Straighteners - which ones do you use/recommend?

Currently have some Babyliss Straighteners which are ceramic coated (I think!!) - cost about 24 quid about a year ago.

My hair is very thick and about shoulder length and quite wavy (when it's not been straightened!!). My straighteners do the job, but after a while my hair tends to revert back to it's natural wavy state.

Is it worth forking out for much better straighteners, like those ghd ones? Has anyone bought these from e-bay? Are they any good?

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

TIA

GHDs.

Get them from Toni and Guy. Unless you live in Liverpool. They don't sell GHDs at Toni and Guy in Liverpool.

I ahev GHD's too but they don't keep all types of hair lovely and straight all day.

Not sure why but mine never keeps the just straightened look for long.
A right pain in the arse it is too because my hair is now as dry and brittle as dry brittle thing because I have to use them. it resembl;es candy floss if I don't.
Think I might get it all cut off again soon.

Thanks for replies everyone - I'm going to get GHD's - will have to start saving now (or perhaps ask for money for Xmas instead of pressies so will have to wait until then!!!)

OK, LadyTophamHat's problem is the same as mine when I use straighteners - it makes my fright hair even worse and dries it out really badly.

I'm thinking won't the ghd's create the same problem?

This oil stuff I was talking about seems to be something you spray on your hair - is that to protect it from the heat?
