here

I personally think she's right, KMid wears way too much liner and makes her look old.

(I know there is far more serious news issues to discuss, but this is s&b after all)

KM does need to go easy on the hard eyeliner.

But I would hardly take make up advice from VW! She's bonkers as conkers. I wouldn't wear her clothes either.

pjani · 09/08/2011 18:07

And she's just being rude.

DarrellRivers · 09/08/2011 18:07

I do love a serious issue such as this
I agree with VW, but that is some of the appeal of KM, to look how she wants to look and not how someone else wants her to look

myrosynose · 09/08/2011 18:07

VW is as mad as a mongoose

and has a face like a welder's bench

so I wouldn't be fretting if I were KM

MooMinCow · 09/08/2011 18:22

haha face like welders bench.

agreed VW is hardly authority on makeup/beauty Grin, but something about KM's eyeliner makes me twitch and want to tackle her with a cotton bud!

I agree with Dame V, too much liner, makes her look hard-faced and a bit common.

gettingolderbytheday · 09/08/2011 18:30

Yes, the eye-liner is too heavy for such a pretty face, she doesn't need it to be so black and hard. VW is slightly bonkers though.....

susiedaisy · 09/08/2011 18:30

Yeah the eyeliner is dated far too bold

DarrellRivers · 09/08/2011 18:32

should we call her DoC now rather than KM

ZZZenAgain · 09/08/2011 18:35

she's good looking, she can wear anything IMO. Let her have her own style fgs. Do we want her to resemble V.W.?

ZZZenAgain · 09/08/2011 18:42

sorry that sounds a bit snottier than I meant it. I agree it isn't what I would choose for her but we all have to choose our own look and whatever she does with liner, she still looks good IMO

IAmTheCookieMonster · 09/08/2011 18:52

I've always thought that her eyeliner was too harsh, especially at her wedding - not very bridal. But I would much rather look like KM than VW!!

Moulesfrites · 09/08/2011 19:04

I know nothing about make up - can anyone link to an example of a "softer" look that would suit KM?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/08/2011 19:04

It's quite old news tbh - VW said it straight after the wedding iirc. And I agree with her - KM is beautiful but her eye makeup is crap.

My dd1 insists on wearing the hard black eye make up stuff too and it really annoys me - she's beautiful but the eye makeup just makes her look a bit grubby. I have no objection to lots of black eyeliner when done as the full on goth look but on somebody normally dressed, it looks silly imho.

fishie · 09/08/2011 19:11

agree with makeup artist in piece, eyeliner on bottom lids is ageing. melanie rickey has pronounced so on twitter.

ZZZenAgain · 09/08/2011 19:12

softer for example would be saygrey not black and more smudged, less obvious a marked line. Would still emphasise the eyes

Popbiscuit · 09/08/2011 19:12

Totally agree with VW and I do think it looks a bit "common". I'm no expert but aren't you supposed to focus on the top lash-line? Bobbi Brown always does beautiful eyes (very defined liquid liner on the top only)
However, I do like that she is stubborn in her refusal to let anyone tell her what to do and that she recycles outfits.

MooMinCow · 09/08/2011 19:23

moulesfrites - just imagine more blended in/smudgier in grey or brown, or even just eyeshadow blended near lash line.

I think she would look fab in a stronger lipstick and slightly retro flicked liquid liner. she has the dark hair to carry it off methinks.

I like that she recycles outfits, but sometimes a change of makeup style can also make an outfit look totally different.

i wouldn't take make up advice from VW

GhoulLasher · 09/08/2011 20:00

Yes she is! It's a style of eye makeup I often see on Posh girls actually...kind of too much and too black but also very 90s looking. Eary 90s at that.

LynetteScavo · 09/08/2011 20:01

I think KM is trying to look older.....she'll be doing the opposite once she has a baby.

GhoulLasher · 09/08/2011 20:01

Ppfft Lynette Why? Because she's OLD ffs?

greycircles · 09/08/2011 20:06

I think Kate looks nice. Kate's appearance and behaviour has been virtually perfect, throughout her time in the public eye.

VW - OMFG. Her and her clothes are truly frightening. I don't really understand why she would comment on Kate's eye makeup in the first place - Kate is not one of her models.
