I have worn Eternity Calvin Klein for as long as I can remember - quite fancy a change for something light for summer, love the old fashioned eau de toilette type citrusy smells, any ideas?

My mum wears Ralph Lauren Safari which is lovely but can be hard to find.

ginmakesitallok · 27/04/2011 19:58

Hugo Boss orange or Voyage de Hermes (which is my new favourite)

wildfig · 27/04/2011 19:59

Jo Malone Wildfig & Cassis
Annick Goutal Petite Cherie
SpaceNK Laughter

Agent Provocateur for evenings

still have a sneaking love for White Musk, though. And Creed Royal Water.

If you can get a sample (there are sample service websites or try les scenteurs) try Patou's Vacances. That's a lovely lilac soliflore. I can't think of any other lilac soliflores, maybe Sonoma Scent Studios do one though.

Or if you like lilac, you may enjoy iris, in which case Un Lys by Lutens, Malle's En Passant -- in fact try a sample of that as although it's not a lilac soliflore it has a lot of lilac in it.

I love Mitsoukou, but it hates me. Turns into synthetic peach on my skin. Hardly any perfumes go yuck on me, but that one does. Am sad. I've bought it three times and sold it on three times.

Another one I wear at the moment is Dominique Ropion's Une Fleur de Cassie

sharbie · 27/04/2011 20:06

i quite like barbie edt

chocolateteabag · 27/04/2011 20:08

I normally wear Coco but when it's really hot or I'm on hols I wear Quercus cologne by Penhaligons
I got it originally because it was in a Jilly Cooper novel (yes I'm that sad) but it's a really fresh and clean scent
(I get it from Macarthur Glen outlet near York)

farkthatforagameofsoldiers · 27/04/2011 20:08

Paul Smith Summer Rose for daytime

Mugler Angel Rose for evening

Missred · 27/04/2011 20:09

TS - this seems to be the case with a lot of people. Many of my friends have tried mine, doesn't smell the same on them at all. DD can't wear it either (v sim to me in terms of colouring, body type etc) but wears Idylle instead; absolutely lush on her, reeks on me.

anniepanniepears · 27/04/2011 20:11

Azuree by Estee Lauder very strong and not for everyone, but I love it

TruthSweet · 27/04/2011 20:14

animula/otch - Thanks for the tips I will see if I can find the one that reminds me of Kew Garden's Lilac Garden in May (my favourite place on Earth).

snaildoodle · 27/04/2011 20:16

I wear Tom Ford Black Orchid for evenings out, Guerlain L'Heure Bleue for work, and the rose one from the Body Shop if I'm just spending the day around the house.

otchayaniye · 27/04/2011 20:17

animula I wish you hadn't posted that link :) I have a sickness with perfumes (and Christ, the ones I love are all $$$$$) and I feel a whole new soliflore area HAS to be mined....

smugmumofboys · 27/04/2011 20:19

Paul Smith Rose summer edition is lovely
Liz Earle perfume is quite citrussy

perfectmummy · 27/04/2011 20:33

polyhymnia and bluebell pls give me some ideas. I also hate regular "boots" type perfume but struggle to sample many others. I'm not really into strong florals and quite like "manly" or "different" fragrances.

Carrotsandcelery · 27/04/2011 20:41

I wear Kenzo - Flower in the summer - very fresh scent.

I have never heard of Jo Malone but will look out for it now Smile

MayorNaze · 27/04/2011 20:50

karma by lush

i love it

even supposedly fruity scents smell too "perfumey" to me :(

FoxtrotMikiLima · 27/04/2011 21:02

Ghost - two but can't remember their names - one is 'Night' I think in a half moon shaped purple bottle, and the other is tall and light blue.

Stella Mcartney - quite a few, again can't remember names but they all smell like variations of rose. Love the one where you rub on the solid perfume and can use the spray with or without it.

Chanel's Chance

My all time old school favourite since I went to the factory in France where they made it is Obsession.

applecrumbleandcream · 27/04/2011 21:32

Currently alternating between 3 - Euphoria by CK, Chloe and Gucci Guilty. Tempted to buy Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau so Fresh for the summer!

Anyone still buy Lou Lou (favourite when I was at school) - loved the unusual blue bottle and also loved Anais Anais ?

Chanel no5 or 19

aLegonEachCorner · 28/04/2011 09:29

Oh yes, forgot all about the Clarins Eau Dynamisante......LOVE the matching body lotion as well, which always used to get "what are you wearing?" comments.

diddl · 28/04/2011 10:01

Chanel 19, Calvin Klein Beauty.

polyhymnia · 28/04/2011 10:07

perfectmummy - I'd try Annick Goutal - two of my favourites are by them: (Eau d'Hadrien - beautifully fresh - and Eau du Sud - like a Mediterranean garden). Also like several of the Miller Harris perfume. And some of the Diptyque ones, which are quite un usual (those are available at Space NK, as are Sisley perfumes - I like their No. 1). Afraid I find Jo Malone boring and over-rated on me. As has been said, everyone's different.

I would also wear Dior's fresh citrussy Escale a Portofino (but not their other women's fragrances) and their Eau Sauvage - a male fragrance which women wear too.

The one thing you can get in some Boots, which is my every day splash, is Eau Dynamisante, as mentioned above.

perfectmummy · 28/04/2011 21:39

thanks so much for the ideas polyhymnia. I do already also wear Eau Dynamistant.e and have a couple of Miller harris samples which I also like (although I don't think would buy a full bottle of either).

MadameCastafiore · 28/04/2011 21:40

Jo Malone Pomegranote Noir
Dolce Vita Christian Dior
