Cambridge satchel company - Love them/ hate them/love the bags/hate the company

I have been waiting for my satchel, since bloody August. Have emailed and twittered and have had no reply.
What the hell is up with them. I have never had such bad customer service from anyone.
They took the money from my account the day I ordered.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

That is appalling customer service. I would definitely be giving trading standards a call. Did you pay by credit card? Was is over £100? If so, might be worth getting your cc involved too as they are jointly liable I think.

I was actually thinking about ordering one today, now definitely not!

Hope it gets resolved soon, I think you deserve a free one...

Oh i'm going to watch this thread with interest - my sister wants a satchel bag for her 30th next month and she wanted one from here.

Have emailed, twittered, get no response on the phone at all.
I have heard about people waiting two months for bags.
For anyone wanting one, it might be better to buy from Asos.....I should have done that.

I would therefore contact your bank and stop the payment as you suspect there's a fraud as the company are uncontactable - its just not good enough.

We ordered ours in August and just received it yesterday. Customer service is appalling... They didn't respond to emails (although did today when complained) and didn't let us know bag had been dispatched. Apparently they are getting 1000s of emails a day and don't have the staff but that is no excuse if you want to retain customers.

Hope yours turn up soon...

I was going to order a music bag but after reading this thread I had a look at their facebook page and it is swamped with complaints. I don't mind waiting but I don't want to order if they are going to go bust. Am I still protected if I use my credit card but the cost is less than £100?

I wonder if they've just been swamped by orders as suddenly satchels are in fashion and this company have been featured in quite a lot of magazines.?

That's clearly the problem. They've been overwhelmed by orders, now they are overwhelmed by emails chasing up the orders. They are still doing press releases though, which is annoying the people who haven't received their bags. There are people on the facebook page who have been waiting 3-4 months.

Are you local ruby? To Cambridge, I mean.

They really need to take on a team of people to reply to irate customers so there might be a vacancy or two.

Oh dear, I ordered one last Christmas with only a few days to go and it came in time for Christmas - even with all the delays on postage due to weather and everything. I'm surprised but perhaps something is afoot? Could be going bust or overwhelmed with orders perhaps? For all we know it might just be one person making them Confused.

If you want a plain leather satchel and not a coloured one try scaramanga. Ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday.

I've got a Scaramanga satchel and it is fab (and I've got my eye on another) but it was really the music case I wanted. There are other leather music cases but this one has a strap.

I liked scaramanga's style but the bag I ordered smelled a little too farmyard for my liking (I know it's leather and has come from an animal and I appreciate that but still...Wink) and they refused to refund me after I received a bag that had rusty buckles until I threatened to get my cc company involved. Not impressed.

I thought Id add a post as I have bought 2 of Scaramangas leather satchels and been very pleased with them. The first I bought for me and the second for my brother as he wanted a man bag!! There quality seems to have got better over the last year or so too - not that it wasnt good before as my first bag is still going strong.
Good thing is that unlike some other satchel companies that have been talked about, scaramanga deliver your bag within a few days - they dont take orders unless they have the bag in stock. Grin
