Feeling a bit fed up as I have just spend a small fortune some money on a some bare minerals stuff. I was so impressed when I tried it out, dp said I looked 10 years younger However my forehead has just got really itchy and strangely the sides of my nose Hmm.

Can anyone tell me what the name of the two lightest shades in the medium kit are? When I had a make over she used these and said they both looked great for my skin.

I think the other two would be too dark as I am quite pale. So I'm thinking of just ordering a full size version of one of the two lighter shades and then getting a kabuki brush from elsewhere.

The original made my face really itchy, but I seem to be getting on ok with the matte version.

I'm using a lovely Clarins Kabuki brush I got on eBay for about £7. It's so soft, no irritation from it and it comes with it's own red pouch :)

Are you just using the powder janx?

I had an horrendous reaction to it in the first week I started using my BE Starter Kit.
Started with the crevices at the sides of my nose going very dry and sore on day 2 of using it. By day 4 my entire face was red raw, flaking and very sore. (I popped in on the lovely sheep ladies for some advice at the time).
With a combination of aqueous cream as a cleanser, nivea mourturiser and a couple of weeks make up free, my face has healed (and is in a better state than it ever has been - every cloud and all that).

I've since tried patch testing with no result so have gradually started using the makeup again but without the Prime Time and it's been fine and I'm back to loving it.

I do agree though that the brushes feel slightly abrasive but mine do seem to be softening up.

Boots take used stuff back as I was aghast once when someone in the queue in front of me returned an expensive face cream as she said she had had a reaction. I bet the buggers put it back on the shelf and sell it! If you've only used it once I should think you'd be fine. They could always use it as a demo pot.

just did an experiment and put the BE on my skin without using the brushes - felt better when I used with the brushes but still a bit sore around my nose. I think the brushes might the main culprit - anyone recommend another type of non - goaty brush?

Yes those small pots from Lilylolo last for ages.

I didn't know you could apply it with water - I will give that a go as it is a trail and error to avoid making mineral make up look too cakey.

LL do very nice samples for £1.20 for about 2 weeks' worth of foundation so you can try before you commit to a big pot of it.

BE made breakout in spots so I now use Lilylolo. I think it's the bismuth in it.

Feelunique do LL with free p&p btw.

I didn't know ebay had changed their rules.

I'd return it OP.

Could be the brush as the BE ones are real goat hair.

Yes. Both matte and other one.

I have far too sensitive skin for buffing with a brush so I apply mineral make up with a flocked sponge.

Or I tap a small amount out in the palm of my hand and then put a few drops of water into it and apply to face with fingers. This avoids any reaction or sensitivity from applying with brush. It also avoids showing up pores or patchiness. And last longer.

I used to use Lily Lolo but it dried my skin out and irritated. I suffer from rosacea so LL is probably excellent for those who don't.

I now use Inika. I really rate it. You don't need a seperate concealer or finishing powder and it's lovely and soft and not drying. It's the nicest one I have tried so far. Also if you did apply Inika with a brush then there is no buffing required. Just brush on in downward strokes. Buffing, apparently, is only required with mineral makeup with fillers in order to force the makeup into the pores of your skin to stay on.

If you are itching, and don't suffer from any skin conditions then I'd say it's the buffing. Try to apply it by adding water as described above. Super quick too and saves faffing with brushes.

If you've good skin anyway how about just using a tinted moisturiser, which I quite often find actually have quite a bit of colour and then just set that with a finishing powder?

The only reaction I had was horror on seeing myself in it!!

No matter how little I put on it still looks really caked even when it's not giving any coverage at all. I have quite good skin (even if I say so myself) and it makes me look like the texture of orange peel!

Lily Lolo retails in some shops and salons, me being one of them!! Go to
www.lilylolo.co.uk/stockists.asp to find your nearest, I welcome people to come and try before they buy because it's a pretty good product and sooooo reasonably priced compared to bare esscentuals xx

I had an itchy face using bare escentuals. I tried lily lolo and it's much better, although I don't think my skin will ever love being buffed with a brush.

Definitely try returning it!

Just to give you the heads up you can't sell used make up on ebay now a days.

What have you bought? I'd be inclined to take it back.

I went to see my orange lady today and got 3 new eyeshadows and a new buxom lippy!
