Here we go..

Love it how we can go from sequin to rice talk!
DH's rice is always good - all he does is cook it for 10 mins, drain any remaining water, put back in the saucepan with a lid or plate on top and then leave for another 5 to 10 mins (heat off tho) to finish off using the steam it creates. Works everytime.

MarshaBrady · 01/11/2011 11:43

I could quite happily eat rice wearing these gold glittery-ish Louboutin pumps.

wideawakenurse · 01/11/2011 17:13

Hello.

Sorry I have not been around, I have been feeling a bit under the weather for a few days. Seem to be on the mend now.

Love all the sequins, and the scarf too Ollie. That jumper is stunning too red and I like the sound of how you are going to style it. It will look great on you.

All this rice talk is making me peckish! Yum.

Lovely dress Anniemac.

Ollie those are my favourite kind of purchases - all have been on hold for the last year with the standard line of 'when the kitchen's done'. I'm going to go wild in the aisles of JL come January. No pistol squirts here, although one polite girl specifically requested chocolate and, in its absence, proceeded to ask for money Hmm. DH: You're certainly in character, aren't you? (she was a witch).

Outfit decided on NJC? Fingers crossed that it all goes well tomorrow.

NY we love Waking the Dead here - yet to start series 2 though.

H&M pea coat arrived today and is perfect. Really love it - worn with Cos breton sweatshirt, indigo JBrand 912s, leopard print loafers (a la Amber, I thnk? TS) and a loose plait to the side. Felt great.

Have arranged to go to the cinema tomorrow night with a lady I've met locally. We're going to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Thief. Ve much looking forward to it.

redllamayellowllama · 01/11/2011 19:29

That would be ...Solider, Spy Blush.

and Bloss I like the kettle well jumpers although not sure about the styling.

MarshaBrady · 01/11/2011 19:36

I love the See by Chloe crepe dress Anniemac. Really lovely. Quite similar to a M by MJ one I have (must remember, can't repeat items, ach).

Red how nice re cinema. I haven't been for about 4 years Shock. I am so keen for child-free champagne drinking chatting time that I always opt for something else. But I feel ready to strike out and see a movie.

WAN I'm glad you are feeling a bit better Smile.

notyummy · 01/11/2011 19:43

Red - Shock at rude witch! Enjoy the cinema. We only go v occasionally, or with DD. We usually go every Xmas Eve afternoon whilst my mum and dad make mince pies with DD. When we get back I go to childrens church service with my mum and DD whilst DH goes to the pub with my dad. (Neither of them do 'organised religion.') It's a good day!

NIce dress Annie.

blossoming · 01/11/2011 20:06

red, you sound so chic today! Great outfit.

Hope everyone has had a good day. How are you still ollie? I am picturing you still at it!

Louboutin's to die for marsha.

Love the sound of your Christmas Eve notyummy.

No S&B here, just home alone, masses to do. No motivation. Wine winking dangerously in the cupboard.. I need a sergeant major to whip me into shape. And some comfortable elasticated waist slacks. (Have been hitting the comfort food button a bit too much).

redllamayellowllama · 01/11/2011 20:18

Thanks Bloss - was an amalgamation of all things W&A and all things WIT!

WAN glad you are feeling better after feeling rough. I had an amazing pregnancy massage at your stage in both my pregnancies which was completely heavenly and felt well-deserved. Had it done at this spa which is very conveniently located. A festive present to yourself?

AmberNectarine · 01/11/2011 20:34

Love the sound of your outfit red - sounds like something I'd wear!

Not much S&B here, bought some bargain Hunters from Cocosa today but that's about it!

OP posts:
IceCreamCastles · 01/11/2011 20:43

Hi all.
Outfit sounds great red.
Well done on the hunters Amber. Haven't been on cocosa for a while since I got in a strop when a vwa dress I wanted sold out in front of my eyes-grrr.
Don't be hard on yourself bloss- sure you'll be back in the swing of things soon.

Could do with some w&a advice for dd. I ordered her a thick snowboardy type coat from H&M for park trips etc. It has come and is rather large (even though I only got the 18m-2yrs). If I was my mother I would stick with it for her to 'grow into' but should I exchange it for one that would prob only fit her for one season but would look better now?

blossoming · 01/11/2011 20:58

Look better now icey!

Sorry to hear you've been poorly wan. Hope things improve soon.

njc, knock em dead tomorrow! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Back to marking. Kick me off thread etc etc

OllieinOrange · 01/11/2011 21:13

Smile Bloss My mini wardobe clear out ended up taking hours! I tried lots on and then re-arranged everything. I got so frustrated tho - find it so hard to chuck stuff! Compromised and have stashed a big box in the attic! Its obvious that i need to more careful when buying stuff, i have far too many un or barely worn things brought on a whim or on sale. Think I said the same thing last year........ Felt quite annoyed with myself by the end of it all!

Thanks Annie and Amber for the glove info - makes more sense to get the M&S ones as more likely to be wearing with coats. Cosy!

WAN is it this week you have some time off work? Hope so, this pregnancy is sounding tough on you. Massage is a great idea Red. Loved the sound of your outfit today too, keep walking past the H&M coat, may have to try it on now.

DH has agreed to take a day off next week to go shopping for new jumpers, shirts and shoes - for him. This is a BIG event as he always says his has enough clothes. We have compromised and are also going for a test drive for a new car for him Hmm

OllieinOrange · 01/11/2011 21:17

Oh yes, huge amounts of luck tomorrow NJC, you are such a natural with colour advice, you will be fine. Feel free to use us all for references!

IceCreamCastles · 01/11/2011 21:26

Go Njc! You'll be great 

IceCreamCastles · 01/11/2011 21:28

Oh, not sure what that's supposed to say- think I managed to press something on the symbol keypad by mistake Confused

OllieinOrange · 01/11/2011 21:29

Is that a secret code Icey? Wink

MrsCampbellBlack · 01/11/2011 21:29

NJC - good luck tomorrow!

Red - I too am whistles addict - for me the shop has suddenly hit its stride. Tried on the lovely hannah coat but will wait for sale.

FritziGreenEyes · 01/11/2011 21:32

njc Good luck for tomorrow! You'll be great!

Thanks for all the rice advice Smile. Will experiment tomorrow.

red Fab outfit! Mixing W&A with WIT works for me too Wink

icey I'd say go for a smaller size. I once bought DD a snowsuit that was far too big and it annoyed her so much when running around, climbing etc that I ended up buying another smaller one in the end.

ollie Give yourself a pat on the back. Packing up stuff and putting it in the attic is a great achievement!

annie Think the pleats on that dress don't look flattering on that model, even though she is stick-insect thin.

redllamayellowllama · 01/11/2011 21:37

Wine and marking always makes for thoughtful comments on work Bloss!

That's a lovely coat MrsCB - I'm umming and aahing over this dress as I type (this is the one Fritzi).

Take it back Icey - they are cumbersome enough without being too big, I think. Poor DS spent last winter in a Gap down that was too big and struggled. Fits one though Grin.

At least it's all done now Ollie. I'm trying to convince DH to do they very same thng - he hates spending money on clothes ( I suppose it creates a balance in our relationship...)

redllamayellowllama · 01/11/2011 21:38

That should be fits now.

OllieinOrange · 01/11/2011 21:41

Icey. I agree with Fritzi, DS1 had a coat which was too big for him when he was 18months and if he fell over, he was like a dying fly and couldnt get up in it!!!!

IceCreamCastles · 01/11/2011 21:47

Ok, you've convinced me! I know what you mean by a dying fly ollie Grin Will send it back for exchange. It will be typical if she finally has a growth spurt this winter!

Glad you're feeling better WAN. Make sure you take it easy at work- take it you've got risk assessment in place??
