I've only ever had one outfit, seemed the norm for the weddings I've attended.

'just' one! has never crossed my mind to have more than that, especially as at most weddings these days the bride stays in her dress all day and night.

I only have one outfit, but I take my hat and jacket off at appropriate time and then wear my dress to the party.

I have sometimes worn two, because to wear one, you need a very specific outfit that goes from day to night. If I haven't wanted to buy that, i've worn a simple daytime dress then just more going out stuff in the evening.

now see at a scottish wedding that just wouldnt be an option.....

Yesterday (went to wedding) the reception was in a garden, tiny portaloo (so nowhere to change) & we went straight from the church so no time. Who can afford 2 outfits per wedding anyway?!

I have not been to any wedding where you go away between the daytime part and the evening part. You might move form one venue to the next but you are still in the wedding without any break.

My sister was at two different weddings recently where several of the younger female guests changed from cocktail style dresses and heels to maxi dresses and gladiators or flip flops after the meal.

I've only once bought a dress specifically for a wedding through, so I may be out of touch.

None of the brides have gone off and changed outfit either - they've been present the whole time - as you would want to be if you wee paying for a giant party.

Am Scottish and don't change (one dress is expensive enough!) but was also wondering why we don't have time to change? Is it because it's a waste of valuable drinking time? If so, I'm with you on that.

last couple of weddings ive been to have been at hotels, so theres been a bit between the day and then were you would have time to change and a few people have, although not many

Just one outfit - the trick is to find something respectable/warm enough for church, but still party-ish enough for reception.

One dress. Always been a bit suspicious of 'changers'. Like they have too many outfits or something. Or prefer changing clothes to drinking.

Maybe taking a pair of flat shoes is a good plan?

I have had two outfits for each wedding in the last 5 years or so I've been to. I don't often have the opportunity to wear fancy dresses so I make the most of the occasion and wear two! A couple of years ago, my mother and I got changed between cars (one was hers) parked at the side of a very quiet and dark road. Our family was highly amused about this.

Well I have only ever had one, but I went to my SILs wedding a few weeks ago and after dinner everyone went to their room for an hour or so before the evening reception (with hundreds of people invited). When people came back they were ALL in different outfits, I literally couldn't believe it and felt like I'd not be informed of some very important information!

Been to a few recently and and have noticed a number of women appearing in different slinkier outfits for the evening. Have noticed the bride seems to no longer have a going away outfit too. Guess the dress is such a massive deal now and I do love seeing a slightly disheveled bride after a good night of dancing!

As a bride I took flat espadrilles for everything post-photos but I didn't want to change the dress.

One wedding I was at, the brides parents went back to their hotel between the breakfast and the evening part, and returned in jeans!
