How many of us have had an allergic reaction to Touche Eclat?

From another thread it seems really quite common.
Definitely worth emailing the company if it happens to you as I'm sure not this many people should react to it.

I have! Started using it and a few days later I'd developed hideous eczema under my eyes - a week before my wedding!!

Had to have hectic steriod creams so I ddin't look like a creature from beyond the grave on the big day!

raspberryshake · 05/03/2011 21:36

Me too! With the crazy zombie eczema under my eyes.... Strangely coincided with my first pregnancy, and I put it down to hormones, but I still can't use it!

namechangesgalore · 05/03/2011 21:41

No way Noway - that must have been horribly stressful just before your wedding and not knowing if it'd clear.

Me as well nasty excema

WhatsWrongWithYou · 05/03/2011 21:45

I get sore eyes from it, but I tend to stop using anything dodgy straight away, so it rarely gets to the eczematic stage.
Haven't used it for years, though, so not much point emailing them.

Mind you, I got sore eyes from Clinique 'comfort on call' the other week.

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 05/03/2011 21:51

Me too, would put steroid cream under my eyes to help them settle down.Shock
Stopped using it 7 years ago, and no further episodes of eczema.

caughtinanet · 05/03/2011 22:02

Yes, years ago when it first came out I had some and it was OK for a while then one undereye started reacting to it. I gave it to a friend and just put it down to bad luck that I wouldn't be able to use it.

Too late to complain now but I certainly won't risk it again, its too expensive.

lovemyangels · 06/03/2011 08:24

My Mum gave me hers as she did and then I did so threw it in the bin.

Gogopops · 06/03/2011 08:30

It made my under eye area very itchy although I didn't come out in a rash. I have never had an allergy to anything so dread to think what's in this stuff.

Generally, I think we're all far too easily swayed by what the beauty industry tells us. After all, this is a 'must have' and 'beauty winner'!! Crap.

stressheaderic · 06/03/2011 08:35

Another one who reacted here. White spots under my eyes and very sore. Gave it to a friend and same happened to her. Neither of ur allergic to any other beauty product. Boots no 7 one is fine for us though, so is avon one.

GeorginaWorsley · 06/03/2011 13:04

Me too.
Got all dry flaky bits under my eyes.

MoreSenseThanMoney · 06/03/2011 19:24

Me too - I've never been allergic to any other beauty product. Gave me pink, scaly, hideous patches under my eyes.

clux73 · 06/03/2011 19:25

Me too. Pink sore eyes. Put it in the bin. Boots No7 version has always been ok for me though.

moragbellingham · 06/03/2011 20:09

Me too. flaky, dry, sore skin.

MsPrufrock · 06/03/2011 21:30

I thought it was just me! Pink nasty patches of eczema. Exacerbated, of course, because the pinker it got, the more touche eclat I put on to cover it up....
Never had eczema before or since.

CointreauVersial · 06/03/2011 22:03

Be aware that prducts like Touche Eclat can very easily become contaminated with bacteria, especially if you've had them a while, and it's often this that causes the reaction.

Similarly, watch out for dirty make-up brushes/old eye shadows/mascaras - if you suddenly start getting irritation have a clear-out of your make-up bag and wash your brushes!

MarionCole · 06/03/2011 22:04

Yep, very dry red skin

nikki1978 · 06/03/2011 22:13

Me! And I have NEVER been allergic to ANYTHING in my whole 32 years except for this. Gave me a horrible eczema type scab under one of my eyes.

HuckingFell · 06/03/2011 22:15

me too.

cybilliberty · 06/03/2011 22:16

NO thank god cos I would DIE without it

namechangesgalore · 06/03/2011 22:22

Gosh this is quite a lot of us...

I know this is an old thread, but still worth commenting - I've used Touche Eclat on Friday and over the past four days I've had irritated red and pink patches under my eyes, looks ridiculous. Never had allergic reactions to other cosmetics. What's up with this one?!

RedRaw · 18/04/2014 23:27

Me too. Dry red bits, and I'm generally not skin sensitive. I have since used the Clinique version for the past few years and no problems!
