Cant find any boots<sobs>

I am struggling to find the ideal boot for winter. I want them to go with tea dresses, chunky knits, jumper dresses and leggings-you get the idea.
My criteria are-has to be black leather, either flat or low heel(love high heel boots but not practical with the shit winter forecasted). HATE online shopping-refuse to shell out good cash without trying on. So has to be high street.
Am prepared to pay up to £100 but ideally would like to spend £60 to £80. Had found a few pairs I liked then tethers told me they were mums bootsSad
Help please.

Flip rolling...they're lovely! V tempted...

RollingInTheAisles · 08/10/2011 22:51

They're nice in real life too. I was wondering about quality before buying but they're fine and you can wear them rolled up too. They have them in brown also.

fedupofnamechanging · 08/10/2011 22:52

My orinoco's are d fit too. My calf width is 38 cm (I think) and shoe size is 5. I think they will stretch a bit though and then they'll be perfect.

dingdong3 · 08/10/2011 22:56

Have just drunkenly measured my calves at the point where the boots would go to and they're 36.5cm. I do have much larger calves lower down - maybe it's the point at which the boot's end that's my problem. Prob why the elastic ones are such a good fit. Getting more and more tempted rolling....

pink, have you found boots yet? I've had these come today and I love them!

RollingInTheAisles · 08/10/2011 23:02

Oh I like those Bupcakes, looks like 25% off too!

Are they hard to get on and off, like as in pulled arm muscles and finger burn? :)

RollingInTheAisles · 08/10/2011 23:04

Oh no they're not Instructions, I checked, but you should be quick...

They're lovely, Rolling. Nice leather too, I think they will age well. Am very pleased with them. :)

Not sure if you're asking me about difficulty of getting on and off but... they're fine!

RollingInTheAisles · 08/10/2011 23:08

Oh no, that's weird, they come up for me. I think there's a couple of sellers with them though if you search for topshop boots.

stripeybump · 08/10/2011 23:14

Rolling they are fab! Are they real leather then?

RollingInTheAisles · 08/10/2011 23:16

Yes I think so, am quite fussy about that, but will check for sure in morning (in bed now and too cold to get out)! Am 99% certain though.

RollingInTheAisles · 08/10/2011 23:17

Thanks Bupcakes, am tempted!

DeeScent · 08/10/2011 23:24

rolling, great boots.

can I ask you how far into the boot the quilting/sock goes? Is it just decorative at the top, or does it extend down to keep your feet warm?

pink4ever · 09/10/2011 09:11

bupcakes-yes I got the orinoco jazz ones in black. Dont love them but they are purely for practical purposes only! Also got 2 pairs of more glamourous knee high boots from new look so am not completely mumsyGrin

I like your boots-I have a similisr pair in tan that I got from faith sale 3 years ago and still going strong.

Stripy, they are leather :)

Dee, if I roll the boot out to full length the wooly bit goes more than half way down, below that it's a thick felty neopreney sort of lining so they are warm. Looking at the label it says 'warm lining 100% cotton' so think they're supposed to be warm but haven't tested that yet!
