Boden Everyday Jersey Dress

I've been looking at this dress for a couple of days now and am seriously tempted! It looks ideal for work (primary school teacher) and yet ok to wear out for casual stuff. Opinions welcomed.

(Sorry, cant do 'links'!)

Right. All done. Ordered 2 of the dresses and the navy jersey jacket. Very pleased!!!

Agree camisole needed but that's not a great problem.

wahwahwah · 29/03/2011 12:33

I do want the union flag skirt that they had last year. I will wear it to school internation day with pride!

doggiesayswoof · 29/03/2011 12:34

Oh yes and the sizing is generous - I got a 12 (and I am at the big end of 12) but I would prob be ok in a 10 in this style because of the stretch.

polyhymnia · 29/03/2011 12:41

wahwahwah - they are doing a union jack scarf for the royal wedding I see!! Not sure if it would make a mini-skirt??

noddyholder - I'm not yet 68 but not sure why 'hideous' dress is OK for a 68 year old mum . If hideous, it's hideous at any age surely? Don't think people should lower their expectations as they get older.

doglover - let us know how you like it.

noddyholder · 29/03/2011 12:43

I don't agree some things are hideous on teh wrong age. A mini skirt for example on an old lady as opposed to a younger woman in better shape.Or something mumsy on someone young might be ok on someone older. My mum wears dresses like that and looks good in them but I would look awful

polyhymnia · 29/03/2011 12:46

OK, see your point - perhaps over-sensitive about coments which suggest over-50s should abandon all pretensions to style.

polyhymnia · 29/03/2011 12:46

Or even comments.

noddyholder · 29/03/2011 12:48

I am nearly 46 so def not an age thing more a style thing I hope Smile

mumonahottinroof · 29/03/2011 13:04

I ordered this in the blue print and sent it back. It was quite pretty and quite flattering but I felt I had enough of those kind of dresses. Perfect school teacher dress I would say!

CointreauVersial · 29/03/2011 13:17

I was tempted by this dress, but you've put me off with your talk about needing camisoles underneath. That drives me mad.

And £69?? I'll wait for the Sale.

MrsSeanBean · 29/03/2011 13:24

I considered this in black as an alternative to this or this.
(Jigsaw version now in mid season sale, but fabric is thinner.)

I was planning to wear it layered over a tee - so this may work? ('MUMM' buy 2 get one for a £1 code still seems to be working for me on Boden site...)

doggiesayswoof · 29/03/2011 13:27

Yes, would be good layered imo.

GColdtimer · 29/03/2011 13:32

I have just bought this fat face dress

It isn't as mumsy as it looks and it is 25 quid cheaper.....

polyhymnia · 29/03/2011 16:13

Agree the Boden one in black would look good layered - thinking of getting a black one too. code says it expires at 11.59 tonight. Hmm, perhaps I should get a black one too ...

MikeRotch · 29/03/2011 16:27

how can you not DO a link you saddo

AlfalfaMum · 29/03/2011 16:45

It's okay, but the price is insane for jersey, and it will probably look crap after a couple of washes. It is well reviewed though so if you want it, try it and send it back if you're not happy.

Quite like twofalls' fat face dress.

I love that a bunch of mums come on here and agonise over how 'mumsy' something looks :o

CointreauVersial · 29/03/2011 16:49

Twofalls, I was checking out that very dress at the weekend! Tempted, but couldn't quite justify.

doglover · 01/04/2011 17:23

Dresses arrived yesterday. I'm absolutely delighted with them. Love the fabric, style and fit. Just thought some of you might like to know!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 01/04/2011 20:41

Very happy for you! Do you have to wear a camisole underneath?

MissMontoya · 01/04/2011 20:48

I must be turning into a right granny (I'm 34!), but I really like all of them Grin

cabbageroses · 01/04/2011 20:51

I thought it looked like a maternity dress- too much material in tummy area.

Meggles76 · 01/04/2011 21:28

I placed an order for some of their 'summer' items
Tunic in grey
Top in graphite
Top in taupe
cardigan in ivory
cute skirt for dd

I got 20% off and wonder when they might turn up?

kittya · 01/04/2011 22:59

I have this dress in the green and Im not a granny. Out of six things, it was the only one I kept. I love it!

doglover · 02/04/2011 13:33

No, no camisole required, CV!!
