Possibly the best mascara ever

I just had to share this mascara. I have a bit of a mascara addiction and am always sucked in by the ads even though they clearly say they're enhanced photos.

I've been using this for a week and I love it. It's great for everyday but builds up easily and gently for a thicker more dramatic look. It feels unlike any mascara I've ever used (Dior, YSL, Clinque, Clarins, Maybelline, Rimmel, Sephora, BB etc.)

It'd want to be for that price Shock

I was eyeing up a ByTerry lipstick in there the other day until I found out the price.

Polaris · 16/03/2011 14:17

FM - that's expensive. I've liked Lancome for a while, but that's a lot too.

stylenotfashion · 16/03/2011 14:18

£30? Shock

Does it come with a free handbag perchance?

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 16/03/2011 14:19

Bugger me, that's expensive for mascaraShock.

stylenotfashion · 16/03/2011 14:19

N.B.

That shock in no way implies I do not now covet & desire said item.

monkeysmama · 16/03/2011 15:32

It is expensive but never again will I waste money on ones that don't work.

Nah, I tried thousands I'm sure and didn't find one that didn't smudge until I discovered Blinc.
I'll never use anything else again.
And it wasn't as dear as that either!

Deuce · 16/03/2011 15:41

I'd wait to see if it dries out in the tube before commenting Wink

monkeysmama · 16/03/2011 15:52

I've never had a mascara dry out in the tube so would be strange. I found the Blinc one I bought nigh on impossible to remove.

Interesting. Had a By Terry makeover at Space NK last Sat and the makeup artist used that. The result was certainly spectacular. Would buy it, but I personally don't like such a dramatic look as she gave me - think it can be aging at my age, so prefer something more natural - like Clinique Naturally Glossy or Laura Mercier.

But I'm such a By T fan/addict I'm going to go back and try out one coat of the By Terrybly and, if I like that, will probably buy. The makeup girl said it was one of these new mascaras that promotes the growth of your eyelashes (apparently Terry herself has used it for this purpose!). Great if true, though I'm sceptical and wouldn't buy it just for that.

withagoat · 16/03/2011 15:56

we dont like "By terry" on mn

stylenotfashion · 16/03/2011 16:06

Are all mn-ers sheep, withagoat? Or can we have our own opinions?

withagoat · 16/03/2011 16:10

no

gavel

its the name

it gives flashbacks of hattie jacques

wendihouse22 · 16/03/2011 16:37

I want it.

I can't have it.....as simply cannot justify that price.

Enjoy!!

grumpygrumps · 16/03/2011 18:10

I'm on the hunt for an above average, decent mascara that gives dramatic results so I will be going to Space NK to pick one up. No doubt I will after feel a bit disgusted with myself for paying such a high sum but hey ho, what girl wants...

PlumSykes · 16/03/2011 19:24

Sounds great. My very very fave in terms of effect is the YSL Faux Cils, but I do find it goes thick and gloopy in the tube within four weeks, so tend to stick with the Lancome ones. Will give this one a try. I love the By Terry stuff.

polyhymnia · 16/03/2011 19:28

Yes, go for it. Amused that By Terry makes you think of Hattie Jacques, withagoat. Have met her (Terry de Gunzburg) and she is admittedly dark haired, but also a whip-thin, stylish Frenchwoman.

hellsbelles · 16/03/2011 19:31

Monkey - I just got that when I had a makeover at space NK....I'm waiting to finish my old one before I open it...but my goodness...it was amazing when she used it on my eyes.

mrsbumbledosem · 16/03/2011 20:12

please can you post before and after pics??

why does it feel different? I have to say I hate mascara as it always makes my eyes feel funny - except the blinc syle ones like clinique curling mascara which are rubbery and not too 'chemically'.

I don't know how I feel about by terry. It is very seductive, great packaging but horribly expensive.

zalana · 16/03/2011 20:29

By Terry liquid eyeliner is also amazing, is like a fine felt pen and goes on really easily, no smudges and great lasting power, havent tried their mascara but sounds great!

monkeysmama · 16/03/2011 20:33

It feels like putting air on my lashes. Even after I put four coats on the other evening they felt light but looked made up. I'm not usually this impressed by products but I love this and the By Terry foundation & concealor too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/03/2011 20:33

I love the byterry stuff.

Something to add to my list after disaster purchse of rouge coco shine lipstick which is totally the wrong colour.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/03/2011 20:45

I had some ByTerry brightening cream, courtesy of the beauty closet at swank fashion mag HQ in New York where a friend works. It costs $175 I found out later. I thought it was rubbish - made no visible difference to my skin at all.

And I always thought Terry was a bloke.

PuraVida · 16/03/2011 20:57

Terry? Who the fuck is Terry?

stylenotfashion · 17/03/2011 08:19

YSL Touche Eclat was invented by Terry - a woman. Now launched her own range.
