.

I'd return it OP.

valiumredhead · 18/11/2011 09:48

LL do very nice samples for £1.20 for about 2 weeks' worth of foundation so you can try before you commit to a big pot of it.

LordAlconleighsEntrenchingTool · 18/11/2011 09:50

I didn't know you could apply it with water - I will give that a go as it is a trail and error to avoid making mineral make up look too cakey.

LordAlconleighsEntrenchingTool · 18/11/2011 09:50

Yes those small pots from Lilylolo last for ages.

janx · 18/11/2011 11:00

oh thanks everyone - will take it back on Monday - unfortunately I don't have good skin so need something. Will definately try lily lolo. Hope they take it back as I have used it

valiumredhead · 18/11/2011 11:44
