It's for a wedding ((((sigh))))

Hotel type affair, city centre.

Am 29, size 14, 5"2

Would like something

With straps or sleeves. Feel too naked for wedding in strapless

Not too short, couple of inches above knee max, although would consider maxi

Hides mum-tum, but makes most of good cleavage, I tend to suit structured, fitted stuff rather that floaty that is in just now that makes me look sack like

Happy to wear high high heels.

Have spent the past 3 weeks trailing shops, wnd am loosing the will to live. Every seems to be aimed at under 20's or over 40's, although given that it's dh's best mates wedding and they are both 45, I would prefer something older than younger IYKWIM.

Bought VW anglomania in pink but sent it back as looked rubbish.

Any advice would be greatly appreciates.

Any help would be

I thought you got a maxi dress for a wedding in Troon? Wouldn't that do?

geordieminx · 07/05/2011 15:24

Absolutely love the jaeger one, but worried M would be too small...might try and source in store or on bay. love the Reiss one too in pink though.

Oh no, that's a shame about the VW. I tried one on in urban outfitters and it didn't do anything for me either.

trixymalixy · 07/05/2011 19:22

Think I'm going to get this in the terracotta for my cousin's wedding as I can't quite afford the Roland mouret I would really like!!

ASOS has quite a lot of structured pencil dresses.

geordieminx · 07/05/2011 19:23

It clanged to every lump and bump, and tbh Trix, I don't know about you but I thought it felt/looked a bit cheap, the material of the pink one was t-shirty? If it had been in New Look for £30 it wouldn't have been so bad. I have janice from phase eight which I thought was better quality. Sad

I've just bought this. Bit dull perhaps, but I'm going to liven it up with red shoes and bag.

WowOoo · 07/05/2011 19:28

Sorry, just saw that you are 29. Think above dress is def too boring for 29 yr old.

FellatioNelson · 07/05/2011 19:32

teths I'm going to order that black and white Jaeger dress - it's bloody lovely.

geordieminx · 07/05/2011 19:33

Grrr@fellatio..... I want it too but it's going to be too smal (((((wails)))))

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 07/05/2011 19:35

I totally agree the material was so thin. I tried on another VW dress that was much more fitted with buttons down the front and the material reminded me if a scarf I got free with a magazine once Shock and it cost about £250!!

How was the skiing holiday btw?

FellatioNelson · 07/05/2011 19:36

Geordie if you sound about the same sixe and height as me and I find Jaeger stuff comes up quite big. I think the medium will be fine.

trixymalixy · 07/05/2011 19:50

vb copy?

The jeager one is lovely.

KristinaM · 07/05/2011 19:52

I agree, jaeger sizes are huge. I would be worried m would be too big for you

But you will need serious heels with that dress as you are a shortarse petite

Bargains here if you are quick

Sorry to not grasp the point of your OPBlush

FellatioNelson · 07/05/2011 19:56

Oh that link is fab thank you - now tell me, people: is this the most beautiful thing you ever saw, or a vile abomination? I can't quite decide. Confused

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/05/2011 19:59

I bought this for a wedding today. It looks a bit casual on the pic but is lovely on. |Very structured at the top and no waist clinginess and nice length Smile

FellatioNelson · 07/05/2011 20:00

No, this one is even nicer/more horrid

FellatioNelson · 07/05/2011 20:01

Sorry Crispy, I didn't mean 'no' to your dress (which is very pretty BTW) just crossed posts!

KristinaM · 07/05/2011 20:05

Fellatio, I think it depend on your colouring. Are you an autumn?

CrispyTheCrisp · 07/05/2011 20:05

LOL, no offence Grin

tethersend · 07/05/2011 20:07

Fellatio, that brown one is gorgeous. Get it. At once.

Jaeger sizes are farking huge, geordie- get the M. They will refund in store if it doesn't fit.

geordieminx · 07/05/2011 20:11
