How many of us have had an allergic reaction to Touche Eclat?

From another thread it seems really quite common.
Definitely worth emailing the company if it happens to you as I'm sure not this many people should react to it.

I also reacted, but it was because I hadn't washed the brush in soapy water for about two weeks. Apparently, the bacteria grows really quickly in the brush.

The aldi one is better. £3.99. just sayin

Onsera3 · 19/04/2014 06:15

Yes! Fine bits of skin peeling, flaking off under eyes within days.

Took it back to dept store and was told they hadn't had this prob etc

I think it's a real Emperor's new clothes anyway. A simple highlighter that doesn't offer much coverage. I guess the application/packaging were innovative when it first came out.

I never tried this but funnily enough I had the same reaction from the Boots own brand equivalent. Also had to have hydrocortisone!

WhoKnowsWhereTheChocolateGoes · 19/04/2014 06:52

I didn't have any allergic problems, but noticed when I tried it years ago that the brush developed a nasty whiff of bacteria within weeks.

Minnerva · 08/03/2015 08:51

Me too-tried the Clinique version but this too has started causing me problems.Would love to find a more natural version if anybody has any ideas.

Petal02 · 08/03/2015 09:05

Yep, me too. It gave me red itchy patches. Thankfully there are plenty of alternative products that don't cause irritation.

Lioninthesun · 08/03/2015 09:06

Yes - dry flakey skin under the eyes. It stank too - like someone had licked the brush/mild wee smell. Never using it again.

Lioninthesun · 08/03/2015 09:07

And this was both of a double pack I got when the first came out - brand new so not 'contaminated' or old.

LadyB49 · 08/03/2015 10:08

I have no diffs at all .... seems I'm fortunate.

Lovewearingjeans · 08/03/2015 11:54

Me too! Dry, scaled patches. Into the bin it went.

TheMightyMing · 08/03/2015 12:00

Made my under eyes very red and sore- I binned it.

SuburbanCrofter · 08/03/2015 17:12

Me too - the eczema and the brush smell.

ElsbethTascioni · 08/03/2015 18:44

Yes! And I had so wanted it as it was such a must have!

AmethystMoon · 08/03/2015 19:34

Me too....I had no idea it was so common. Tried it when it first came out, I was so sad it gave me horrid red dry flaky skin :(

musicismagic333 · 09/12/2019 14:59

Has anybody had a bad skin reaction recently from Touche Eclat primer?I used it for the first time Saturday night and woke up yesterday morning looking like I'd been attacked. My right eye was puffy and red and there were other blotches on my face. I noticed that there were a lot of old posts to the same effect a few years ago on mumsnet.

lindyloo57 · 09/12/2019 17:37

Me too,red sore under eyes I took it back.

TheWoodsareDarkandDeep · 09/12/2019 23:42

Ohh yes me, fine using it for while then it made my skin scaly and sore, even when using a new tube.
