That aside, Jo Malone's rose perfume is just gorgeous. I have a friend who wears this and I comment on it every single time.

I am currently wearing the Orla Kiely perfume. I am not one, but the perfume is probably aimed at yummy mummies. I like it anyway

Yes I suppose I do, or at least I try to be. Perfume and a dab of lipgloss is about as far as it gets however, so, thanks for your advice.

I think you should try Estee Lauder Tuberose and Gardenia. Not sure it's "yummy mummy" but it does smell feminine and groomed.

I like a Molton Brown one, in orange packaging, celestial something. Not too overpowering but pretty.

Seriously though sounds like you like a nice floral scent - have you tried any of the chantecaille ones - I love frangipane. Or chanel no 19 is lovely too.

OP, I use Stella (as in McCartney, not the lager ), Allure and Jo Malone Pear and Fresia.

I really didnt mean to irritate anyone, I just have (for once) some money to spend on myself yippee and wanted some help. Thanks Olivetti, I love the EP & Fresia.

Although...hijacking thread, have you found EP and Fresia is a slightly weaker fragrance than some of the other JM ones? I love the smell so much, and got the shower gel, cream and perfume for Christmas, but it seems to wear off really quickly.

Yes def lighter, but great as my every day. Tried the 'intense' rosewater & vanilla one the other day and found it far too much. Guess I should have thought more about the 'intense' bit before being doused in it x

Other things:

The Hermes "Jardin ..." range; the Guerlain "Aqua Allegoria" range; and a wild-card - Miller Harris "L'Air de Rien" - which is orange blossom with a sexiness that subtly imposes itself in a very un-obvious fashion.

The above are day-time scents (imo) and quite subtle. Though the Miller Harris is definitely something that could be worn for the purposes of seduction. The wonderful thing about it is that it is subtly seductive, and is definitely PTA-appropriate - if subtly subversive, hinting at appealing hinterlands

Those are available in large department stores like John Lewis and House of Fraser.

Then there is "Iris Nobile" which is sold in Space NK. This one is fab. It is definitely entering into "glamourous and accomplished" territory. Definitely grown-up. Women love this scent.

(By the way, I think MrsCampbellBlack's comment was intended in a spirit of camraderie and "arm across shoulder".)

Just a cheeky hijack ...pear & freesia is my ultimate favourite, but I find the scent wears off really quickly. Am shopping TODAY for new perfume. Any suggestions for the longest wearing scent that is fruity, fresh & floral ?

Northumberlandlass: Check out the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria. My favourite is the Herba Fresca, my daughter loves the Mandarin, and the new one (which is apparently "on trend") is the Jasmine.

But I still think that Estee Lauder's Tuberose and Gardenia is utterly beautiful. Lasts for ages, has great sillage (ie. surrounds you in a scented halo) but it isn't fruity.
