How much does you hair cut cost?

DooinMeCleanin · 16/04/2011 11:11

Mine is £60 for cut, blowdry, bleach slices and a temporary colour over the bleach (Fudge colour Box) and a conditioning treatment.

DH is in a paddy. He cancelled our card so I couldn't get the money to get it done. He hasd now 'allowed' me to have £40 Angry.

This is how much a haircut should cost in his opinion.

£15. she comes to my house and is fabulous. i wash it myself then she cuts it and blow dries it. she used to work in a fancy salon, and she's taken her clients with her, obviously! she did me a cut and blow dry, my sister in law a cut and blow dry, then my niece a colour, cut and blowdry. all for £65.

Ambi · 17/04/2011 19:21

£19 cut & blow every 3 months (home colour in between)
£36 colour, cut and blow every six months

Can't wait to go to a fancy hairdresser when I have the money.

itssnotfunny · 17/04/2011 19:25

i was paying £28 for a cut and blow, £11 for dd and £6 for ds and have just located a mobile hairdresser who lives at the bottom of my road - its now £15 for a cut and blow and shes better than the hairdressers i was going too, she does dd and ds as well all 3 for £20 saving me £25 in total - ta daaa

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 17/04/2011 19:35

just had mine done for free, hurrah for my multi-talented dh!

LawrieMarlow · 17/04/2011 19:46

Mine is £15 I think (less than £20 anyway) for wash, cut and rough dry. I colour it every 4-6 weeks at about £4 a go. Hair gets cut every 6 weeks or so. Is growing now so eventually will be able to get it cut less often.

So the most in a year is £180 for cut and £52 for colour or £19 a month. Still feels a bit much though.

LaPresidente · 22/01/2012 14:09

I'm amazed by how little every one seems to pay, and how infrequently they are able to go - I have short hair, which looks crazed after about three weeks, although I last out until four, sometimes even five if I can face the puzzled glances. My haircut costs £60, and roots retouch costs £60 - I think that's pretty normal for city centre. Am thinking of changing to somewhere out of town, but am embarrassed to tell my hairdresser I can't afford him any more.

valiumredhead · 22/01/2012 14:39

£36 for a cut and blow dry every 9 weeks and about £70 for a cut with half head of tint every 3 months or so.

dublindee · 22/01/2012 14:58

£22.50 for wash, cut, treatment and blow-dry every 6-8 weeks.

Increase that to £48 when I get colour with so caramel highlights done as well. Normally get this every second trip to salon.

Works out at about £220 a year on my hair.

Two boys are £4 each every 6-8 weeks and hubby is £8 every 6-8 weeks.

emsyj · 22/01/2012 15:28

I used to pay £150 ish for a full head of highlights and cut & blow. Then a friend recommended her hairdresser who works mobile and he does it for £50 which is sooooo cheap. I love how he cuts it, but hate how he blowdries it, but for a £100 saving it suits me. I have it very very very blonde so I get it done every 6 weeks and alternate full head/half head.

Zondra · 22/01/2012 16:02

For a cut, colour & treatment I pay £190.
It IS expensive but, I'm in the process of going blonde from black so, I have to be very selective about which salon I go to & unfortunately the best ones around here ( Westend of Glasgow ) that is what they charge.

Your DH is being totally unreasonable by the way!

southeastastra · 22/01/2012 16:04

this is an old thread Grin

Tenebrist · 22/01/2012 16:20

"this is an old thread"

It was LaPresidente wot resurrected it

When people talk about a half head of highlights I can't stop imaging the discussion with the hairdresser about which half you'd like done this time, left or right...

Littlepumpkinpie · 22/01/2012 16:48

I used to pay £75 for cut and two colour full head of foils every 2 months. Now I pay same Hairdresser £12 for a dry cut every couple of months and colour it myself as I just hated sitting there all that time having it done.

Emz834 · 01/10/2019 22:27

Sorry, old thread I know, but had to comment. I cannot imagine being with someone who cancels the card so you can't have your hair done! That is selfish, rude, disrespectful and cruel. My husband says to spend whatever I like on my hair as hair is very important, like a new suit. He would never tell me what I can or cannot spend. A relationship is about giving and making each other happy. Some people's relationships boggle my mind!!
