FitFlops - what are they like, in desperate need of comfy spring shoes?

Hi just wondering if anyone can help with any experience of Fitflops,

I have feet "issues", converse rub my feet most trainers rub me and i end up with cuts scars and a lot of pain.
I need good foot support to walk in, i have a slim high arched foot, so i keep twisting my ankles if I?m not wearing snug footwear.
I need to be tied in also so no slip on shoes.
I came across these fitflop sneakers and was wondering if anyone?s tried them, they look converse-ish
It?s a big step for me I don?t usually wear trainers! I'm more of a boots person but as a transition shoe and to save my from damage I?m considering these,
And do they really "tone" you???

I saw some quite nice ones in Next yesterday (sorry if that's common). I have "ishoos" with my feet as well and end up getting cheap leather ones and using shoe stretch. I like the thought of fitflops, but I don't believe in the hype.
