I've been looking at this dress for a couple of days now and am seriously tempted! It looks ideal for work (primary school teacher) and yet ok to wear out for casual stuff. Opinions welcomed.

(Sorry, cant do 'links'!)

Yes, you really can do links - they're not hard, but it's hard to comment without one.

OrangeBernard · 28/03/2011 19:45

Very mumsy.

MillsAndDoom · 28/03/2011 20:32

I'm too lazy to google myself so may pop back on and have a look when I can just click on a link

mistressploppy · 28/03/2011 20:41

Is this it?

mistressploppy · 28/03/2011 20:42

If so - it's pretty inoffensive. You'd have to accessorise really well to avoid looking frumpy though, IMO

tassisssss · 28/03/2011 20:44

I like it but not loving the small print fabric, would go for bigger print or plain.

ceebeegeebies · 28/03/2011 20:46

I really like the blue leopard-print one - it is a lovely shape. I would love it if I could afford to spend that much on a dress!!

daimbardiva · 28/03/2011 21:06

My mum has just ordered this. She's 68 (not sure if that helps ;) ) She ordered it in plum, I have to admit I do like the look of it in the leopard prints though

Dilligaf81 · 28/03/2011 21:14

I like it but H&M ahve some great dresses at the mo and you could buy loads for the same price.

Sorry none of these might be any good but thought Id give it a go.

I have the blue leopard print and am pleased with it. Good colour - quite similar to a denim blue. Agree it needs accessories but should be quite versatile - ie, could go for very simple holiday look with flat, possibly metallic, sandals and interesting necklace (this is really what I bought it for) or dress it up a bit more.

Thanks everyone. Just checked back in - interesting replies!

Really pretty. It's not mumsy!

kittya · 29/03/2011 10:55

I think it's great for your job but, why on earth didn't you buy it last week when it has 20 percent off?

Bradsmum · 29/03/2011 11:00

I have that dress and absolutely love it! Not mumsy when it's on at all. I got it when it had 20% off though. Boden currently doing buy 2 items get third for £1..

kittya · 29/03/2011 11:02

Surely that's three items get a fourth for a pound?? I will hit the roof if it's not!

Bradsmum · 29/03/2011 11:05

Better go get the ladder and hit that roof then! It's a Mother's Day thing - definitely buy 2 and get one for £1. I can't find 2 things I want - bought them when it was 20% off!!

kittya · 29/03/2011 11:18

That's really pissed me off. I struggled to buy three things last week. I'm going to ring them and insist they refund me properly for one

wahwahwah · 29/03/2011 11:23

Oooh. Special offer. I try to like Boden, I really do, but the quality isn't worth the price. I did get a fab shirt there once for £14 which I love (full price about £40 I think). Must go and have a look at this new deal though - sounds good, DH likes their shirts too.

No - mustn't. Have just given 2 bingags of old clothes to charity shop as my bedroom looked like a jumble sale because I had too many clothes to fit the cupboards. Maybe just a little look.

wahwahwah · 29/03/2011 11:26

What are their sizes like - do they come up small? In Kew or M&S I am an 8 or 10.

ceebeegeebies · 29/03/2011 12:28

Wahwahwah I am like you - can't justify spending the money on full-price Boden but I did get a fantastic anorak/raincoat-type thing for about £20 due to a 15% discount and a £10 off voucher - it is lovely and can't wait to be able to wear it (although obviously not really as that would mean it would be raining Wink)

Bradsmum · 29/03/2011 12:31

Full price Boden ridiculous unless something really special. With offers not too bad. I think their sizing comes up large -I usually go down a size which is always a positive thing!

Wahwahwah - you know you want to...

doggiesayswoof · 29/03/2011 12:32

I have it in the heather print and I'm afraid I do think it's a bit mumsy - because of the stretchy fabric and the cut. Careful accessorising needed. The colours are lovely imo though and it's flattering and comfy.

Also, I wanted to wear it to work but it shows too much cleavage for the office really, so i'll need to wear a camisole underneath.

(I got it a few weeks ago with 15% off plus the £10 voucher I was sent - I wouldn't have paid full price)

noddyholder · 29/03/2011 12:33

Ok for teh 68 yr old mum otherwise hideous
