Is this cardigan too Mumish?!

Here

I think I like it but I usually hate furry/shaggy type necklines. What do you think? (This is partly because I have a £15 gift voucher I've had for ages and I feel like spending it.)

I also like this playsuit but I'm concerned I wouldn't wear it often.

No - the cardigan is ace! Having said that, like almost everything, it's about how you wear it. My mum would look totally mumish in this (or grandmaish) but I would like to think I would look fab in it ;-)

saoirse86 · 26/10/2011 12:32

I think you're right. I would like to say I'd hate to look like my mum, but she's far more stylish than me! Blush

What would you wear it with then?

I think it would look fab with black skinny jeans, a black top and high heeled boots - or over a casual t-shirt dress, tights and flat boots for a different look.

saoirse86 · 26/10/2011 12:47

Oh good, that's the kind of outfit I was thinking, maybe I'm more stylish than I thought! Grin Hmm

Thanks, I think I'll order it and maybe the playsuit too !

I think you are :-)

josephinebonaparte · 26/10/2011 12:53

I don't like the collar at all

CointreauVersial · 26/10/2011 13:18

A bit too loud for me, and rather acrylic, but, like most things from Limited Collection it's all about the styling. There is a fine line between cutting edge and old lady (think tea dresses). Go for it, see if it's nice in the flesh.

tothemoonandback · 26/10/2011 13:22

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

LesserOfTwoWeevils · 26/10/2011 13:24

Agreed, could be really cool, depends what you wear it with.

Nippysnippy · 26/10/2011 13:34

Minging. Step away.

GhoulishGlendaFestersAgain · 26/10/2011 13:36

Urgh, not nice. I would spend the voucher on some lovely food instead [hgrin]

StaceymAloneForver · 26/10/2011 13:41

dont like playsuits but i love the jumper, with nice jeans a plain top and high heel boots, yummy mummy Grin

LemonDifficult · 26/10/2011 13:44

Sorry, I think it would be difficult to find a less flattering garment.

It's noisy and large. I quite like noisy - sometimes - and large can be cozy, but this just looks a bit awkward. Like Dawn French at a bad gig with a tough audience.

porcamiseria · 26/10/2011 17:15

sorry, HATE IT

PrimaBallerina · 26/10/2011 17:21

I don't like it but I wouldn't like anything that patterned.

It reminds me of something I saw on a young girl yesterday (17ish and not a mum) She wore skinnies and ankle boots and did look nice.

It's the perfect thing to buy with a voucher as it's quite of the moment. Go for it.

cjbk1 · 26/10/2011 18:19

I would like it without the shaggy stuff or with less tbh x

saoirse86 · 27/10/2011 11:07

Oh dear, I had to go to work yesterday so didn't get a chance to order. Now I don't know what to do Confused Maybe I'll go into town and try it first. I'm a bit more keen today as it's got 25% off!

OP posts:
lucymr · 27/10/2011 11:08

If you like it, buy it! It's always great to get opinions on here, but the problem is that people are advising you who don't know your style, and you don't know theirs. My advice is always trust your instinct and wear with pride!

thousandDenier · 27/10/2011 11:11

looks like the model is getting strangled by a muppet.

buy £15 worth of undercrackers and get a decent cardi elsewhere.

They're a bugger to find this season but I've just got a lahvely one from la Redoute.

FrightNight · 27/10/2011 11:14

Hideous. Keep the 15 quid and buy Christmas crackers.

lilbitneurotic · 27/10/2011 13:07

Ha! If your buying crackers mke sure you have ID! ID'd for crackers in M&S - I'm 28!!

switchtvoffdosomelessboring · 27/10/2011 13:15

I'm afraid its another hideous vote here. If it has to be M&S I'd go for this one

spooktrain · 27/10/2011 14:09

bogging, sorry

messybedhead · 27/10/2011 14:21

I'm guessing from your username that you are the same age as me. If this is the case then in answer to your question: yes, the cardigan is too mumsyish(?).

I am a mum but I don't think at this age you need to be wearing clothes for the 50+ age.

If your username refers to a dd who is 25 then I'd say the cardigan is not to my taste at all but if you like it then go for it.

messybedhead · 27/10/2011 14:23

Just noticed the playsuit- that is much better suited to your age bracket.

Definitely buy that rather than the cardigan.
