ordered three dresses online, have tried them on and I know which I like... But wanted reassurance from DH. He has said my least fave looks the nicest and this is the one he prefers.

I am 5ft size 10 but have slight bingo wings. DH prefers the sleeveless dress . Nowt I can do about bingo wings now seen as the dress is for Sat night. Going out with two other couples to a really nice restaurant, well it is a pub with a restaurant attached, it is renowned for it's seafood up north.

Which dress do you like?

DH likes

my second fave

my first choice

All are at knee level. First two slim fitting, third floaty, bit not too floaty that it could make you look pregnant.

Rank in order of liking please Grin

YOur DH has very good taste, go with that one.

LiveYourBestLife · 15/09/2011 21:02

Hope DH will be wearing complimentary look. Have u checked? Just saying!

Bellavita · 15/09/2011 21:03

Remus, I have a lovely wrap/pashmina that I could use.

Live... He will be wearing a smart pair of trousers which have just cost a bloody tenner to get cleaned Shock and a rather lovely Paul Smith shirt Grin

Your DH is correct.

Now that should go into Classics.

Have a good time!

JustAnother · 15/09/2011 21:26

your DH is right. I don't like the other two.

TracyK · 15/09/2011 21:29

Keep your shrug or pahmina on till you've had at least 2 glasses of wine - then you'll be fine.
Go to a scanky shopping centre during the day and watch all the young fat girls wearing next to nothing - you won't feel half as bad.

Bellavita · 15/09/2011 21:34

Thank you TracyK Smile.

I am actually having a facial and then my haircut in the morning, so no time for skanky shopping centres! Am not good with wine, goes to my head quickly. Will either have to go for G&T's or champagne.

Saturday morning.

LauraMercier · 15/09/2011 21:35

DHs choice - see, men don't notice things like bingo wings. Have a lovely night!

TracyK · 15/09/2011 21:45

Get manicure too and maybe a nice chunky cuff and a bit of fake tan. Do tomorrow night so now streaks by Sat. night.
Make sure your facial doesn't bring out any spots!

Jlolookalike · 15/09/2011 21:46

Sorry, but I have to agree with your oh, love his choice. Sexier than the other two.

Bellavita · 15/09/2011 21:50

Gawd, don't mention spots. Hair and facial had already been booked before the night out.

I still have my tan from our holiday. Been exfoliating and moisturing since the day we got back to keep my skin nice. I always moisturise anway, but been putting extra on.

Nails are ok, nice length. I always wear polish. I bought a new one in duty free - Orange Fizz by Chanel, so shall do nails tomorrow night.

Chunky cuff an idea... Where I go for my hair/beauty they have a little boutique on the ground floor, will look out for a cuff.

hmm - I don't know that I would have a facial on the day! Unless it is just a massagey one and not any steamy/deep cleansing one - or a caci type.

Just keep your arms by your sides - don't be flapping them around - and honestly - no-one will notice them.

That dress will make the impact. Do you suit orangey's - you could try and get a pash to match in with your nails?

TracyK · 15/09/2011 21:54

Have you got a bit of shapewear underwear - even if you don't really need them - they give you good posture.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/09/2011 21:55

Yep - a couple of G&Ts will soon warm you up!

Are you sorted for stockings and shoes? :)

northernruth · 15/09/2011 21:58

I like your favourite. But then I think the other two are a bit dull. All depends on your figure tho

dinkystinky · 15/09/2011 21:58

I agree with your DH on the dress - is definitely the best. Wear a shrug if worried about bingo wings but bet you look so fabulous in that dress you don't need one

Bellavita · 15/09/2011 22:00

Am going bare legged, still tanned. Sling back shoes sorted.

No shape wear underwear, although I could pop and get some after work tomorrow... Yes, will do that.

Been a long time since I have had a facial. It will be an Elemis one but as to which one I am not sure, they were going to decide on the day. Do you think it would b better to cancel and rearrange?

OP posts:
TracyK · 15/09/2011 22:01

or a blingey cocktail ring! Or hair up with F off big earrings.

LauraMercier · 15/09/2011 22:03

Yours DHs choice - see, men (and probably noone but ourselves) notice bingo wings! Have a lovely night

TracyK · 15/09/2011 22:04

I prob would cancel it. Although I have an excellent Elemis Papaya exfoliator which is like a cream mask and it plumps and hydrates your skin for 24 hours - its what I would do to myself on the Sat afternoon. Maybe give them a call tomorrow and voice your concerns.

startail · 15/09/2011 22:06

Defiantly your DHs choice, it's lovely the others are very safe and a bit dull.

Bellavita · 15/09/2011 22:09

Right, will ring them tomorrow when i get to work and try and rearrange it. Hair not really long enough now to wear it up, have shortish bob with wide chunky fringe.

polyhymnia · 15/09/2011 23:13

Your DH's and the second are nice, not your favourite though. Agree don't have facial on day of anyoccasion you want to look your best.
Think hair would probably look nicer down anyway- updo might be a bit OTT if it's just a dinner with friends, not a big formal occasion. At least, I think it would down south where I live.
