At heathrow off to south Africa for work! Packing went ok but both Dds sick in the night so slightly fraught day ! Am not looking stylish and dh said my fake tan makes me look like I have jaundice!! Will report in. Hope you are all having gooD weekends.

notyummy · 29/10/2011 19:26

Emo- have a great time!

Ollie- sorry the top wasnt great. Agree with Fritzis suggestion for outfit!

Bloss- Glad you enjoyed the biking.

Amazing short break in progress! Bit of early Xmas shopping. Leisurely lunch. Reserved a jacket at Jigsaw to go back and puck up next week with my vouchers. Currently drinking champagne in a slipper bath whilst watching Strictly. Got to decide between blue silk dress and lace skirt for dinner. Hmm.

blossoming · 29/10/2011 19:40

Sounds lovely notyummy. I'm also watching Strictly whilst balancing gingerly on one butt cheek at at time. The pain! Nothing like it since childbirth.

Right, have decided I shall model myself on the incredibly beautiful kristen stewart, 2nd photo down. Pretty sure she's dramatic!

blossoming · 29/10/2011 20:03

2 previous style icons of mine. Not aging well.

AntPants1 · 29/10/2011 22:16

Lovely White company sequin top.....www.thewhitecompany.com/clothing/new-arrivals/sequinfront-merino-sweater/

AmberNectarine · 30/10/2011 07:27

Morning all
not a good couple of days here - wound up in hospital after suffering horrendous abdo pain. Turns out stomach lining very inflamed so am on some heavy duty drugs to sort it and dosed up to the eyeballs on painkillers. Another worry is that routine blood tests found my White blood count to be very low indeed so further tests are required for that to rule out anything serious Confused

Am back home now, but feel as though I have been hit by a truck, and DH back at work tomorrow. Currently being terrible mother and using cbeebies as a nanny Shock

On a lighter note, I saw that sweater in the catalogue ants it is lovely! A sparkly jumper is def on my A/W hitlist!

OP posts:
blossoming · 30/10/2011 07:48

I saw that jumper in store last week. Really lovely.

Sorry to hear you've been poorly amber. Here's hoping that some rest is all you need.

petitdonkey · 30/10/2011 09:07

Amber - that sounds horrendous. Please don't give yourself a hard time about putting DD in front of Cbeebies, on Thursday, DD was ill and we watched Peppa Pig all day (not exaggerating!!) Do you have anyone you can call in to help?

Love the WC jumper. It's funny how many things I like now but just think 'well I can't have it'. Quite liberating really.

After sickness all week I feel like going to a children's birthday party this morning totally overdressed!!! Think I'm going with black Agnes, black pointy Choos (inspired by the Elle photo yesterday wearing her skinnies with pointy courts) black Splendid long sleeved T (great layering pieces) and my bargain silver Joseph oversized chunky knit cardigan - (£12 from Ebay!!) bought it two days before my shopping ban came in!! Am going to pile on make-up too. Does anyone else do this after they've been ill?

Envy inducing sentence of the week comes from NY - "Currently drinking champagne in a slipper bath" !!!!

Ollie - I too have been perusing the Boden Spring Preview! Sad really Blush

blossoming · 30/10/2011 09:58

Go for it petit, outfit sounds fabulous. Could you link the Ellephoto and the Splendid top please?

petitdonkey · 30/10/2011 15:28

I think that this is the t-shirt but I bought mine in the States. I wouldn't wear it alone as it's very sheer but it is really fine and skinny on the arms so it layers beautifully. (It's long too)

Can't remember where I saw the picture of Elle yesterday but I love that I've found a link on 'OMG News'!!! here (Please note, I did not look like Elle McPhearson today)

petitdonkey · 30/10/2011 15:31

Actually, it must be this but in black - my first link didn't have skinny arms. You can see on these photos how sheer it is.

petitdonkey · 30/10/2011 15:33

finally!!

redllamayellowllama · 30/10/2011 19:52

Hope you had a lovely, lovely time NY.

So sorry to hear you've been so unwell Amber. Fingers crossed for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery.

Outfit sounds gorgeous Petit. Am fed up with eBay bargain hunting - I keep on getting outbid by huge sums!

How's your bum today Bloss?

Lovely top Ants - saw it in the window yesterday and admired.

Have had such a lovely weekend - mooching in Bath yesterday, no purchases but did get a chance to have a drink together as both DC had a 2 hour nap. Gorgeous fpriver walk this morning before an afternoon in the playground where DS made a little friend and disappeared for an hour. Marred slightly by the 2 hours wait for breakdown and repair after DH forgot to put diesel in the car...

AmberNectarine · 30/10/2011 20:21

Am Angry as I just logged on to my wardrobe to get a couple of bits in the sale preview and both had sold out in my size! Grrr.

Got some cashmere wristwarmers in M&S when we popped out to do the shop earlier which cheered me up [shallow]

Sounds like a lovely weekend red (glossing over the car bit!)

bloss I was like that after our most recent trip to Centre Parcs, apparently you can get padded pants (never thought I'd be considering padding out that area)

petit outfit sounds very chic, I have a kids Halloween party tomorrow - I fear I will look as if I am appropriately made up without actually being so. Maybe I should just wear black lace and have done with it! Elle looks fierce in those silver trews btw.

notyummy · 30/10/2011 20:30

So sorry to hear you haven't been well Amber- hope you are back to full strength. Bloss - sympathies for the arse ache Grin. I have been there!!

Back from Sat Bains in Nottingham- Michelin starred restaurant with rooms. Absolutely awesome. Little bit rough today after too much food and wine but had an amazing time. DD loved her time with my folks so everyone a winner.

notyummy · 30/10/2011 20:38

Sat Bains.

OllieinOrange · 30/10/2011 20:55

Still not caught up properly but wanted to say Amber sorry to hear you were so ill, sounded grim. Hope the blood tests go ok.

NY your WE away sounded lovely, esp the bath bit!

Also, how did i manage to miss this lovely White Company scarf here? Does anyone have a code? Smile

Regular posting to resume tomorrow!

I knew it was going to be that one ollie! Hope you didn't miss roary's fabulous link. If you did
Glad you had a good time notyummy. Arse is better thank you. Really want to do it again now!
Thanks for the links petit. No Agnes left anywhere. Thought I'd like a black pair.
Well done on the driving njc.
Had a lovely day today. Saw my entire family in one room! Great to see my big bro and his lovely new(ish) baby.

Back to lesson prep tonight. I shall be glad to get back to routine!

IceCreamCastles · 30/10/2011 22:26

That scarf is made for you ollie.
Njc- both the bare minerals and the driving sound v worthwhile- well done you!
Really hope you feel better soon Amber.

Lovely day here today- Dd has been in her element splashing in puddles-I'm struggling to get used to the vast quantities of mud that living in a more rural setting has brought to our lives! Any tips bloss?

FritziGreenEyes · 31/10/2011 08:07

Morning all!

amber Hope you'll feel better soon!

icey Welcome back! We have missed you.

Halloween is a big thing at DD's school and it was very cute to see all the little pumpkins, witches and ghosts on the school playground this wearing. I made DD proud by wearing her glittery H&M owl mask when dropping her off Smile

pickledsiblings · 31/10/2011 09:14

Amber, hope you are feeling more comfortable. Pity about the MW stuff but I'm sure you'll seek out some more lovely items, you always do.

Busy w/e here, had friends around for 4 days. We all had a lovely time and the weather was unseasonally warm and dry for us.

icey, for DD the best thing is to get some waterproof all in ones and long wellies - that minimises the amount of mud on clothes anyway. Sounds like you are making the most of country living. How's the kitchen coming on?

NY, hope you are well rested after your lovely break. I thought your link was to padded pants for Bloss after Amber's recommendation Grin.

Ollie, agree with icey that the WC scarf is made for you. Have you found anything to wear with your gorgeous silver skirt? You know, the one with the pockets.

Bloss, laughed at your aging style icons and laughed even harder at your newest one...talk about from one extreme to the other. Kirsten Stewart seems about 15 to me although she is beautiful.

petitdonkey · 31/10/2011 09:32

Arrraghhh!! DD sick again last night - I'm so selfish, all I could think about was the fact that she can't go to nursery today or tomorrow morning and I had lots planned. Another day of Peppa Pig beckons....

notyummy · 31/10/2011 09:40

Oh dear, seems to be lots of sickness going around. Lets hope for a clear run soon.
Hi Icecream - good to hear from you.

Fritzi - lovely to hear about all the cute costumes for Halloween. I am feeling a bit guilty tbh. DD announced yesterday (out of nowhere) that she wants to go trick or treating. Schools were off last week and today, so I am unaware of whether any of her friends are going out. Which means she will have to go out by herself (with one of us, obviously...) It seems a bit sad, but the only other alternative is for her not to go at all and she is sooooo keen. I thought we could just go to 4/5 houses (i.e the immediate neighbours who we know) and because she has never been before that will probably do. If she had mentioned it earlier I could probably have made arrangements, and now I feel like she will be this little thing on her own (although she doesn't seem too bothered by that. ) Sometimes it is really tricky trying to sort these sort of things out when I work and hence don't see other parents at the school gate very often - and I only moved here a couple of years ago so don't have any long term networks. Hmm.

FritziGreenEyes · 31/10/2011 10:37

Love this skirt!
