sure as hell beats skinny jeans, cargos, drop crotchers, harems and capri pants the likes of which I have yet to see look good on anyone.
If they are a linen mix they keep their shape too. I love them in white with a Breton top. They are flattering and not try hard.
Say it loud and proud ladies ;)...

I dont know why everyone on here hates them.
I have a black pair and a white pair and wear nothing else during the hot weather, or on hols

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 16/05/2011 20:38

I love my linen too, they're flattering on moi me thinks Blush

DoingTheBestICan · 16/05/2011 20:39

I'll say it loud & proud,I Love My Linen Trousers Grin

Like mosschops i have a white pair & a black pair & they are so comfy & cool.

Lipstickgal · 16/05/2011 20:40

I don't seem to suffer from this arse saggage business either and my arse is sizeably rounded.

But where do you buy them? I don't seem to be able to find any this year that have a waistband and drawstring waists look terrible on me.

mosschops30 · 16/05/2011 20:56

Ooh i dont do drawstrings.
I bought mine from m&s last year, they were super cheap and have lasted well.
My fave pair are from topshop

Lipstickgal · 16/05/2011 20:59

Thelma look out for flat fronted elasticated at the back ones that pull on. Linen mix is the way forward. The elastic at the back helps them keep their shape and the flat front dispenses with any bulk.

Oh yes and no draw string =no camel's hoof business!

< Wails> But I have been looking and I can't find any. Give me links people, I need links!

ceebeegeebies · 16/05/2011 21:08

I love mine - didn't realise they were a MN faux pas Wink

Next ones are good - they have a good range of colours and do them in different lengths Smile

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 16/05/2011 21:08

You tried Next Thelma?

ceebeegeebies · 16/05/2011 21:11

here you go Smile

boysinpointyhats · 16/05/2011 21:12

I LOVE my linen trousers, I wear then all summer long. Thanks for starting this thread, I was getting worried I was weird reading the other one. I bought my most recent pair from TopShop, because I is young Grin

bronze · 16/05/2011 21:20

I can'y buy trousers easily because of my shape so I made some dark brown linen ones. I plan to make some more with improvements such as a wide shirred waistband

Lipstickgal · 16/05/2011 21:30

Bronze I too have a tricky shape for trousers.I am apple shaped but with a rounded bum. I am slim of hip but wide of waist since having my children. I have found the Evans ones that are elasticated at the back and flat fronted a godsend. I am normally 14-16 and found these in a 14 perfect for me. They streamline and don't sag. Yay! They make summer dressing so much easier....

Thelmapeace · 16/05/2011 21:33

I tried these but they really gaped at the back. I think those tie waist ones would probably do the same. I am a definite pear shape.

rockinout · 16/05/2011 21:34

Was at a party where several people were wearing them this weekend. Looked great. A few model/sleb types and fashion writers so I think MN is not the definitive on them at all!

Lipstickgal · 16/05/2011 21:42

Well said RIO. What I like about them is their versatility. They look good with wedges, converse type pumps, ballet flats and birkies....what is not to like?

cece · 16/05/2011 21:48

I have many pairs in many colours. 'Tis all I wear during the summer.

ceebeegeebies · 16/05/2011 21:49

Yes, I think you have hit the nail on the head - they are extremely versatile and can look smart or casual.

I heart linen trousers Grin

rockinout · 16/05/2011 21:53

One girl was wearing a wide high waisted white pair with lovely plaited leather wedges very high! And a grey sheer vest and long beads. Very very stylish.

cece · 16/05/2011 21:53

Those ones from Next look a bit low cut at the waist. Are they on the waist or below?

ceebeegeebies · 16/05/2011 21:55

I am 5ft 8 and buy the long ones and they do sit on the waist - definitely not hipsters.

cece · 16/05/2011 21:59

I might venture into Next then. I never usually bother as can't usually find anything that fits properly in there... Very odd apple shape... Sad

rockinout · 16/05/2011 22:00

Cargos skinnies harems etc are all fashion and probably won't see the light of day next year. Linen trousers are more about style. I wear skinnies etc a lot at the moment but 2 years ago I was wearing jeggings etc but am not wearing them now as it was a fashion thing. But my linen flares are timeless as are my ankle length slim black trousers
