Thinking of having my hair cut v short - any ideas?

Quite fancy a pixie-ish cut but with some length at the front, if that makes sense? I have a tiny face and also wear glasses. Am a size 10-12 hourglass - will I look like a pea on top of a football?

Post a photo so we can see!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 17:22

There is a tiny one on my profile - I'm the one at the back with dark hair and a little head!

I can't see any pics of you! There are 2 of people am assuming are your dd's?

Anyway, have recently gone short and this and this were the pics I took with me, Michelle Williams often has nice pixie kind of cuts. Are there any people whose style you like?

varyingdegreesofdeafness · 16/04/2011 22:02

I'm a big heffer and i have very short hair! Just go to a hairdresser you trust and explain you want a new nice short cut and they should explain how it would best suit you... But pixie cuts do look v nice! I'm sure you'll look smashing, go for it!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 22:05

I took the picture away because I decided you'd all looked and decided I was too hideous to help me! :)

Love both of those pics but all that hair on top would just sit on top of my glasses and swamp me.

Varying - thank you for the vote of confidence. :)

lots of ideas

my new cut

It's very choppy at the back but I am glad I did it.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 22:12

Love it - it really suits you. You are about a zillion years younger than me.

I had my hair cut short a couple of years ago; I also have a very small face and wear (children's!) glasses most days, lenses the others.

Go for it, its only hair after all it will always grow back!

Okay..think I've managed to put a pic on profile - please don't run away in terror!

OP posts:
Sidge · 16/04/2011 22:47

Hmm, you have a strong jawline and lovely skin so show it off!

If you go short you will need to lose the centre parting, maybe go for a heavy sideswept fringe and choppy at the back.

Go on, be adventurous!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 22:49

It falls naturally into the centre - tis a pain.

OP posts:
Sidge · 16/04/2011 22:52

Mine does too, just slightly off centre, but if you get a really good cut they can cut it so it falls another way.

Gertiegoolash · 16/04/2011 22:52

I agree with sidge, although if it falls naturally into a centre parting then maybe go for the shorter pixie?

Bohica · 16/04/2011 22:58

I've seen your pic, your gorg & so are your daughters. Definatly cut it short & choppy at the back with a heavy side fringe that will only need a cold blow with the hairdryer to set in place & a quick straighten.

This advice is coming from a women who has only had short hair for 3 days & has spent the last 9+ years with her long hair tied up in a pony ontop of her head so feel free to ignore.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 23:01

Thank you so much. My daughters are indeed gorgeous but I am about as far from it as possible.

V scared of heavy side fringe - think it would swamp me. My head looks fairly normal sized in that picture but is actually freakishly small!

OP posts:
Bohica · 16/04/2011 23:14

Instead of a heavy fringe maybe go for a short choppy fringe where your hair is the same cut all over & you can the spike or smooth depending on your mood.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2011 23:16

:)

Sorry to be dim but I now have absolutely no idea of the kind of thing you mean.

Have had a google and just got depressed at how beautiful Kiera Knightley is!
