I got a radley bag for £3, but I know many on the style thread wouldn't rate that!

I just like the fact that I can buy 5 tops for £20 and that's my new summer wardrobe-people ask where they're from and I can say French Connection or where ever with a straight face now!

knitknack · 30/08/2011 17:36

jellybeans208 · 30/08/2011 18:03

I bought a Burberry Skirt for Dd2 last week for £2, sadly it didn't fit her so i stuck it on e-bay and it sold for £22. I have also found a few bits of Boden for the dd's.

GiraffesHaveMoreFun · 30/08/2011 18:07

7 jeans for a tenner.

nokissymum · 30/08/2011 18:09

I go to my local charity shop to buy story books for ds, £1 for 5! All in pristine condition.

I also got a fantastic cable cardigan from there last winter, it was £10 but brand new.

garlicnutter · 30/08/2011 18:21

Just did my six-monthly clothes shop (£140) at Sue Ryder and the cut-off-labels sale shop. Am most delighted, especially with my cut-off-label Karen Millen stuff and the £4 second-hand trousers, which are Dorothy Perkins but exactly what I wanted. If I'd been this much of a cheapskate before I needed to become one, I wouldn't need to be such a cheapskate now! ... if you see what I mean Confused

Never thought of re-baying charity shop finds, though, thanks!!

warmandwooly · 30/08/2011 19:10

Wow! The charity shops I usually go in are full of Primark bits and pieces. It's been on the odd occassion that I have found my good items. I

Oh BooBoo you beat me! I managed to find a pair of Citizens for Humanity jeans this weekend for £9.50 - still love them though.

I also look for miniboden and john Lewis clothes, Cashmere jumpers and tweed jackets (which I cut up to make stuff!)

We have a good selection of shops where I live (and clearly some rich people).

MissKittyEliza · 30/08/2011 19:49

Kew and Boden knitwear.

I love the idea of recycling and as long as there's no overpowering smell, I'll buy pretty much anything.

ChablisLover · 30/08/2011 19:52

Love it

Have bought a Hobbs dress today for £3.95. A superdry jumper for £4.

Becoming quite a regular in the shops.

EttiKetti · 30/08/2011 19:54

Hobbs brown velvet blazer with tags £5.
Mustard silk Monsoon top £2.50
Monsoon black cropped cardigan £2

kitya · 30/08/2011 19:55

Where on earth do you all live?

garlicnutter · 30/08/2011 20:04

I was wondering that, kitya! Can I get a bus there?

pink4ever · 30/08/2011 20:07

I presume all the posters above dont live in my town then? The clothes in ours are all primark/matalan or next if you are very lucky and are over priced. I have got some nice stuff for dcs though-designer at debenhams pieces, zara or john lewis.

NatureAbhorsAHoover · 30/08/2011 20:14

I've bought some lovely things at the posh charity shops around Marylebone High St but the best is the small country town ones where you get things for 50p and half a dozen trashy novels for a pound Grin

My best charity shop one-stop haul was a Peter Storm coat for dd, Mini boden top for ds, funky astronaut children's storage case, Bagpuss pyjama case and sequiny shoulder bag for dd's stocking. All for less than £5.
