I'm going to keep it up as I never dare pluck them into much of a shape and I didn't realise just what a difference it makes!

Did it hurt? I'm a big wimp with dodgy eyebrows...

traceybath · 24/02/2011 20:34

Oh I was amazed the first time I had it done too - which reminds me they need going again.

5GoMadOnAZ650 · 24/02/2011 20:37

No it didn't hurt, it was a strange sensation and my eyebrows were red afterwards but it soon went down, definitely worth it for the results, only cost £7 too and it's given me so much confidence. Plus my daughters said I don't look like Bert & Ernie anymore Shock Blush

I had mine threaded for the first time last August and it really does make such a huge difference.

thebountymuncher It doesn't hurt having my eyebrows done. My friend however had her whole face done and said it really made her eyes water when they did her top lip area.

NotSoPukeyMummy · 24/02/2011 20:40

It is fab, isn't it?

It doesn't hurt, just a bit of a funny sensation, but does make my eyes water a bit.

5GoMadOnAZ650 · 24/02/2011 20:43

I think I'm going to have my top lip done next time, I had it done in the brow bar in superdrug today and was far too embarrassed to sit in the window and have my tash attended too Blush

It is fab, I get my top lip done as well. It doesn't hurt but my eyes do water.

thebountymuncher · 24/02/2011 20:54

Ooh thanks, might have to book myself in! I have fair eyebrows, but they're madly long and bushy (like old mens)
Grin @ Bert and Ernie eyebrows!

ifancyashandy · 24/02/2011 20:56

Tis fab! I am a convert!

Lip freakin' kills is not so bad Hmm!

Oblomov · 24/02/2011 20:57

Had mine done twice in the last 6 months. fab. no pain.

BornToFolk · 24/02/2011 20:59

Now, I think it does hurt - there's a lot of hair (for some people anyway...Blush) being plucked out at once but it's totally worth it. Next time I'm going to take a Nurofen beforehand, see if that helps. Not brave enough to get my top lip done though...

jenandberry · 24/02/2011 21:00

I was going to ask how often people have it done.

ravenousbugblatterbeast · 24/02/2011 21:01

Blimey, I must be more of a a wuss than I thought, I found eyebrow threading really painful!

OOOhhh I have been toying with the idea of getting eyebrows done!! Let my sister pluck them once and swore would never do it again as was agony(and I consider myself to have a high pain threshhold!!). Mine are fair, getting bushier with age and have no shape whatsoever!. Should I?.

Oblomov · 24/02/2011 21:12

I think you are supposed to have themn done regularly, but I worry that the next person will take a bit more off each time, just to prove a point, and that before long, i'd be left with a pencil line.
hence, the only every 6 months, (which is FAR too long)

ifancyashandy · 24/02/2011 21:24

Get mine done every two weeks [hairy emoticon]

Eyes don't hurt me.

Lip is hurty.

not telling about chin

minko · 24/02/2011 21:55

It definitely hurts but is well worth it. I always feel like I've had a facelift afterwards as I look so much better. Costs £13 where we live though which is a bit steep.

purpleknittingmum · 24/02/2011 21:59

I had it done a few years ago, bloody painful!! Eyes watering!

I don't bother doing anything with them now, leave them to their own devices!

whispers I get about 3 whiskers on my chin, getting really good at plucking them out at shorter and shorter lengths!

Icoulddoitbetter · 24/02/2011 22:10

I can only tolerate having the last tidy-up done by threading, having had the rest waxed. I find it really really painful, it's made me cry before! I accept I'm a bit odd as Im know lots of people who have it done and say it doesn't hurt at all (and yes I have been through childbirth!)

geordieminx · 24/02/2011 22:13

Is it better than waxing?

traceybath · 24/02/2011 22:14

Geordie - I think it is way better than waxing.

I go to the blink place in HN and they have a real eye for giving you the best eyebrow shape.

Needanewname · 24/02/2011 22:14

Dont listen to them, it bloody hurts, but very much worth it Grin

winnybella · 24/02/2011 22:15

What's a difference between threading and just plucking? Confused I mean, the difference in result, not the method.

crystalglasses · 24/02/2011 22:17

It hurts the first time but not (much) after that as long as you don't let them grow so long. But it's definitely worth it and only takes about 3 minutes per eyebrow.
