Outfit for 5yo girl to wear to school disco

5yo DD is in primary 2 ( year 1) at local primary school. Her outfit of choice will be scruffy jeans, T shirt and trainers ie what she wears to play in the garden. Even i know she needs to be more dressed up than that. OTOH I dont want her to look like an 18yo going clubbing with "come and get it you know you want it" on her T shirt

Any suggestions? Price range = matalan/ asda/primark please!

DD1 had her first school disco last week and there was a real mix of outfits1

DD1 wore her party skirt which has a net underskirt, so sticks out, then a top and tights and shes. Some of her friends were in proper party dresses, some in trousers and tops.
The older girls looked very "grown up" and had on the tiniest skirts and boots.

Asda had some very nice skirts in, dark blue or black with some embroidery on the front.

dd1 wore jeans to her disco but with a glittery t-shirt from monsoon

She could still wear jeans what about with something like the 'black foil top' bottom left Here?

KristinaM · 18/11/2005 09:20

so she could wear jeans but i need to buy a fancy top of some sort? And what does she wear on her feet? Are summer sandles OK or do i need to buy boots???? i assume boots are compulsory with mini skirts so shoudl probably avoid these......

horrible glittery 'dress up' shoes always go down well

KristinaM · 18/11/2005 09:33

i was going to say most juniors are definitely wannabe hookers at school discos - dont forget to buy her a bra for when she's 8!

Some infants also are wannabees too
