I'm a size 14, big boobs, great waist and ok arse, massive thighs! I am so bored of wearing jeans. I bought myself some brown chino trousers today but I suspect they are supposed to be slim fitting but fit me like slightly loose leggings. Is that ok? What do other women with fat legs wear?

The trousers were These

P.s. Style is not my forté so pleas be gentle with me.

OP I bought these trousers in the terracotta colour a couple of weeks ago, i'm not very tall and i don't have what you'd call slim legs but i really do like these trousers. They're a really nice fit and very comfortable to wear, and now i've seen they're on offer i'll be buying the black ones too. I don't care if my legs look like stumpy carrots in them

I bought these too, am sending them in post to my skinny sister and am sticking to my pepe jeans boot cut.

Another vote for Gap curvy and Next boyfriend jeans. And leggings with tunic tops from White Stuff

I thinks Lands End are pretty good for trousers. I have fat thighs, and their trousers normally fit me.

It does depend on the cut, though, I have 4 different styles in a UK 16 (US 14), and one pair I need a belt, another pair I certainly don't, and the last pair of that size weren't big enough, and I've had to size up (sigh...).

For basics, I think they're good.I've also discovered their no-iron shirts in pretty floral prints.
Def worth a look!

I would never get in Zara trousers with my thunder thighs.

I live in New Look 9.99 hula bootleg jeans. Branched out last week and went up a size to get the skinny version, ok with boots but I wouldn't wear them with anything else. I figure at 9.99 I can afford that every few months until I lose the damn weight I keep piling on.

Late to the discussion, as i just saw the "mumsnet swears by" email, and maybe no one will agree with me, but I sometimes get a good fit for trousers at BHS (does anyone else even shop at BHS these days???).

I'm similar proportions to WorzselMummage - if you look at their smart trousers, they can look good dressed down for casual, and I find they fit me well.....

  • something like these (though these ones are polyester - last year I had some nice black cotton or poly cotton ones - I've not been shopping yet this year...)

I have short thick parsnip legs! Same trouble.
I usually resort to leggings and a longish top to cover my bum and upper thighs. M&S trousers never ever fit me.

This sounds like me! I swear by UNIQLO ezy ankle length trousers, especially the ones with a bit of stretch. I find that wearing 7/8 length or similar that doesn’t taper all the way to the ankle also helps

My first comment 😬It’s great to read you all have the same problem as me with buying jeans & trousers for challenging legs lol.Im only 5.2.I haven’t worn jeans for twenty years because they emphasise my thighs & bottom.Tappered trousers are a no,no.The only thing I know is that side zips on trousers are slimming but you don’t see side zips very often so yeah looking for some tips that help 🙂
