I am bog lazy and will avoid wearing make up just so that I don't have to take it off at night. However am leaving a trail of broken mirrors and screaming toddlers so probably should wear more make up. I manage mascara on a good day... what about you?

mascara and eye liner when just out and about with ds. Foundation and powder, mascara and eye liner when at work

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2005 19:39

Ha ha. Um, yes.

I last wore makeup at my wedding. And that was over DH's protests.

Until I was 18 or so, I used to wear makeup every day. But I realised that meant, when I looked in the mirror and saw my natural face, I would think "yuck". So I stopped wearing makeup.

spookyserenity · 30/10/2005 19:43

I only wear makeup if I'm going to work or going out somewhere. Toddler group might merit mascara and lip gloss or like, but a lot of the time I'm bare faced.

I just asked DH what he thought and he says I look fine without makeup and different (not necessarily better) with it he's a good boy!

LadyTophamHatt · 30/10/2005 19:46

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

If I do it's just mascara and eyeliner.

expatinscotland · 30/10/2005 19:49

No way! Never. Tinted moisturiser, waterproof mascara and tinted lip balm at a minimum.

I even put on makeup before going to hospital to have DD and after she was born cleansed my face w/an Oil of Olay wipe and re-applied before receiving visitors.

I even put on makeup to go into major surgery - albeit just foundation, concealer and powder. Oh, and cuticle oil.

the day I got married was the first time I'd worn any makeup at all in over 5 years, maybe more. I am a free woman.

was a bit of a shock to find it had all coagulated though.

TinyGang · 30/10/2005 19:52

Not always, but that's due to being pushed for time - I feel and look much better with!

I am very fair skinned and my eyelashes are pale, so I have them tinted. That helps no end if there's no time for mascara. There's no definition to my eyes otherwise and they look like p*holes in the snow!

I never wear make-up - never really got the hang of applying it and tend to look like a man in drag if I try!

expatinscotland · 30/10/2005 19:55

I make time to put on makeup. DD has inherited all my old brushes and puffs. She does her 'makeup' whilst I do mine. I pretend to put blush, lippy, etc. on her.

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 30/10/2005 19:55

I do for work and hardly ever do when I'm not working. Me without make up is not a good look though, I really ought to make an effort.

SeaShells · 30/10/2005 19:58

School run, going to the shops, out for walks etc, don't tend to bother with makeup.

bakedpotatooooowoooh · 30/10/2005 20:00

I wear mascara and anti-shine powder maybe three times a year, and have never ever worn anything serious like foundation. It scares me -- those ladies with orange lines on their jawbones put me off when I was a teenager.
Recently have begun to feel a little too old for a bare face. But don't know where to start. Those ladies on the MAC counter terrify me also.

Miaou · 30/10/2005 20:23

I haven't worn make up since I moved to Scotland nearly 5 years ago. I used to wear it when I worked in an office, and I daresay I would again if I felt I had to, to look professional, but I don't like it. My complexion is awful though, I bet all those make-up ladies would love to get their hands on me

NotQuiteCockney · 30/10/2005 20:34

Those makeup ladies scare me, too.

I'm sure if they're exposed to natural light, they shrivel up and die, though.

albosmum · 30/10/2005 20:55

I wear make up when I go to inteviews and thats it - so i always venture out without it!

bubble99 · 30/10/2005 20:57

I usually can't even find a hairbrush.

expatinscotland · 30/10/2005 20:57

I dream of a Sephora opening up in Scotland. Ooo. That place rules. It really, really does.

expatinscotland · 30/10/2005 20:58

DD is two and already has a Denham comb for after bath and a pink Mason Pearson hairbrush. And she knows how to use 'em. .

motherinferior · 30/10/2005 21:16

I have resumed a bit of makeup since turning 42. Age can do that to you.

Ericblack · 30/10/2005 21:18

Last time I wore make up was in Eastern Europe where I was offered a free session. Though I say so myself I did look pretty good but later I came up in massive welts. I also feel like a transvestite when I wear make-up and have only recently felt able to wear a skirt without accusations about my gender.

jodee · 30/10/2005 21:18

Does foundation count? I could easily go out without lippy, eyeliner, etc. but have to cover up yukky blemishes (spots are worse now I'm in my late thirties!)

PiccadillyCircus · 30/10/2005 21:23

I never wear makeup - really have no idea when I last did .
